 + -1 moreI called on Tuesday morning and they had someone come by Wednesday at 11am. They gave me a 2 hour window and confirmed the time. They fixed the water issue satisfactorily, and showed it worked. No parts were needed. However, I thought the $75 price was a little high for labor only.
Description of Work: Dishwasher wasn't cleaning. Water was running, but dishes didn't turn out clean. Ace discovered the dishwasher was not filling with enough water, and adjusted water valve.

 + -1 moreThe person who fielded my first call was great. She tried to get me an appointment as soon as possible. I was pleasantly surprised that a next day appointment was possible. They are very understanding in urgency of repairs such as washer/dryer.
Description of Work: Our stack washer and dryer wouldn't drain, and we thought the motor was broken. Luckily, it was just a lid switch and the cost for the part was $29 and labor was $89.

 + -1 moreWhen the repair shop I had scheduled called to tell me they wouldn't be coming that day, I searched Angie's List for a local appliance repair shop that might be able to come over quickly. The repairman from Ace Appliance showed up earlier than estimated, much to my relief, and had my fridge repaired in just a few minutes. He was professional, respectful and nice, he explained why my fridge wasn't working and how he was going to fix it. And now my fridge is working great.
Description of Work: Replace the compressor start relay in my Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator.

 + -1 moreI had a very good overall experience. The person that answered the phone was helpful and set my expectations for the repair visit. Tom called about 30 minutes before the arranged appointment time to make sure someone was at home. He came promptly, and diagnosed the problem quickly. He had the necessary parts stocked in his truck. From the time he arrived to the time he drove away was less than 40 minutes.
Description of Work: Washing machine would not drain. Also, upon inspection, Tom determined the agitator was not working properly. He changed a coupling and some plastic parts in the agitator.

 + -1 moreI chose this company because of it's A rating. After receiving service, I can agree the A is deserved. The person scheduling is knowledgeable and positive. She said the current fee for a service call is $59, which is still lower than another company and service was 2 days faster. Service was scheduled in a 2-hour window, and the man came in the first 20 minutes. He worked quickly and finished in less than 25 minutes.
Description of Work: My 15 year-old Kenmore washer stopped agitating and spinning. Ace Appliance sent a technician who determined the problem was a failed motor coupler. He replaced the coupler and ran the washer through the cycles to make sure the problem was fixed.

He answered my questions about the sticking racks (they were left in the oven during a self-cleaning by the previous owner) and replaced a burnt out bulb for me. He also showed me where to clean the coils of my built in fridge. The office called several times about ordering the glass, and the costs involved for parts and labor. They called me to set an appointment and gave me a 1:00-3:00 time frame. Mr. Forney arrived at 1:45. I was very pleased with his work.
Description of Work: The company ordered and installed replacement glass (from factory) to replace broken glass in oven door.

 + -1 moreFor the past year or so my 5 yr. old washer has been occasionally overflowing on certain cycles, but it was intermittent so I only just now got around to fixing it when it started flooding my normal wash cycles. I called Ace and they cordially scheduled an appointment for a couple of days later. The repairman who arrived was prompt and very professional. He traced the problem to a damaged valve, which I decided to have replaced. The work was done quickly and I was happy with the whole experience.

Very neat. Left all the old parts with us. In and out within 15 minutes. He was very pleasant and professional. Would definitely call them again.

 + -1 moreThen since he was here, I asked him if he could look at my no frost freezer in the garage-that has a snow storm in it, no problem he looked at it and told me it wasn't worth fixing and the exact reasons why. My impressions are that are that he was honest, fast and reliable. I will call them again and I am recommending them to a friend with similar problem with her refrigerator.
Description of Work: Ace is a small family owned and operated business. I called last week and the person Tom, that did the freezers and refrigerators was on vacation. He was due back Tuesday so I called to set up an appointment and the first available was today (Thursday afternoon). I got a call yesterday to tell me he would be here between 1 and 3 pm. He got here at 1:15 well within the time frame I was given. I had an intermittent water leak from my refrigerator. I had figured it might be the ice maker. He came out and looked in both my refrigerator and the top freezer. He pulled the refrigerator out from the wall and fixed the obvious problem and then went searching for the not so obvious problem of where the was was leaking from. I believe it was the freezer drain. He tested the ice maker out to make sure it was working correctly and when he saw it was he then returned the refrigerator to it's place. He was here about 1/2 hr and charged me what Sears would charge to come and just look.

 + -1 moreExcellent work. Tom was very knowledgeable and efficient. He ran the dishwasher and noticed that the problem was only that the Jet Dry had run out and that Sunnyvale is now using hard water. No repair needed. Second, he looked at the disposal, pulled out some aluminum which was clogging it, and it worked fine. He also repaired the washing machine. He did all these things very quickly, and gave me lots of information too. If he could fix more things, I'd hire him to do them all. Price was very fair.
Description of Work: Fixed washing machine that had a clogged pump. Fixed garbage disposal that was jammed. Gave advice on dishwasher that was not drying very well.

WHILE HE WAS HERE I HAD HIM LOOK AT MY ICE MAKER. HE SHOWED ME HOW THE TEFLON COATING WAS WORN OFF AND REPLACED THE UNIT, WITHOUT CHARGING FOR ADDITIONAL LABOR.
