P & M Mechanical Heating & Air Conditioning

Over the holidays we noticed that our heating was only working in 1/4 of our house. Our two story house is 10 years old and has a zoned heating system, with two thermostats upstairs and two downstairs. We called P & M whom I had used previously. Paul could not come out for about 10 days but we were in no particular rush. The appointment time was set for 1 - 3 pm, he arrived at 1:20 and had diagnosed my problem AND found a safety issue (zone sensors) that the original installers had obviously covered up (they had taped over an indicator light!!), all within 30 minutes. He then spent 20 minutes explaining my options to me. Since three of our four thermostats were dead, we opted to replace all four of them, two programmable and two non-programmable. I never felt any pressure to purchase the more expensive ones. Since he didn't have four sensors in his truck, he said he would have Michelle call me to make an appointment for installation. She did, the very next day, and offered to have the workers come on Saturday afternoon! I could not meet them that day, so Paul called Monday morning and we scheduled the work for Monday afternoon. The technicians were scheduled for sometime between 2 - 4 pm, came at 1:45, took one hour and ten minutes to replace all four thermostats, and cleaned up after themselves. What incredible service! They even gave me an Angie's List member discount. This is exactly why I love Angie's List: how else would I have found this company?

My initial phone call call to set up the appointment went fine I was given a date and a two hour time frame. Paul showed up within ten minute at the start of the time frame, and proceeded to fix the problem right away. He presented me two options on the thermostats in an neutral manner, and advised me on the price per unit. His parts and labor were almost four hundred dollars cheaper than one of the big box stores that had made a service call earlier in the year. He will be helping me on an Air Conditioning option in April 2013 after taxes. I recommend his services highly

Everything went well. I had noticed house heating was weak for a long time. Furnace fine but obviously something wrong with ducting. They came , crawled into the house and identified a broken duct. Fixed it and my house has never been warmer. Also they identified a dodgy hose, likely to rupture in earthquake so fixed that. Also drew my attention to 5% off coupon that I had not noticed for Angie's list customers. Great guys, great service.

Technician was friendly, professional. Did the work quickly and explained what he had done. Left the used part with me.

Setting up an appointment to have the heater looked at was very easy. They gave me a two hour window, and I asked to be called when Paul was on his way so I could meet him there. He called, then arrived in about 20 minutes. He looked carefully at the old unit and determined that he would not be able to make the thermostat easier to turn off. He was very professional, very neat, and careful to clean up. We don't plan to replace the unit at this time, but we will be sure to call P & M if we have any other heating or air conditioning needs!

I initially spoke with Michelle on the phone to make an appointment. I chose P&M because of previous comments on Angies List. Michelle was very polite, took all my details, and set up an appointment. She was up front with costs involved.She is very efficient. Paul arrived punctually, and was friendly and clean. He checked everything, found the problem, promptly took care of it. I think their pricing is fair, and they are to be commended for their overall performance.

They were extremely professional and hard working. The guys had to come out on a few different days because it was hard to find the leak. They worked in extreme outdoor heat (100degrees+) and were diligent and efficient in their work. They were patient in explaining the problem and how it could be fixed. The office staff were excellent in keeping up posted on the timeline for the job to get done. They were very sympathetic to our needs and made every effort to accommodate us. There was some minor damage done to the ceiling during the repair but they immediately informed us of this and offered to pay our handyman to repair or arrange for their own guy to come back out- which he did and was also very professional. They are more expensive than some of the other local companies but they are worth it in my opinion- they get the job done right the first time and guarantee their work. There seem to be a lot of dishonest companies out there doing this type of work (we have had quite a bit of experience with different ones unfortunately) but this is not one of them. I recommend them highly and without reservation- wish I had listened to my friend who told me to use them for the original installation. We went with a cheaper company who didnt guarantee their work- this company does for 5 years.

Arrived on time. Placed cover sheets to avoid mess on carpets etc. As quoted worked 9 - 4.30pm with hour for lunch. Job took 3 days - again as quoted. Before requesting check, P&M provided a full walk thru to test installation fully functioning and walked us thru the operating instructions.Job went exactly as planned with no surprises. Very pleased, so have taken out the annual maint. contract and will recommend to friends. Good job!

I initially had P & M come out to do an annual maintenance check ($107) on my A/C and forced air heating system. This was the first time I have used them. They were very friendly and thorough, much more thorough than the last company that serviced my system. They told me that the duct work that was initially installed was too small for the size of the furnace that was installed (They said that it was too big for my house) This can cause the furnace to overheat which was a safety issue. They recommended larger duct work and additional ducts in our living room and family room. This would prevent the furnace from overheating. I agreed to the price. They gave me a 10% Angie's List discount. They arrived promptly and except for a short lunch break worked for about nine hours installing the above mentioned work. They cleaned up well after they were done. The house cools off faster now and when it is cold, I'm sure it will heat up faster. It was a pleasure dealing with them. I plan to have them continue with the annual maintenance.

The part wasn't in and therefore they didn't do the work. He was very honest, prompt, and professional. I would recommend him.

My wife and I were looking for a company to move our AC in our backyard. I contacted a few places, but some places were slow to respond, except P & M. In fact, Paul of P & M was able to come by in a matter of a few hours. Once Paul sized up the requirements, he was then able to provide a suggested alternative. He suggested that we consider doing something that basically put him out of a job. Why? Well his suggestion was the right thing to do. He provided an alternative for no charge. Now that's what I call a honest businessman. I not only recommend Paul and his company; I'll make sure to call them anytime I need AC support. He is a the real deal!

Service person "Luis" was on time and when he arrived, he put covers over his shoes. He explained the covers were meant to be a sign of respect before entering a customer's home. He did a thorough maintenance check, was informative, and answered all my questions & concerns. In the process,he educated me & provided me with excellent service. I felt lucky to have a professional like him helping me. I would recommend P & M Mechanical to anyone looking for high quality service.

Paul was excellent and the installers were really good. They finished everything on time. They took care of the house and were really clean and professional. They did a really good job. I would recommend them. Paul really know's about the furnace and what was needed for the house.

Brilliant . Paul is a wonderfully candid, honest man first with a fun sense of humor and charm to boot. He came in to fix a squeaky old heater and rather trying to sell me a new one (which I expected) he was dead set on getting rid of the squeak and sprucing up my current machine. He did just that , and it works better and quieter than ever. Don't even think twice about calling this company. The world needs more people people like this gem of a man. AND ...no charge for an estimate !!!! Try finding that in any other heating/AC company

The technician Paul showed up on time and was knowledgeable and friendly. He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave a quote. The next day, a different technician came out and corrected the improper venting and installed a new thermostat. I was ready to pay the technician when he came out but was pleasantly surprised when the technician stated that a bill would arrive in the mail. Sure enough a few days later a invoice arrived with the quoted amount. I have not had any further problems with the furnace and would definitely hire this company again.

Paul arrived on time and was very personable. Before he would enter the house, he insisted on putting on shoe coverings. After he looked at the old A/C in the backyard and checked the heater in the attic, he told me that they would need to be replaced. (I had received several other quotes prior to having P&M Mechanical out.) I told him I knew they needed to be replaced and I would appreciate him sending me a quote. He told me he could have a quote for me in minutes if I didn't mind waiting. I was surprised and pleased. Every other company had to generate their bids from their office but P & M Mechanical had a laptop and printer. Within minutes I had a quote. Paul and I settled on a start date that day. The reason I chose P&M Mechanical so quickly was because of the professionalism. Their bid was not the most expensive nor the cheapest but I have learned that going with the cheapest is exactly what you get. am so glad I hired P&M Mechanical. I would refer them to anyone who needed A/C or Heating work. Paul and Michelle made a situation that could have been painful quite easy.

Honest, professional, reliable.Paul at P & M came to repair damage made by a duct-cleaning company. He actually had a replacement switch for my 1956 furnace on his truck. Saved me the cost of buying a new furnace. P & M will be doing my new furnace when I get one. Highly recommended!

Very good from pulling the permit, removal of old asbestos insulated duct work, installation of new ducts and registers and, of course, the installation of the A/C units (inside and outside parts).

I originally contacted P&M for service to our heating/air conditioning system. The service technician arrived on schedule and inspected our inside system. He recommended that what was needed was to see the heat pump before he could thoroughly provide service. At the time we could not gain access to the heat pump located on the roof of our condominium complex. I needed to contact the property management company to see where and how to gain access. The P&M serviceman agreed to reschedule for another visit. He did not charge for this service call. I was pleasantly surprised. Now after receiving a complete inspection and service can only add that this small company does a big value job at a very reasonable price.
