Ken from El Gato Painting appeared promptly on time to collect information for an estimate. He took plenty of time to let me know what they would do and what I could expect from their work. Arranging the schedule was very easy with their office. They required no deposit, just payment on completion. The first day was a power-wash of the house, which was very thorough. They also brought sample paint colors at that time to insure that they we got the colors that we wanted. Two days later the painting crew arrived. They were courteous and kept us informed of their progress. The resultant paint job and refinishing of the woodwork came out better than anticipated; we were very pleased. There were a few minor places that were not masked off, such as one faucet and an electrical outlet.. The crew made sure to complete a few little extras so that the house looks very good. The wood siding came out much better than I had anticipated. Overall, the experience working with El Gato was very pleasant.

With a few minor hiccups, the job went very well. Julio came out and made the initial proposal at a competitive price. I called and met with him one more time to clarify the details of the job and make sure we were on the same page -- we were. So the job was a go. The office scheduled the initial power wash quickly, and set the painting dates for the next week. The house is single story stucco exterior, and the southern exposure takes a huge beating from the sun. There were some places where the fascia needed replacement due to dry rot. And two places where the fascia needed reset with screws due to warping. The windows were recently replaced so there was new stucco in several places. The cleaning crew showed up on time, moved the small items in their way, and blasted the area clean. They did avoid cleaning one area where the would have to move a small outdoor potting bench. The painting crew also showed up on time and did a good job on fascia repairs. I bought some drip edge flashing and they installed that for me when they repaired one section of dry rot. Prep (masking) is one area where they could have done a better job. They ended up getting paint on a window and screen,two brick surfaces, and a bay window roof due to poor masking. They were able to clean up the screen, window, and brick, but the roof shingles will never look quite right. We are talking about drips, but still, proper masking would have prevented this. During the job, someone broke the GFI cover plate, but they replaced it, no problem. With the exceptions above, the painting job is wonderful. Trim work in general shows good attention to detail, and all the sanding, scraping, putty, etc gives the job a nice finished look. The colors are exactly what we asked for and the house looks very good. We asked them to come back and correct the few problems (drips on bay roof, reinstall weather stripping on one door) and to respray the northern wall. They came back the next day to finish the job. I would definitely use them again, and I would recommend them to others. However, I would say to keep an eye on the details if you want to have a perfect job. I wish Julio would have been on site during the work, as many of the details we discussed seemed to be a mystery to the crew, and I needed to keep a close eye on the job to make sure these things were done.

Like others, I got bids from 3 companies. El Gato was the middle bid, but they were all fairly close. The staff on the phone were pleasant and helpful. The guy who gave me the quote was knowledgable and thorough...and on time. He gave me the detailed quote before he left. The painters did a great job on preparation and application. They did the whole house in 2 days and assured me that if there was anything that needed touched up or anything we found that we weren't satisfied with to call and they would be back to correct it at no charge. There were no drips on our deck, great job on difficult to reach areas, like where the deck railing obstructed a wall (I know it's difficult to paint well because I was the person who previously painted it.). The crew was nice, pleasant and hard working. I highly recommend them.

El Gato Painting was quite a bit more expensive than other bids I had received. I chose a personally referred contractor instead.

At our request, Ken Slosarik, the president, came out to meet with us and take a look at what we wanted done to the house. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. He provided an estimate within a couple of days which included a base price and the options that we had discussed with him. Out of the three contractors we received estimates from, we selected El Gato. Once we contacted El Gato concerning our selection, they scheduled us for work to be performed in two weeks. On the second week, the powerwasher came out on Monday and powerwashed the house. He also applied a sample of the colors that we had requested to show us how they would look. The painters came on Thursday. Fernando and his two coworkers spent Thursday fixing the stucco and applied the primer coat. On Friday, they applied two coats of paint in the requested colors to the house as we specified. The inspection occurred around 5 pm with only one minor discrepancy which was resolved right away. The crew worked hard and did a great job. They were very courteous and were motivated to make us happy with the final results. The house looks like new and we have had many compliments from the neighbors.

I could not be happier with El Gato painting. From Julio who quoted the job to Lori in the office and especially to Noe and his crew, the job went flawlessly. There were no paint drips, no damage to my property or plantings. The crew were polite, friendly and respectful. And, they gave me the best price of all the contractors who quoted on the job. Yes, I definitely would use them again. And thanks to Angie's List for providing me with the referral.

There estimate was a bit higher than others, but the description of the planned process was more comprehensive, leading me to choose them. They fully lived up to my perfectionistic standards...

Job took 4 days -- I was very impressed.

El Gato Painting came out and gave me an estimate to paint my house. It took them a few days before they came out and it took them a few days to work up the estimate. I got a total of five estimates and El Gato was in the middle. I picked a smaller (but not the cheapest) contractor to do the job.

It was a positive experience. They did a very nice job. The overall experience was excellent. We have recommended them. They were very quick and did an excellent job. The price sounds like a lot but there was a lot of prep work to do. It was half of the price. We were very pleased. They were definitely punctual. We would absolutely use them again.

These guys are awesome! The estimator, Julio, answered all my questions/concerns. The quote included itemized options that I could choose to do myself if so inclined--I liked that. The power wash guy cleaned off some additional areas that were in need without my request and at no extra charge. The painters did great prep and painting. They were easy to work with and helped us make some good decisions. There work is beautifully done--my wife and I are both pleased. It turns out they also went above and beyond and painted some extras that were not included in the contract at no extra charge. I'd have this team back in a heartbeat!

Crew worked hard over three days to power wash, prep and paint. Our house hadn't been painted in approx 20 yrs so prep was important and they did a good job. Very happy with end results. They were neat, did a thorough job, and cleaned up so I didn't even know they were here. They even painted the planter on my porch without my asking. I would definitely hire them again.

The estimator showed up on time and did a thorough estimate on the spot. He answered all our questions, and the estimate was very competitive with the two other estimates we received. After deciding to go with El Gato, we were able to schedule the crew to start the power wash just 3 days later. The power washer was a one-man crew. He arrived 5 minutes early and finished the job within the estimated time frame. He was very professional. He brushed our selected colors on in fairly large sections, so we could feel confident with our color before painting the entire house. The paint crew arrived 2 days later. The three man crew arrived 5 minutes early again. I love punctuality! The team was very professional. They spent a significant amount of time on the prep work, scraping old paint, filling cracks, sanding, etc. The entire job took two days, and the results were fantastic. We are thrilled with the work. Half-way through the job, we noticed they had started painting the chimney the house color, and we were expecting it to be the color of the trim. No problem, they fixed it on day 2 and it looked great before they left.

Ken came at the scheduled time. After we toured the site and discussed what we wanted, Ken wrote up a comprehensive estimate on the spot and went over all the details. While examining the condition of the house, Ken noticed that one of the fascia boards had some water damage. That was timely as I had a contractor working on the house who could correct that before they started painting. To help us narrow down the new colors, Lori in the office emailed us a list of recently completed jobs in our area. We visited them all and selected our colors. The first crew showed up at 7:30am to start the power wash. Before beginning the crew chief walked around the property with me to make sure he understood what we wanted. After they had finished the power wash, they painted a few areas to let us see how the colors we selected would work on the house. They were not what we thought they would be, so we notified Lori in the office. The painting crew also showed up at 7:30am on the scheduled date. Once again the crew chief walked around the property with me to explain to me what he was going to do and to answer any questions. The prep work was extensive and far more than any other contractor had offered to do. Included patching cracked stucco, recaulking all mouldings, priming all bare wood and metal. They brought out the new paint we had selected and painted on a sample. We were happy with that result and they proceeded to paint the house and other items. We have a very large lanai, with built in benches along a retaining wall, plus a hot tub. All of which had to be painted by hand. There is also a "Tuf Shed" which they painted to match the house. They finished in two days as proposed, even though they had to work into the late evening to do so. When we did the walk through with the crew chief the next morning we didn't find one thing that needed correction. He said if we did find anything to just call the office and someone would be right out to correct it. I believe him.

I just stopped by the house to check on the work, and it looks really good. The quote was thorough and included digital pictures of what was covered in the quote. Ken was punctual and showed up when promised for the quote, and the painting team was also right on time as promised. Easily half this job was prep work, because the railing and spindles were covered in multiple coats of old, cracking and peeling paint that needed to be scraped and sanded off. The team did a really thorough job of scraping, sanding, caulking and sealing cracks before priming the wood, and the final coats of paint look really good. They did a nice job matching the color of our trim (we didn't have any leftover paint to match). So far very happy with the work. They were definitely more expensive than the other quotes I got, but I just felt like they'd do a really thorough job, and so far my expectations have been met.

Ken was there for the estimate at the appointed hour. He gave an estimate that was similar to ones I got from two other companies. We decided to go with him as he was highly rated on Angie's List. The time estimate was three days but on day one, a crew of 10 guys showed up and completed almost the entire job that day itself. The next day, two guys came and finished whatever remained. We did not like the color on the garage trim. So, they did it again with a different color without any extra charge. They even did some touch ups in the interior. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the way the entire job was handled.

The house had not been painted in more than 15 years and needed a lot of prep work. They were meticulous about the prep work and painting. The house looks gorgeous!!

Original estimate was that it would take a week to complete. Painters suggested it would only be two days, but it actually took three. After this, we had to negotiate for them to come back to repaint the doors, which looked terrible with deep brush strokes in many directions. They did return and did a nice job with an air sprayer. Only problem was that they damaged several large shrubs, including a specimen pine right by the front door. Despite these complaints, the final result is very nice, and the workmanship is excellent.

The biggest problem we had was the painters not coming on the scheduled day. When we called to check on the situation El Gato apologized and promised to complete the painting in a single day. Frankly, I was skeptical. I shouldn't have been. The next day 2 crews came to my house and worked through the entire day. I'm very happy with the results and with the quick reaction to the scheduling issue. On top of that I received a discount because of the scheduling snafu.

I asked them to come out for an estimate for painting my home. He looked and behaved un-professionally from his arrival. Despite this, we asked for separate estimates for interior and exterior, something that other painters have gladly given. He complained that "you people" always do things like this. He clearly displayed a negative attitude toward us so we asked him to leave.

They did a good job. I was pleased with their price. It was a little bit of a struggle to get my way with the foreman, and he did do what I wanted. They were half the price that I got from other companies.

Within two hours of my initial call Ken was at the house and did a very detailed evaluation of the job that needed to be done. Answered all questions as to brands of paint and stains that could be used and his recommendations. Also included the pros and cons of the various choices. Received an estimate the next day by electronic means. After evaluating three other vendors we chose EL GATO (they were the lowest cost and the most detailed bid) and set a date for the work. The team arrived on time on the scheduled date and completed the job in less time than originally projected (3 days vs. 3.5 days). The crew was professional, easy to work with (there were a couple of questions that needed answering and one issue that needed resolving). They cleaned up every day and especially at the conclusion of the job. There was some minor damage that we noticed after the job was complete and EL GATO immediately sent someone out to view the situation and quickly remedied it to our satisfaction. A very stress free job from a very professional contractor.
