Description of Work: Work completed in timely manner and quality was good. However, bid received was misunderstood in the way presented. Extra work had to be done and additional charges were added. Tried to negotiate with owner on price, he initially agreed and then said he couldn't. I had to contact him three times to get a final price, after the work was done. He was non-responsive on many levels.

Description of Work: They prepped and stained my front and back decks. My back deck is large and has an ornate custom pergola around the hot tub. They did an outstanding job and they were very nice. Pricey though! I practically fainted when they told me how much it would cost. However they really really really know wood and did a FANTASTIC job

Description of Work: I had some furniture (4 Chaises, and an oval table w/ 4 chairs) refinished with this company, they picked up and dropped off at my convenience and for no charge, and they did an amazing job with the teak. One minor issue that Tim, the owner, took care of immediately. He even offered an additional discount for my trouble. I wish all companies cared that much about customer service. I highly recommend this company and will use them again for yearly maintenance on my teak.

 + 1 moreOur deck and 3 sets of french doors were very weathered and looked awful. Tim came out (on time) and we received an estimate very quickly. He was able to fit us in to his schedule within a week or two. His workers were prompt, polite and did an excellent job. They did a power wash, sanding, and refinishing--3 coats on the doors. A few boards needed to be replaced on the deck due to cracking and wear. The deck and doors now look beautiful. We couldn't be happier with job they did and the price was absolutely fair.I highly recommend Teak Masters. My neighbor saw the work and will be calling Tim for his deck refinishing job in the future.

 + 0 moreOn the day the work started, he and his crew showed up and did everything they told me they would do. They cleaned up at the end of each day as if they were not coming back. They were all very friendly and worked extremely hard. They even had to come an extra half day to finish and I was impressed by how willing he was to make it perfect. I will always hire Teak Master to do my annual maintenance! Super happy customer! Highly recommended!!!
Description of Work: I hired the contractor that built our three decks to do the annual maintenance on them. He did such a horrible job that I had to hire another contractor to redo them less than a year later. After much research on the products that were supposed to have been used, I called numerous deck professionals to come give me an assessment and bid to redo the maintenance. After interviewing five potential candidates, I was most impressed with Teak Master (Tim Gilliam). He was on time, professional, but most importantly he was only one of two of those that I interviewed, that was familiar with Mangaris Wood and what it requires for maintenance. He knew right away by looking at our decks in the horrible condition that the wrong products were used. He did a sample area for me and showed me what it would look like if I were to hire him. I was very pleased.

 + 1 moreI inherited these lovely pieces of furniture, and though they looked terrible when I got them, I saw photos on the internet showing how good they could look (I'm not into that whole weathered look). Tim stopped by and took a look at everything and then quoted me a price - I just about fell over (so much for free furniture). He then explained the time it would take to get them looking perfect, showed me photos from his portfolio of very similar cases - and most importantly - told me they would be worth at least 5 times what I spent restoring them. I took photos and sent them to other companies to find that they were quoting around the same to almost double, only they didn't seem have the enthusiasm Tim showed so I gave the job to him. Tim came by with a big moving truck and hauled everything back to his shop, this helped immensely because I could have him drop them off at my own house when they were looking great. Two weeks later, Tim showed up with a helper and they set up my tables and chairs (he was very patient with my being fickle with where everything should go). I inspected everything carefully and found that they looked better than I could have expected (better than new for sure). Jokingly, the only bad part was now I had to get my yard looking as good as my furniture ;)
Description of Work: Tim and his crew restored two badly weathered tables and 12 chairs for me.

 + 0 moreTim was very helpful, even when I was simply calling for advice. After I'd decided to ask him to do the work. He and thereafter two of his guys arrived as scheduled, performed the work quickly and quietly leaving us with a deck that is far more beautiful than it was when first built. As "keeping it natural" requires maintenance, will be asking Tim to come back on an annual basis.
Description of Work: About a year ago another contractor constructed a new Redwood deck in our backyard. Although he told us that the clear sealer would last for a couple of years it had worn off within a few months. As a result, our new deck was aging quickly. I initially called Tim for advice but ended up asking him to come out and strip, sand, brighten and reseal the deck.

 + 0 moreOverall, things went very smoothly especially considering the challenge we faced. Our original plan was to use the same water-based stain that had been put on the deck when it was new last year. When Tim's guys applied it however, it became very gummy and the color was taking. They tried a few times and Tim went to the local paint store to discuss the problem with them. Then he called to let me know what was going on and we agreed to try again the next day using Australian oil. Tim had his guys re-sand the deck so that it would be ready for the oil on day two. Things went much better with the oil and the deck looks great. Tim was very patient and thoroughly explained everything to me at each stage of the process and I am very happy with the results. I plan on using Teak Master again when it's time to re-stain the deck again down the road...
Description of Work: I hired Teak Master to sand and re-stain an IPE deck that I had installed last year. The original stain was very faded and there were water marks over it from the roofline. Tim and his crew carefully relocated all of my deck furniture, sanded the deck and re-stained it. Once it dried, the carefully put all of the deck furniture back where it had been.
