Payless called me within 30 mins of my receiving their name and number from Servicemagic ON A SUNDAY. They were willing to come to our house in LA on Sunday but as we were out of the area, we scheduled a Monday morning appointment. They arrived promptly, gave us an estimate which we accepted on the spot and then proceeded with the job. They had the equipment on the truck and completed the job in a timely manner.

This company did a very good job. They were quick to get in touch with me and set up an appointment. They were on time and were very professional. They gave us a very reasonable deal wtih the pricing.

Fast, professional, price was ok. James who did the job was very nice. explained everything.

The work was done in a timely manner and was very neat. The price quoted of $670 became $1150 by the time the "extras" were added. There is no way that replacing the gas line and valve, the flexible water connections and valve, the pan, pop-off valve and earthquake straps should have cost $500.

Quick efficient, cordial, price was reasonable and paid attention to detail.

I already did recommend Payless to a friend. They were at my house within about 3 hours of my first notice to Service Magic on the Internet. The technician was just a touch abrupt with me, but seemed very knowledgeable. He also went the extra distance to find a technician in the area, with the type of water heater I wanted in his truck, got the appliance to my house and installed it right that evening. He didn't leave my house until about 7pm. I was grateful to have it installed so quickly and efficiently the same day.

They did a good job,at a reasonable price

There is not a low enough rating for Payless Water Heaters. The day of the installation making me pay for a regulator under duress. The heater did not last 3 years. Our existing venting was damaged by the Payless installer. It cost us $1000 to exchange and install the water heater and fix the venting. During the exchange we discovered Payless installed a bottom-of-the-line water heater, not the top-of-the line one we paid $1300 for. What Payless does is install inferior products and "warrantee" them themselves for a longer period. I have formally complained and they are under investigation.
