Description of Work: I asked Mr. Goodberg to take care of two problems. The major one was that that my desktop computer was terribly slow. He cleaned up a lot of unnecessary stuff, but came to the conclusion that the hardware was wearing out and that he could not restore the system to an acceptable level. He would explain everything as he went along. Since the computer is 10 years old, I had no trouble accepting his diagnosis. |The second problem was getting my laptop computer to connect with the printer by WiFi; he fixed that in a few minutes. | |The first hour, spent on the desktop computer, was on a special deal of $49. The laptop took a few minutes, at his regular rate of $140 per hour, calculated in 15 minute intervals, or $35.

Description of Work: Cleaned up the hard disk on my iMac computer and freed up storage space. Deleted unused old programs and gave tips on how I could delete duplicate photos and music. Was friendly and courteous. I would use him again.

Description of Work: Requested fix for a problem with MS Word. The Goodbergs did this, and more. They cleaned up unused programs, and re-configured my downloads file to make it much easier and quicker to use. Five minutes of instruction has saved me a lot of time and frustration. The extra time was well worth the cost beyond the Angie's List coupon.

Description of Work: He came on time, was pleasant. He saw my old phone and proceeded to input all the info from the OLD phone instead of my new phone to the cloud, which I don't use. Subsequently, I lost all info on the new phone and had to add in and delete a lot of info. He stayed more than 2 hours and offered to take my old phone instead of payment, ostensibly for his daughter. I agreed, but he couldn't unlock it and I told him to bring it back and I would pay him for his time. He discounted the time spent, so I was able to pay him less than he would have quoted. It was a fiasco and I won't use or recommend him. He also kept a record of my passwords, because he could "give" them to me when I couldn't remember them. This was a red flag and made me feel uncomfortable. He gave me a copy, but kept the original. I changed the passwords. I do not want him to contact me.

Description of Work: I was having HUGE problems with my ENTIRE home Internet set up. The whole home wifi configuration made by a prior company collapsed and the Internet service (hard wired, landline, cable Internet) stopped working. I simply had no Internet for the period between Christmas and the end of January. The old company came out twice and could not make it work. So, I called Goodberg and Son and they were FANTASTIC! Knowledgeable, professional, prompt and did a TERRIFIC job. They are our Internet service fixers forever!

Description of Work: They took out the hard drive from my old dead computer, backed up the files to a flash drive, then installed them on my current computer. Part of the $74 was $39 for an hour, per a discount that I previously bought on Angie's List. They were able to complete this in a little over an hour, something I'd needed done for 2 years, but hadn't known it was possible. I'm a very happy customer.
