The experience was fantastic. We were really in a bind, because a broken gate meant our cars were stuck in our driveway and we couldn't get to work! Eric came over immediately and got to work repairing the gate. The gate had gone off the rails, and the chain was broken. Eric promptly replaced the chain, got the gate back on the rail, and did a general service to ensure that the gate works properly in the future. His speed and professionalism were very impressive, and we would absolutely recommend him to friends and neighbors, and we intend to continue using his services as needed in the future.

Eric did a great job. He serviced my garage door a few hours after calling in. He was professional and did a great job fixing my garage door. I will definitely use his service in the future.

Although the charges proved to be far more than Angie's list had quoted, the garage door repair proprietor, Eric, did an excellent job of not only replacing the springs, but also of fine tuning the entire door. Excellent overall rating.

Eric was just great. Garage door has not been operating properly for awhile and today it died. He diagnosed problem, then repaired sensors and wiring. He put a lot of time and effort on adjustments and making sure door worked perfectly before he left.He informed me that we will probably need a new motor, which I already knew as this one is quite old, but absolutely no pressure. (I will certainly call Eric when the time comes!) Price was more than fair.

Eric, the owner of Master Garage Doors and Gates, took the time to fix everything that was preventing my garage door from closing smoothly. He displayed extreme professionalism and a very high level of expertise; he was not going to do a quick, shoddy job. Even though he came all the way out to Malibu on a Saturday to work on my door, and even though he ended up doing much more than he had contracted to do, he still honored the original price quote. This guy is one in a million! Give him a try...I GUARANTEE you will be pleased with his work.

I was very happy with the entire process. Eric came out initially to show me all the options I had in replacing my old garage doors. After getting another bid, I decided to go with him. The price was competitive and he was very helpful in helping suggest the different options. He came out again to get final measurements and the order was placed. Approximately, two weeks later the doors arrived and he did not leave until the installation was perfect. He swept up the garage and everything looked great!

My spouse accidentally drove into our driveway gate one night and did serious damage. The gate was unusable. They said they could actually come out the next morning to fix the gate. I was surprised and grateful. They arrived a few minutes early, we came up with a plan of what needed to be done, and it was fixed by that morning. I had further asked him how I might get longer range with my gate remote, and he solved that problem too. I think of the many times I've had various jobs done around the house, and the complicated plans to meet and work and get things done, and how long and drawn out that process can be, and all I can only tell you that this was exactly the opposite. The job was done quickly, carefully, perfectly, at a reasonable price, and with a cheerful, helpful demeanor. What more could you ask for?! I can't imagine how I could've been served better, and am happy to give Master Garage Doors & Gates my highest recommendation. Thanks again Eric!

After a slight delay by vendor in getting back to me, the transaction went smoothly.

Eric came to my house on time and listened to my requests and expectations. Then he explained the pros and cons to my wishes so I knew what might occur. I listened to his recommendations. After discussing the job, we agreed to what was needed. I am happy to say he followed up after the job quickly to adjust my gate's sensitivity. The gate was set at the highest sensitively in case it hit my car. The gate automatically pulls back after impact about a foot or more from the object. It was hitting my stop plate and then moving away leaving the gate slightly open. Eric decreased the sensitivity and now the gate stays in place. I would recommend Master Garage Doors and Gates. The price as middle for the prices I was given. Keep in mind swing gates are expensive and purchasing something inexpensive may cost you more in repairs. I had a GoPro swing gate computerized gate opener and swing arm. I had lots of problems over the years. I bought it ten years ago when I was told they were good. Now, this LiftMaster LA400 is supposed to be the best. I will review this gate opener again in a few years from now or sooner if I have problems.

Can't say much that hasn't already been said here. We called Eric based on his reviews, and he delivered. He's extremely knowledgeable, communicates well, and the work is flawless. At one point during installation, he realized he needed to pull out a piece of brand new drywall to put in a small stud; otherwise, he'd have to mount the spring above the door to the drywall, which, over time, would have caused major problems. He let me know, I agreed, and he made sure to paint it so it's barely noticeable. Not his fault my garage was built incorrectly back in the '50s. Point is, he won't take the easy route, and he'll always be honest. If you're looking for someone to install your garage door, Eric is the only guy to call.

I called and within 45 min, I had a garage tech at my home replacing my springs and an hour later, my garage was working again. They were very professional all the way. I highly recommend them to everyone. I was very impressed with their service.

They did first class work and cleaned up all the shoddy electrical connections the previous owner of the house had done. Prompt, professional and efficient they are an outstanding service provider who I will use again.

First and most important, Eric, the owner of the company, provided absolutely first-class customer service from my initial phone contact through final inspection of the work, checking in regularly by phone and in person on the progress of the work and to be sure we were happy with it; he even called me a couple of weeks after the job was done to be sure we were still satisfied with everything. We have a heavy, one-piece wood garage door on our mid-century home that we did not wish to change and that our original door opener was no longer able to handle. Hector, the technician that inspected the door and performed the work, was very knowledgeable and consulted with Eric by phone to determine the best machine for the job. In spite of the fact that the door hardware was original (late 1950s), Hector said it was in good shape and only the springs needed to be replaced to rebalance the door. Hector returned the next day and installed a sophisticated two-speed screw-drive opener that was amazingly smooth and quiet. However, a couple of days later it stalled and we had to disconnect the door and operate it manually (no problem since with the new springs, the door went up and down with almost no effort). Eric came out and discussed the problem with the manufacturer's tech support and got it working again. Unfortunately, the same problem occurred again the following week, and Eric returned and decided after speaking with tech support that rather than replacing the motor unit and risking another malfunction and further inconvenience to us, he decided to take the opener back and install a chain-drive unit that he had full confidence would operate reliably in our situation. Although the replacement unit is not as smooth or as quiet as the screw-drive one, it has operated flawlessly since it was installed. Eric did all this extra work at no extra charge, and stated he would provide whatever routine maintenance may be needed in the future. He and Hector even showed me how to look for problems with the door hardware (the supporting hinges) that would indicate it would need replacing. There was never any attempt to upsell us to another type of door or to replace our older but still-functional door hardware; their only concern was to provide us with a system that would work with our door. I can't say enough about how well I was treated and how happy I am with Master and their service.

Eric called on his way here to let us know he would arrived in about 20 minutes. He arrived as promised and began the very complicated diagnostic process as the jumble of wires & metal boxes here is overwhelming. He even called a fellow repairman to stop by to help troubleshoot. 3 hours and $460 later the gate is working better than it has since we moved in. We are thrilled that he was able to wade through the mess that we inherited to pinpoint the problem. The previous $3,200 estimate was for replacement of items that weren't even broken, just not hooked up properly. We would highly recommend Master Garage Doors & Gates for professionalism and honesty in getting the problem solved in a timely manner and charging a fair price for the work. They are A+ in our book.

It went very well. I like Eric. He is a great guy. He arrived and time and went above and beyond the call of duty. I will definitely use this company again for any and all my garage door needs.

The gate style and rollers are not the normal type. Also, the area for the motor was very limited due to a huge cypress tree. Also, the only electricity nearby was the 200v AC unit so this limited the options on the motor. Also, the gate was squeaky, and bumpy and tilting. So this job is not really the normal job and it had some challenges. Right from the beginning, Eric was courteous and responsive and helpful with his suggestions. After the initial meeting, he had to go on a trip but he kept in touch with me. He shows up exactly when he says he does and he gets the job done exactly like he says he will, PLUS many little extras. In addition to all the little things that he fixed on the rolling gate, like adding a stopper in case the power goes out (it slipped off the track in the past if I pushed it too hard), he did several things that were not in the contract, but he just is passionate about his work and does them anyway. For example, straightening out the decorative bent iron portion of the gate that looked old and messy. Removing the old manual lock loop so that no one would accidently put a padlock on the gate and ruin the motor. Adding little warning signs. Adding white paint to the worn portions of the gate. I'm impressed with the submerged/invisible electrical, and the high-quality super-quiet motor he ultimately found. Usually I have to hover over people to make sure they do things right and don't make too much of a mess. I was relieved to see that I could let my guard down here and just trust Eric to do what he does. I am very glad that I selected Master Garage Door and Gates to do this job. I give them the highest rating and I encourage anyone who needs this type of service to give them a call. You will be thrilled!

As others have noted, Eric was extremely responsive, professional and a delight to deal with. I called him on a Saturday expecting to get a voicemail and he answered the phone. He was at my house within 2 hours to evaluate the job and provide a bid. My garage is currently under construction and he was kind to provide some important construction advice so that the new door installation would go smoothly. I felt very reassured that Eric and I would feel confident working with Eric and his team when it is time to install the door.

A really great serviceman! Excellent work! I'll call him any time I need service. No one could have done a better job. Fast, efficient, friendly. This was a great experience!! He called to set up an appointment and arrived exactly on time. In addition to the tune up I needed to have the photo cells re-hung. I also needed to have two remote controls re-programmed, one of which had never worked before. The additional work I needed done was very important and was not included in the $49 tuneup. But I wasn't charged any extra. What a great guy! Terrific job!
