Overall we were very pleased with Verity Baths. They started by taking plenty of time to work out the design with us, offering advice while at the same time making sure we chose a design that we were happy with. Originally they were schedule to only do some work on the master bathroom, but when we discovered that our shower pan had been leaking in the master bath they were able to adjust and do a full remodel there as well. The actual onsite work took several weeks but they were very careful to make sure it interfered with our regular schedule as little as possible. It went very smoothly for the most part and they were quick to resolve the few issues that did arise. They even went out of their way to help with a few things that were not directly related to the remodel. We plan to do a kitchen remodel in the future and will likely enlist their services for that as well.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of guest and master bathrooms.

Ted got an initial bid from the cabinet maker which he relayed to me but he thought it was too high given what the cabinetery involved (the cabinet and draweres take up the entire closet so only the front needed to look nice). I was completely surprised when Ted said he would haggle with the cabinet builder and see if he could get the price down further. After a few days he called me back with an price that he and I both thought was reasonable. FANTASTIC! The cabinet took quite a while to be built but Ted kept in touch with me so I didn't worry. When the cabinetery was finally done, it came as a large single component which was not what Ted ordered but he thought he could wedge it through the doorway and install it. Well, after much trying (at least 2 hours) it became apparent that the single piece could not come through the doorway to the closet and it would have to be cut in half (as originally ordered). Ted apologized for it taking so long and then not getting the configuration and said he would be back with the properly constructed, seperate drawers and cabinet. I felt really bad about them having to transport the piece back to the manufacturer and then come back again to install it but Ted said not to worry about, he would make it right and HE DID! The built in's look great next to the new bathroom and I couldn't be happier about how it all came out. Ted and Tony were great to work with as was all of them team. I highly recommend Verity Bath!
Description of Work: I was so pleased with the bathroom that Verity Bath remodeled, especially the beautiful cabinetry, that I decided I wanted a matching built in cabinet and drawers installed in an adjacent closet. Ted came back out and together we designed it and then he went to the cabinet manufacturer for a bid.

Verity Bath is the best! They delivered on every promise, finished on time, and spent 45 minutes at the end of every day cleaning up so that when I got home my house was as livable as possible. They are not the cheapest in town, but they are worth every penny, especially since I know the quality workmanship that went into the job. Ted walks you through the design phase, even taking you to the tile and fixtures stores to help you pick out what you want. Tony guides you through the construction, working with a top-notch team of professionals and making sure you have every question answered.

All went very well and so happy with the process and the results. Ted, Tony, Jennifer, and the team of people they utilize are all professional and provide high quality service. The new bathroom doesn't just look good, but I know the quality of work that was performed behind the walls (plumbing, framing, structural), which was really important to me. The top things that stood out are: 1) Provides helpful design service (the 3D drawing design was provided before contracting with Verity 2) High quality of work performed 3) Works with customers throughout the entire process to keep the project moving forward while meeting customer needs and expectations 4) Professionalism and easy to work with 5) Very knowledgeable of bath products 6) Utilizes best practice or long lasting installation methods
Description of Work: Remodeled master bath which included: 1) Moved shower from one side of room to other 2) Moved toilet from middle-ish area to side of room 3) Moved vanity from side of room to middle of room. The work included removing and installing new copper plumbing, replaced water damanged subfloor, replaced water damaged dry wall, removed old window and installed new custom sized window, moved entry door and installed new door framing and new door, replaced electrical and moved electrical to requested locations, replaced several 2x4s for framing, installed new drywall, tiles on floor and shower, frameless shower door, linear shower drain, new LED pot lighting, ceiling fan, LED vanity light, sink, quartz countertop, custom made vanity, custom made shelving, toilet, shower faucet, sink faucet.

Ted, Tony, and Jennifer are great! They are true professionals and very easy to work with. Ted helped me pick out all the design elements. Everything was completely explained to me, in language I would understand. Tony kept me informed of which tradesman would be on site that day and kept everything running smoothly. All the tradesmen were courteous, highly skilled, and true gentlemen. I even got help from Jennifer in picking out the wall color. It was a fun experience, and I was comfortable throughout the process. I can't wait to remodel my kitchen!
Description of Work: My master bath was completely remodeled. Converted from tub to shower, new vanity, lights, etc. Tile shower enclosure with pebble floor. Granite counter top on vanity. All new fixtures.

It was a big project and it went very smoothly. We can not say enough good things about Verity Baths. Ted and Tony are incredibly creative/talented, hardworking and trustworthy. They employ quality workers and manage the projects really well (the guy who did our tile was a perfectionist!). The project was on time, the permits were a breeze and the finished product was exactly what we had hoped for. We would use them again for any future projects and would highly recommend them to anyone. **Update from November 2014 - these are definitely guys you want to do business with. They have been so helpful, reliable and really do a great job. We installed a new washer and dryer almost a year later and they assisted us in making a few adjustments so they would fit correctly.
Description of Work: Remodeled master bathroom, built a laundry room and updated (repositioned a toilet and tiled) a guest bath. Our goal was to build a full size laundry room upstairs in our hallway and update the bathroom and they found a way to make both happen! Verity put together a very creative plan with many options for us. They had to completely gut the bathroom, extend the bathroom into the bedroom a bit, move all major plumbing and electrical (to move the sinks, toilet, lighting and shower), create a vanity and laundry room. The guest bath updates were a project that we added on and they managed to fit it into the schedule.

Everything went perfectly. From the selection of fixtures at the beginning to the installation of the built in cabinetry, the process was smooth and we felt comfortable with everyone associated with Verity Bath. There is lots of small tiles and it has been laid impeccably. We are very satisfied with Verity Bath and recommend them to anyone looking for a quality remodel experience.

I love this company so much that when I found out it remodeled kitchens as well as baths, I started planning a kitchen remodel. Ted and Tony guided us through all aspects of this process, laying out each step, costs, timeline, etc., and worked with me through some difficult personal times to make sure these projects were completed beautifully and professionally. I appreciated their critical eye and explaining the pros and cons of each choice so I was prepared to make knowledgeable decisions. When Ted came over to give an estimate, he immediately recognized the period of the house and wanted to work with its unique character instead of trying to turn it into something it was not (as another company wanted to do). All of the company's employees were delightful and great to work with. No hidden costs. I appreciated their honesty and can't wait to work with them again.

All aspects of this project went well. Both Ted and Tony are knowledgeable about design, planning, product selection, project management, and customer service. They are their subcontractors did good work on time. They addressed small issues quickly, were meticulous about cleanup, and careful about the time they spent in our house. It was a pleasure to work with them and I look forward to the next projects we plan.

Ted was highly knowledgeable and organized. We reviewed all what items where supplied with what items we should source on our own to help keep our costs in line. They started on time, all their workers where courteous and on time. Any time I contacted Ted or Tony, they promptly got back to me and already seemed to know why I was calling. We are thrilled with the outcome and felt like the price was more than fair. I highly recommend Verity and would use them again.
Description of Work: Verity renovated our existing master bath turning it into a steam shower (new tile, fixtures, plumbing, ventilation, etc). They updated the look of the bathroom, but did a great job of preserving existing flooring and cabinetry.

They are backlogged until June so you know they must really be popular. I was thinking of using them, but it seems so late in the summer. I was hoping maybe early on because inflation is starting to pick up. Ted is definitely a professional person. I spoke to them this past week and I was so disappointed because I thought he was going to be the answer that I've been looking for to get started with construction. Based on the 2 conversations I had with the employees, it sounds like they are a very good company to work with. I will probably go back to them or refer them if anybody is asking me for that kind of thing. I think their responsiveness was good. They responded within a day. Their professionalism was very good. I think they are one of the better companies I've actually talked to on the phone. I had people come to the house and I just knew I wouldn't be able to work with them because they were arrogant or I could feel they were phony.
Description of Work: I talked to the construction person of Verity Baths and they only do interior finishing work of kitchen and bath, they don't do construction. They didn't quote us a price because we determined it. They don't do anything until the construction is done.

Everything from start to finish was exceptional. There were a few minor things that I felt needed a little extra attention, and Verity was 100% on it, no questions asked. They didn't want to leave the job unless i was 100% satisfied. The project took a little longer than expected, but they kept me informed throughout, so there were no surprises. To save some costs, I opted to do a lot of my own finishing work, which went well. But there were a few things that, on second thought, I didn't feel comfortable handling, and Ted personally came over to assist. I looked around and checked a few different contractors, but I'm pleased with my decision to hire Verity. I wouldn't call my self an easy home owner, and definitely was concerned with keeping costs. Ted clearly understood that about me and was able to work to make everything fit within my budget.

Ted & Tony were wonderful. They showed up on time and kept to the schedule they had contracted for. They protected flooring and cleaned up each evening. They gave us lots of choices for cabinets & countertops and told us the best place to shop for sinks & faucets. We live in a condominium that is 37 years old so the building has moved and nothing in it is square or level anymore. Ted & Tony made everything fit and it all looks beautiful. We really love how our new bathrooms look.

We found Verity on Angie?s list. Tony and Ted are the principals ? Ted worked the estimate and Tony was on-site and hands-on almost every day except during the tile installation, in which he either dropped by or called us. This is a rather long review, but I like lots of details so I?m providing the kind of information I like to see. Our requirements: two bathroom remodels specifically for resale of our house, want that ?Wow? effect when potential buyers see these rooms, including a sense that nothing needs work. So we want lower costs than if done for ourselves. The first visit ? getting info for the proposal Ted arrived at our home on time. He was extremely helpful with ideas, options, and associated rough costs. All in all he spent a few hours with us and all the while he was making sketches with measurements . He had the proposals ready per his commitment. Met at his office where we could view three dimensional drawings and go through a detailed cost estimate of the work, labor and material costs. Their approach: the labor and some of the materials are included in their estimate, and there are materials we would purchase along and he provided price ranges for these. He will accompany us to suppliers to select all materials. Verity has discount purchase agreements with some suppliers. At first the costs were higher than our budget and this included items we didn?t specify but are required by building codes, such as exhaust fans whereas our (older) house had windows. We spent a few hours over a couple meetings with Ted, discussing more options including removal of some work that we would do (like painting), making real-time changes to the drawings, and updating the costs. The singular high labor cost was the tile work, done in a way that is ?old school? with wire and cement to build the foundation rather than sheet goods. However, after an explanation of the differences the cost impact was minor to go with sheet goods so we stayed with the original method. In the end we had an affordable agreement with an acceptable payment schedule. The total time estimated was 6 to 8 weeks. There were standard clauses in the contract regarding areas they couldn?t see, like the sub floors and plumbing in the walls. If any of this was in need of repair/replacement it was understood it would be a contract modification and additional cost. Cabinets were available at Verity so we could see various styles and make a selection. Colors samples were provided we could take to the tile and slab counter top suppliers. Before starting the job Verity required all materials are purchased so there?s no delay in the middle of the job. This was completed shortly after signing the contract. Ted, along with representatives at the stores, made suggestions for specific items. All material was either delivered to our house or staged for a tradesperson to pick up at the store. The work Ted called and wanted to start a couple weeks earlier than scheduled, we couldn?t start right away but agreed to a week earlier than planned. The job started Oct 25, 2013. One of us was home every day while the work was being done. They arrived on time with a large crew. First they put protective coverings on the floors and stairs, and hung tarps to keep dust dispersion throughout the house to a minimum. They completed the demolition on the first day. Hauled away all the debris and cleaned up. The sub floors and plumbing in the walls were determined to be in good condition and didn?t require repair/replacement. Every day the workers showed up on time and cleaned up at the end of the day. All the workers were courteous and appeared to know their trade very well. Roughing in surrounds for the tub and shower went smooth. Matching the wall texture, which isn?t smooth or sprayed, was an art that they did to perfection. They didn?t have to rework any of the plumbing or electrical once roughed in. While the rough electrical and plumbing was in work, the shower stall was hot mopped and the tub was installed. During the job we were kept in the loop constantly. For example, shower head height, exactly where the light fixtures would be located, how tile trim could be finished, etc. We really appreciated this. We weren?t disappointed with something which would have to be reworked and subsequently extend the schedule. Then the tile work started, by far the longest job in the project. A tub/shower enclosure and floor for the larger bathroom, and a shower stall for the smaller. The tile guy worked every day without a miss, and even asked if he could work Saturdays, which was acceptable to us. Cabinets were installed. One had a defect and had to be replaced, which was done expeditiously and didn?t delay the work. Picking out the slabs from which the counter tops would be fabricated didn?t go well, but this wasn?t any fault of Verity. The first store we went to the manager didn?t show up as promised. We couldn?t go out again until the following weekend. We met Ted at the second store and found a slab that from which both counter tops could be made. However, after a week we were contacted that the slab had micro-fractures and they couldn?t work with it. Lost another week. Finally met with Ted and the manager back at the first store, found two slabs. They were fabricated and installed without impacting the schedule. And again, the tradesmen was both courteous and appeared knowledgeable , the final installed counter tops fit tight to the walls and are level. Again, the tradesman asked our opinion regarding the location of the faucets and the holes bored for these were in the right places. After this the finish plumbing was installed along with the finish electrical. We looked everything over in detail, made of list of things that needed attention, and these were dealt with in short order. The entire project was completed in 5 weeks, well ahead of schedule. At the end, Tony told us that should any of the work they performed need attention in the future just call Verity and they?ll be happy to tend to it.
Description of Work: Remodeled two bathrooms: full bath approx. 115 sq. ft., 3/4 bath approx. 90 sq ft. Full bath was everything except walls. 3/4 was shower stall & cabinet, plumbing & electrical / lighting (not floor nor toilet).

After Ted's initial assessment of the old bathroom layout, we explained our needs and also the restrictions of the Condo Association. He drew up several design plans for us to consider. A list of all the work and materials Verity would provide and materials we would needed to purchase with an estimated cost (which was based on average coast of materials) was provided. We decided in some cased to go with higher end products. After a final plan was adapted, Ted and I went shopping for all the materials that we, the costumers were to buy. He patiently advised me in the selection of all the materials, i.e., fixtures, tile, medicine cabinet, etc. Additionally, prior to the start of the remodel, instructions were provided in the prepartion of our home for the remodel. Phase two of the project, Tony was the onsite coordinator. He was there every step of the way making sure things were done as specified. He was easy to work with and would patiently consider minor alterations in our plans. Although not always physically present, since they were also working on other remodels, he would always come to check on his workmen. He had a great crew that were meticulous craftsmen and respectful of our needs. When changes were needed due to the constraints of our building structure, Tony and Ted would plan accordingly and consult with us for a final decision. Tony and crew always cleaned up every day prior to leaving, which included the exterior of our condo and elevator. The only set backs in the project were the delays from the subcontractors for the granite and the shower doors. As a final proof of their dedication to customer service, a hinge came loose on the linen closet door a month after completion of the project and with one call Ted and Tony were quick to remedy the problem! Our son is a home builder in Salt Lake City and was here for the holidays, his comment "a beautiful bathroom professionally done!
Description of Work: A total remodel of a 64" by 145" bathroom to make it ADA compliant for my husband and a 3 by 3 feet linen closet. A wall was removed between the vanity and commode and replaced with a pony wall. The width of the doorway was increased and a pocket door was installed. A complete shower enclosure was made which necessitated considerable plumbing rerouting. Additional plumbing was needed to convert the two sink vanity to one sink. Considerable electrical work had to be done since this is an older condo completed in 1978. The bathroom was gutted down to the studs and all contents removed. Every bit of the debris was removed from the premises, which entailed considerable time an effort since we live in a condo on the third floor.

The master bath and kids bath work was done in January/February of 2012. We couldn't be happier with Verity and their work. So much so that they were the only call when we decided to build the basement 1/2 bath summer of 2013. Ted and Tony (co-owners) compliment each other quite well - Ted with design, vision, layout and products; Tony with timing and execution. Reasons they won our business - 1) Design and Vision: our tiny master bath needed to be reconfigured to make it more user friendly. It was a complete mess. Of all the contractors we interviewed, Ted and Verity were the only ones that listened to what we hoping to see with a redesign, measured twice and came back with something that not only made sense but looked great. They clearly communicated what was possible, what as not, or took the extra step and time to see what they could work out in their designs. It was a welcome surprise. Same goes for the 1/2 bath in the basement - much needed to be moved, reconfigured and designed. What Ted came up with I thought was a bit of a gamble or would cost a fortune in execution. 2)Costs - For the work and ideas they had put fort, we felt the costs were fair. The overall projects were slightly more than we wanted to spend, however, we felt we were not being slighted. Custom cabinets, glass framing for one of the tubs, pipe and copper reconfiguration, etc. We were hopeful the costs were not too much and we were right. Reasons they'll keep our business - 1)Execution - Tony's timeline and daily updates kept the project on course hitting all deadlines. The basement 1/2 bath actually finished ahead of schedule. If there were changes that effected timing - they were clear with that communication upfront and described how it would effect the timeline before they moved forward 2)Availability - There was never a time we could not get a hold of either Ted or Tony before or during the projects. The horror stories of contractors disappearing once a job begins are abundant. Not with Verity. If Tony was not at our job for a day, he still provided a call and status report. Ted would come by and verify our satisfaction. It was more than welcome.
Description of Work: Verity remodeled two bathrooms for us and built a third (1/2 bath) Master Bath - designed reconfiguration to make it aesthetically pleasing and user friendly. Gutted and built to spec Kids bath - gutted and built to spec Basement 1/2 bath - designed and created "man cave" bathroom out of open space in storage area.

my rental unit had a water damage due to unexplained surge of water overnight. I used Verity Bath before and was very happy, so I contacted Ted and Tony right away, knowing this job would require plumbing, drywall, etc repair. It turns out they could do all! and did them all exceptionally well. i had living tenants so the goal was to finish asap and find solution that is long lasting. to be proactive, we fixed all 3 bathrooms, replaced fixtures and their associated pipes and drains. new drywalls for damaged areas. used spare tiles to finish the floor as new tubs are slightly narrower but deeper than old ones. basically this water damage repair was becoming a bigger job than anticipated. Ted was excellent and patient in helping me through to find cost effective solution that brings elegance to my rental. aside from their strength in finishing a pretty much a near remodeling job of 3 baths in 2 weeks, i was equally impressed with Tony coming out on an emergency run to stop the water damage. In sum, Verity is thorough, considers all aspect and delivers excellent service in excellent time. Verity has excellent and talented staffs to do all sorts of work. I will continue to use their service.

We got 5 bids for the job. Verity Baths was at the upper end, but we selected them because we believed they would deliver the quality we were seeking with few if any out-of-scope issues. They also had high Angie's List ratings. We were not disappointed. Ted, the individual with whom we initially discussed the project and wrote up the contract, found it necessary to be out of town for most of the project. I knew this could be an issue, since it is impossible to get everything down in written form (i.e. the contract); however, Tony the Ops. Mgr. and we were able to reach consensus on those items that did not appear in the contract with little or no difficulty. We found all parties involved to act in a congenial and professional manner and to make sure that what they were doing was meeting our expectations. We purchased our own porcelain tile and had a problem with the surface bullnose not matching the color of the field tile. Roberto, their excellent tile man was able to fabricate the needed surface bullnose tile from the excess field tile I had ordered (conservatively), thereby saving the project! Actually the outcome turned out even better than what we had planned. In a job like this, it is impossible to foresee all possible decisions that might need to be made. They did not make a move without ensuring that they were proceeding down the path we wanted. The job was done according to schedule, even though we supplied the hardwood flooring and the painting - it all dovetailed in nicely.
Description of Work: Provided advice on bath remodel and then performed the service.

We knew we had found the right contractor for our bathroom remodel the moment we met Ted. He responded quickly and professionally to our inquiry and he was extremely personable. He clearly understood our vision and walked us through the process in a way that eliminated the stress and frustration that usually comes along with a renovation. Ted patiently accompanied us to choose our tile, offering helpful advice and professional experience along the way. I take design choices pretty seriously, and I'm not one to make a hasty decision, but Ted was patient and understanding and never made me feel like I had to lock in a decision before I was ready. We met Tony once construction started, he was active on the job site and made himself available to us if we had any questions or concerns throughout the whole process. He was a pleasure to work with. After the first day of construction, I came home from work and was shocked at how clean the house was. The crew laid protective ramboard down to spare our wood floors and cleaned up the dust and debris from demoing so well that I wouldnt have even known they were there if it weren't for the fact that my bathroom was completely gutted. They maintained this cleanliness throughout the entire 4 week long project. Everything moved exactly on schedule and the project was done exactly when it had been promised. There were no hidden costs, or unexpected expenses. I would definitely recommend Verity to all of my friends and family looking to do a bathroom remodel. We love our new bathroom/spa retreat.
Description of Work: Ted and Tony performed a complete upgrade in our main bathroom.

I had an emergency problem with my shower that began to leak. I called Tony at Verify and he came over later that day and recommended replacing the original shower enclosure due to its age. He was very knowledgeable and clearly explained the scope of work. The job was completed quickly (within 3 days including painting). The team worked very leanly, showed up on time and I am very happy with my bathroom makeover! I would not hesitate to recommend Verify for any bathroom projects.
Description of Work: Replaced leaking shower enclosure with a new unit. All shower plumbing, drywall repair and paint.

I had an emergency water leak in my rental. Very severe! Called Verity Bath. I am so very happy with my choice. Toni came quickly as soon as he wrapped the work elsewhere. He removed the water damaged area (ceiling and wall), brought fans to dry the area and repaired the damage quickly. I am most impressed with his careful, thoughtful, systematic investigation of the cause. Now I have happy tenants and peace of mind. Thank you Verity Bath for another job well done.

Verity Baths had been referred to me through a friend who hired them to remodel two of his full bathrooms. Upon my first meeting with Ted I felt very comfortable in beginning my own home project. Ted's estimate was very detailed and he took the time to sit with me to walk me through his design concepts as well as the anticipated costs. I felt that he was very transparent when it came to the price and what to expect throughout the process. Ted took the time to help me shop for the major ticket items for each bathroom which was the most daunting aspect for me. He helped design the vision I had and I couldn't be happier. Once the plans were laid out and the date was set Tony took over and did an amazing job of walking me through each step of the process. I appreciated the fact that he would call me at the end of the work day to give me a status update of the project and let me know the next steps. The team that worked for Verity were all very professional, neat and friendly. When I walked in the door at night it was never obvious that construction was taking place. Each crew member paid attention to the fact that I have two pets in the house and they made sure that they were secure at all times. Jennifer was instrumental in helping to suggest paint colors and provide vital updates regarding payments, materials needed etc. She was very pleasant to speak with and always responded promptly. A big thank you to Ted, Tony, Jennifer, Rene, George, James and anyone I may have missed. I absolutely love my new bathrooms and when I am ready to tackle my kitchen I will be giving these guys a call.

I can't say enough good things about Verity Baths, Verity Build Inc. Ted Scheumann and Tony Davies head up a wonderfully run business where they have surrounded themselves with a crew that reflects there fantastic work ethic. Jennifer Donalson, the office manager, kept me abreast of each process via Email, Ted Scheumann personally helped pick out the tile, cabinets and design and Tony Davies made sure my new bath was beautiful both inside and out! The crew, Rene, George, Enrique, and Jose were not only hard workers but truly nice guys!
