Response from Goodberg Computer Services
We are disappointed when a client feels they did not get the service they desired. In this case, there are many inaccuracies in your review that we’d like to address. Angie’s List members please note that this member has given 50% of her service providers a “C” grade: 1) PUNCTUALITY: We arrived exactly on time for our appointment, rang your bell and one of us waited outside with you (at your direction) until a parking spot could be found. This took about ten minutes, as there was no parking within several blocks of your home. 2) PRICE: You purchased a $39.00 Big Deal coupon good for the first hour of service. You needed one additional hour of service, which you approved in advance, for which you paid $140. 3) PROFESSIONALISM: You thought you had a “simple problem”, but in fact you had a more complex issue than you realized. We attempted to explain to you what was wrong with your wireless network, but you told us you were not interested in technology and just wanted us to fix it. That’s fine, and after more than 30 years in the computer service industry we know that some people don’t want to be informed about their equipment. However, it is misleading of you to turn around and blame us for taking too much time to fix your problem when you refused to become educated about what you needed done! What we did for you: We discovered that you had a very old and faulty modem from Verizon. You resisted our diagnosis, insisting that it “still worked”. Nonetheless, we spent about a half hour on the phone with Verizon on your behalf, for which you paid nothing, getting a new FREE modem sent to you. You complain in your review that Ira’s attitude was unpleasant. We know from long experience that when Verizon refuses at first to replace a modem at no charge to our client, we have to “get tough” with them to get results. In fact, that is exactly what happened in your case. We play act a tough attitude and then they comply. We even explained to you at the time why Ira was demanding on the phone with THEM. At no time did we treat you with anything but professional courtesy. You paid nothing for our labor time securing your free modem. A small point: Our name is Goodberg, not Goldberg.
