Price was fully disclosed with no surprises. Workers were punctual each day they were there. They treated our home like it was theirs...cleaning up every day before they went home. The work was professionally done. Any unplanned situations we were alerted promptly. We would highly recommend them.

Ok. The crew was rather sloppy. They had to return to finish all the detail they missed, and clean up the sloppiness. They got paint on our brick patio, and got part of the roof shingles with the spray. I felt more like a project manager, than the customer as I had to show them a laundry list of what had to be touched up or still had to be painted. I was disappointed that the project manager didn't reach out to see if I was satisfied with the work.

Initial estimate was timely, contract was handled electronically which was convenient. The paint job on the exterior is acceptable. Here are the issues I had- there was some communication breakdown between the individual who did the estimate & contract & the office staff so paint color choices for sample that were painted after the power wash were a last minute scramble and paint colors chosen did not seem clear to the workers. I was not impressed with the prep work that was done; nail holes not filled, areas that had peeling paint were not smoothed well so there is a texture variance. In the interior I had a new cabinet painted (had not been installed yet), another cabinet touched up and the interior side of the door to the outside painted. These were left to the last day & done in hurry up mode. There were a couple of problems with the work that was done on these that got corrected that same day but I was left on a wet weather day with an exterior door I couldn't close because the paint was sticky. I understand that weather is not always ideal but the workers should do the work in a way that minimizes the weather impact and causes the least inconvenience to the customer. This was a 2 1/2 day job but the more critical interior work was left to last when the workers were in a hurry to get the work done in the allotted half day. The workers left without giving me a heads up that the finish on the cabinet was still wet & would be wet for at least a day...I found out the hard way. I did ask the company to come back to fill the nail holes on the door jamb (this is something even an amateur would have known to do before painting), and to correct some ugly brush marks and areas that hadn't been adequately coated on the door & cabinet door. They did this with no complaint but the fact it was needed in the first place is the reason I would not use them again or give a recommendation to a friend. I was also disappointed to find paint spray on a window, several plants and a bit of walkway. Could be my expectations are not attainable but I do feel this company fell down on communication, preparation (which is something they make a big deal about in their advertising) and attention to detail in areas that are important (the interior side of the door & cabinet that are always viewed at close range).

Great! Foreman was very responsive. Beautiful job. Covered everything prior to start. Cleaned up after. Would hire again.

Work was incomplete and initial crew needed extensive hand-holding in order to correct obvious touch up mistakes. Office was unresponsive and it took repeated emails and phone calls to fix. I'm sorry I hired them.

The painters were inexperienced . They did not prep well, they painted over dirty areas they failed to clean. They skipped over areas and that did not get painted at all. It was the worst painting experience I ever had especially since I had spoken with the owner in detail prior to the job getting done ,about my expectations. avoid El Gato painting.

El Gato Painting surpassed our expectations on punctuality, quality, speed and price! Owner Ken Slosarik personally came out for an initial walk-through and then to check-in if we were satisfied. It is rare to find a paint company in Silicon Valley where you still have direct contact with the owner, which is a testament to Ken who is passionate about serving customers. Every detail was addressed on the 100+ year old home from prep, to sanding, filling stucco and wood shingle siding cracks. Ken found a way to thread the needle between rainy days for his crew to complete the job in 2 days - which normally takes 3 days. Ken also came in lower on the labor and materials cost than other businesses while also using premium quality paint.

Nothing negative. El Gato Painting & Restoration Inc did the job quickly and results were really good. Yeah, they were pretty good on responsiveness. Yeah, I probably would use them again.

Everything was great from getting an initial estimate to the preparation of the house to the completion of the work. The painters were very organized, skilled and did a great job. I think you may pay a little more with El Gato, but you get a job that is done right, and the way you want it.

Fair. The project was completed in two phases. The kitchen, living room hall and master bedroom were done phase one and went well. Called them back to do the bath and spare bedroom. Bedroom was fine. The bathroom still needs another coat. You can see the roller marks, and the trim is not fully covered. I let them know via a call to the office and by completing the survey--no response. I have used them in the past for exterior painting and flashing repair was was pleased.

They were knowledgeable about what needed to be done and what paint was best for my old house. The work crew was on time and cleaned up everything very nicely. I was especially concerned because that week was VERY windly but all the work was performed professionally and on time.

El Gato painters did an outstanding job. They were fast, thorough, and helpful. They paid attention to every detail.

The painters arrived on time and were easy to work with. The paint on the wood siding was flaking off and the wood underneath showing signs of deterioration. So there was a lot of prep work. Now it looks fine. There's a six year guarantee, so i'm hopeful this coat of paint will last despite a direct Southerly exposure.

I would give an A- if could, just to leave room for "outstanding". They did a good job, for a good price, as quoted, on time.

We were very pleased with the work that was done. In addition, we found the entire team to be very professional throughout the process of working with them. The crew worked efficiently and were mindful of keeping the property cleaned up at the end of each day. Our paint color was a custom color selected over 10 years ago so it took several attempts to match it but they did and it looks great!

Exterior - went very well. They were flexible. I had my house spray washed and two days later, when I was to get my house painted, my next door neighbor was tearing off their roof. El Gato painting accomodated my need for a delay in the pain job. They were punctual and professional. Easy on the plants. They agreed to re-attach a gutter - which they did but not very well. I had them back out to fix but it still isn't done correctly. Inside - The two rooms came out well. However, the paint on one door is already pealing off. I had used them because I had a great experience with the company in Fremont - but that was some time ago. I wouldn't mind continuing to use them for the exterior but I'd probably go to someone else for my interior work.

Went very well. The crew was prompt, professional, courteous. Mike Lindow, the estimator was very helpful on paint color selection and setting things up. The quality of the work was very good except there were a couple problem places we noticed during the final inspection. I'm guessing the crew had to start another job the next day (what would have been the third day) as they seemed very rushed at the end. We asked for someone to come back and clean up some stray paint and repaint two barge boards and fix the side garage door which could not be closed or locked due to crimped weather stripping. The supervisor came the next day and fixed the door problem and took photos of the rest saying it needed to be scheduled. Fortunately the problem areas were on the back of the house, so not a huge big deal. There was no f/u, poor response to our calls/voicemails. It had hit the one month point and I called again and happened to catch the owner. He sent the original painter (who is very nice) over right away and he did a super job of fixing what we asked for plus did other touch up we didn't even know needed any fixing. So everything went very smoothly except at the very end and even that was resolved to our complete satisfaction.

I was referred to El Gato from a good friend that is also a General Contractor. Having used this GC for 3 years I trusted his referrals and knew that he used El Gato for his own work. Although I was North of El Gato's normal "boundary" (I'm in Forest Hills, SF) in the Bay area - Ken came out within a day of calling and provided a very detailed quote, to include options I didnt even see at first (they do power washing of decks too and refinished my front wood door really fantastic, like new). Needless to say, they came out a week later and power washed the entire house, scraped, cleaned and rinsed again - at the same time they did my deck and rails. A week after that they came out and did my entire house in 2.5 days, bringing four great painters to the site - using the last half day to clean all windows, touch up as needed and walk the entire place with me - fixing anything (ANYTHING!) I called out with no questions. This is the 5th house I have painted in my life (once I did it by myself - boy was I dumb!). I have never worked with such a pleasant crew, accommodating provider and with a great/fair price. 3 neighbors already stopped by to get their name - that's an endorsement!

The team was punctual and professional. They provided a free estimate that was right in the middle of estimates from other companies. El Gato assisted with paint colors. They even painted 5 different colors on my house so that I could see what I liked. My house was done in two days. They pressure washed the house the house, sanded the chipping paint, and taped off the windows prior to painting. I have a tile roof and they were careful. They had a board with cushion on the bottom to set on the roof to prevent cracking the tiles. I have found a few paint drops, but not large or very many. I would recommend this company to anyone.

My old house was expertly prepped and painted. The crew was meticulous and made sure all was ready prior to paint. This was a lot of work. They then did a great job helping us sample the colors and make sure we were happy with our choice. The end product is beyond what my expectations. I will happily use El Gato Painting again.

I used them for interior painting about 10 years ago, and they did a beautiful job. The job lasted the entire time I lived there. The guys that did the work were very fun to work and had a great eye for design. I used them again when I moved into my new home this last year, and they did as good a job for me this time around.

I wound up going with another contractor because he could start immediately. However, my interactions with this provider were very prompt and professional, so I would definitely consider them again in the future.

They showed up when they said the would and did a great job, worked around plants and trellises. Interleaved their work with gutter installation so fascias were repaired before gutters were installed but gutters were painted. All work done in about two days. Lots of compliments from neighbors!
