Jeff Urie Ceramic Tile

I hired Jeff to do a backsplash in our kitchen. He did an incredible job. For weeks after it was done, I kept noticing little things that made me appreciate the quality of his work even more. He was prompt, quick and does amazing work. I highly recommend Jeff!

Started when he said he would. Jeff is a pleasure to communicate with. His crew are local guys he's worked with in the past, they all know their job and are good at it. The quality of work is top notch, the crew doesn't make you nervous and they are mindful of leaving the house functional as they work. Prices went as quoted. No complaints. Would recommend, I also like using a local contractor when it makes sense.

Jeff is a' true blue' artist with his work. His helpers are all easy going and very easy to speak with. Jeff met us at Lowe's to help pick up the tile. He unloaded it for me too as I have a serious heart issue. Jeff is a perfectionist. You can't go wrong.

I can't say enough about how excellent it was to work with Jeff, and about the high quality of his work. I recently bought a foreclosed house with lots of work to be done, and Jeff was by far one of the best contractors I worked with. I would highly recommend him for any of your tile needs. Not only was his work high quality with a beautiful finished product, Jeff was extremely professional, kind, and helpful. His assistant Brian was just as friendly and professional. From the very first meeting, Jeff answered all my questions (which were many since I've never owned a home or done any remodeling before) and gave me great tips and advice. His price was the best of the quotes I received as well. Jeff was able to do things other contractors said were not possible - such as floating the new shower wall tiles out far enough that the existing shower door could be reinstalled. Jeff was willing to help me and make recommendations with each step of the project. He truly went above and beyond in several ways including coordinating his work with another contractor working in the house who was difficult to work with, changing out a piece of tile I did not like the coloring on as much, and even helping me fix my wobbly toilet. Several people have commented on how great my shower and floor look! I could go on, but let me finish by saying I couldn't be happier with the work Jeff performed and I know that if any questions or concerns should arise in the future, Jeff will be there to assist.

I found Jeff on Angies List and was sure glad I did! We had been in the process of planning a bathroom remodel for several years. However, we just hadn't found the right person to do the work. We took a chance and called Jeff solely based on his AL reviews. He was prompt in returning my call and had a very professional manner in setting up a time to give us a quote. We found his quote for our downstairs bathroom reasonable so we decided to give him a try. This try turned into 4 projects within 5 months! Project 1: Jeff and Brian showed up on the date in March we scheduled the work to get started and were incredible thoughout. They were courteous, professional and always kept us in the loop about the status of the project. Jeff's workmanship is excellent. He's been at this work so long, he can quickly size up options and then offer up ideas for areas of the project we weren't so sure about, such as the backsplash for our vanity, tile for the shower niche and border work between the shower and drywall. It was clear early on that Jeff doesn't cut corners. He floats his tile installs within showers so that he gets a level finish and was very open to our feedback about how things were looking thoughout the project. We've found that many contractors we've worked with sometimes defensive about their work when questioned...Jeff handles requests with a smile and can-do attitude. Even though we had agreed to do some of the finishing work on the drywall and paint the walls, Jeff spent extra time really patching things up really cleanly and even texturing....which wasn't in our quote. His coordination of the plumber and shower door specialist were so helpful... he clearly has good relationships with other professionals in the field which helps him get projects done in a timely manner. Project 2: The bathroom turned out so great...we were amazed. So amazed that we felt much more confident about tackling 3 other areas of our house. We then turned to creating a laundry room area in our garage. Jeff recommended a drywall specialist who could help us enclose an area off of our laundry area. Jeff then worked with some funky space and helped us with tile selections and on a design plan. Within 2 weeks we had a transformed space. Again, Jeff was the utmost professional. Project 3: This was fairly similar to the downstairs bath, but just included demo'ing an old vanity and installing a new double sink vanity. Jeff's connections with Tile City and Stone were helpful in the tile selection process. We found some options that were about 1/2 the cost of the tile we had installed downstairs, but looked quite similar. Jeff coordinated the plumbing and within a week we had a transformed bathroom. Again, Jeff and Brian went above and beyond in taking great care in patching/ texturing the walls that left me very little finishing work to do. This is one of the things I really appreciated about them. They allowed us to do so much more work on our budget than most of the other quotes we received. Project 4: The final project was similar to Project 3. Jeff removed and old vanity, old tile, carpet and installed new double-sink vanity and new tile. Jeff was again so courteous and professional. The project turned about amazing.

We finally decided it was time to re-do the small bathroom shower and floor - we got the referral from neighbor who had used Jeff in the past. Jeff came and saw the area - he submitted his estimate (and estimated the plumber and glass work). He gave me 3 tile places to look for tile which would extend a contractor discount to us. We had to wait a bit for the work as he is a very busy tile man - but it gave us lots of time to find and order the tile. He, also, gave us name of plumber and glass people (separate reviews). The work took a bit longer than original estimate as there was some start, stop, start with working around his other jobs and the plumber. But that was fine with us - when he was here, he and his helper were busy, busy, busy. As of this writing, the tile is done and I am waiting for the glass door to be installed tomorrow. Every day when they arrived, they put down tarps from the door to the shower room and cleaned up when they were done. It takes several days to demo and build up the area for the tile - including the plumber and hot-mop water-proofing. Once the tile work starts, it moves faster and we could finally see how things where going to look. It looked good but until the grout went in and tied all the pieces together, I was not sure how it really looked. Then it was like magic - and it is so beautiful. Pictures will be uploaded _ do not have any before but it was the old style fiberglass one. We had a seat added and a shampoo niche. Plus, the grab bar - thinking ahead here. It is beyond what I imagined. Jeff did the work on how the shower niche and glass trim would go on the walls - and we love it! THANKS, Jeff and your helper (I think Brian). Jeff and his assistant Brian did a phenomenal job. He is not the least expensive option out there, but in a competitive world where you typically get what you pay for, you get the high quality of an artisan with Jeff. He and Brian worked diligently on what was a major project. The versailles pattern needs to be installed meticulously because it consists of four different sized tiles that are installed in a specific pattern that creates a beautiful effect on the floor or wall. Jeff also took the time to float the shower walls to make sure they were level and gave maximum protection. While his specialty is tile work and the associated activities in building shower areas and framing bathtubs, he also took on installing our new vanity (5 separate pieces) and two storage cabinets. The bottom line is that he and Brian did a great job. If you want you job to be done right, he is a great choice. We couldn't be happier. He takes pride in his work and makes sure it's done correctly.

Jeff is in a class all his own. He is a professional?s professional, a true artist in his craft. As an architect, I work with a lot of contractors. There is a saying about tile and stone contractors, just ?just lick em and stick em?. After all, time is money, right? Not Jeff. He takes the time to think through the installation, which is very important when dealing with existing conditions, grout lines, tile/stone layout and overall composition of materials, especially with natural stone which can have a lot of variation. And when tile or stone installation is not done well, it?s really noticeable. Jeff discussed all these aspects with us before he started the job and every day as the work progressed. There were a few situations where we changed our minds about a certain aspect of the installation, but Jeff worked with us without any conflict or hesitation. Not always easy for an artist, but again, Jeff is in a class all his own. It was clear Jeff wanted to make sure that we were happy. In fact, Jeff?s entire focus was on making sure that we received the highest quality product, and the quality of his work is the best I?ve seen. Jeff?s price was very reasonable, though for the quality that he provides, the job was worth much more. Jeff is a genuinely great guy. He was prompt every day. He stayed on the job from start to finish. He responded to our calls and/or texts right away. He was very conciseness while he was working. He kept the work site clean every day and took the time to make sure other finishes were always adequately protected. We wish we had more work for him because we truly enjoyed having him work in our home.

he can do much more than the ceramic tiles?.he has installed full kitchens before, so if you need help with demo or post work, he's the guy?.he's very careful and serious?.i'm fussy and i felt comfortable enough that i left the house to leave them alone.

Everything went great. Jeff is a talented master craftsman. He is also punctual and dependable. He returns texts and calls immediately. Jeff cheerfully answers all questions and freely offers tips on tile maintenance, etc. He is a genuinely nice person.

Provider never showed up or called or text me that he would be unable to make it. This was some one with a A rating. this was my first experience using Angie's list. Very disappointing Text provider couple days latter to see if he might still be interested no reply. Hope other A rating providers are not like this.

Jeff responded quickly to my initial inquiry about the work and within a day came over to look at the project. Within 30 minutes he had clearly described how he would approach the job with respect surface preparation and layout, and type of grout material he would suggest we use (we had already selected the tile we wanted) . Jeff gave us a quote which was very fair. Frankly my main concern was not price, but rather the quality of the work and the integrity of the guy that was performing it. I was not disappointed in either regard. Jeff is a great craftsman and is honest and aboveboard in his dealings. On this project I had received other bids. In the future, (I have two other projects in mind) I will just go to him and have him do the because I know the quality of his work and that I can trust him. He is absolutely first class.

From the very beginning Jeff was great. He was very responsive in terms of coming to take a look at the job and providing an estimate. We scheduled a time right after Christmas and he was able to fit me in. The job was beautifully done and within a couple of days. I had wanted an accent around the window and he helped me come up with the perfect touch. All clean up was done every evening and they were a pleasure to have working in the house all day! Thanks for your hard work Jeff!

We can't be more thrilled with Jeff's tile work. He is a master at what he does and he takes his time in every detail of his work. Jeff IS attention to detail. He is simply good to his word ! He arrives on time and is extremely conscious of cleanup while is working in your home and when he leaves at the end of the day/job. We recently purchased a home built in '97. While we were expecting just his talents for tiling the remodel, we found that he could help us enlarge the new shower space and have it "hot moped." He also asked if we needed help installing the vanity AND the countertop. He put the vanity in himself as well as picking up the quartz countertop and its' cutting and installation.....When it came time for the seamless glass doors (which we hadn't even dealt with), he made a suggestion and we followed up......the doors are beautiful and the price was GREAT. Jeff's best attributes is that he listens and makes suggestions. He works with you.....not against you. He will always have an open mind to any of your concerns during the project. I will admit, I am a very detailed oriented person. Since I am home all the time, I would "hover" around to see the job progressing and ask questions which would tend to annoy a lot of craftsmen.....NOT JEFF ! He was interested with anything I had to say or ask....every step of the way. Jeff did a great job on our first project...and we'll be doing a master bath remodel with him soon. He gave me everything I'd ask for and more! He literally helped solve any problem before I had to ask? His price was extremely fair...for all that he did it was a true bargain and helped my budget at the same time! I could go on and on about his quality of work, but that work is certainly equal to the quality of person that he is. If you want someone who is good at what they do, and, is honest and fair.....you want Jeff Urie !

Had old linoleum in kitchen and downstairs bath. I purchased porcelain tile and had Jeff install it. He does all the work himself. He pulled up all the old linoleum, prepped the floors, and set the tile. Pulled up toilet in bath and reset it when tile was done. He did an outstanding job--the floors are beautiful! A few days after he completed the job I saw a minor crack in one of the grout seams--Jeff promptly came out and repaired it. I would definitely call Jeff again for any tile jobs that I need done. He is a pleasure to work with.

Our backyard was transformed by the beauty of this intricate Spanish-style tile work on our BBQ island and shelf. Jeff was very professional, efficient, and very responsive to our questions and concerns right away. After the job was done and we realized that a couple tiles had been knocked off, he came the next day to fix them. We will definitely be calling Jeff for our next tile job, and we would highly recommend him to others.

Jeff was right on time for all of his 4 appointments: his estimate, the installation (2) and the sealing. On each occasion he and his assistant were courteous, friendly and professional. I arranged to purchase the tile for the backsplash and Jeff gave us an estimate to have it installed. His actual price came in over $100 less than his estimate. Jeff laid down protective cloth so our flooring would not be effected by the installation. He and his assistant worked steadily, taking a break only for lunch. He needed a day for the tile to dry so he could calk in between them. Then he came back a day later to seal the tile. The job came out fantastic, beyond our expectations. I highly recommend Jeff for your tile installation needs.

Work was performed as promised. Jeff went the extra mile and picked up additional tile when a key piece was missing. He also provided a great suggestion for grout color in the kitchen. Very pleasant to work with. I have already used him a second time.

This is the second time I have utilized Jeff's services. I had damage to my old floor and was concerned wih matching or blending the new tile with my other room. He was so helpful in getting just the right look. He made suggestions and went out of his way to get the job done quickly because it was the kitchen. Cleanup, as always, was well done and thorough. I can't praise him enough and would have him back for any tile needs.

Jeff did and excellent job on the travertine and granite countertop in my Master Bath remodel last year, so I had him come back this year to take care of my guest bath, a powder room floor and a laundry area floor. Jeff is conscientious about his work, and shows up when he says he will. He brought me travertine samples (which I then purchased separately online/on the phone), and he brought all the travertine and materials to my house. The work progressed on schedule, and Jeff was happy to accommodate some slightly late starting times to suit my schedule. He's an easy guy to have around the house, and he does his best to minimize the disruption. Though tile is his specialty, he can also do related work, so he handled the plumbing, sink cabinet installation, faucet and drain connections and baseboards in my job. It all turned out looking great, on time, and on budget.

This is the second time we have used Jeff. Our first experience was with tile repair. He did such a wonderful job that we didn't hesitate to hire him for a bigger project. Actually, we didn't even consider another person for the job! Jeff completed the job in a timely manner and it looks beautiful. He gave advice on what type of tile to purchase and what would look best in our home. We had some slab problems and he took care of them for us so that our floors would last for a very long time. The project took about seven days to complete and each day upon returning home from work my house was left clean. He took special care to keep our downstairs bathroom and laundry room in working order for most of the project, and I truly appreciated that. Jeff's prices were very reasonable and I would not hesitate to hire Jeff again for any project in my home.

Jeff completed tile repair in our kitchen and dining room area. He did a fabulous job and was very easy to work with. We have now hired him to tile our entry way, hall, downstairs bathroom and laundry area. His prices are reasonable, but more important he does a great job.

Jeff did a good job on installing the tile, however in the bid he was to remove and replace one piece of tile by the jacuzzi tub for my plumber to gain access to a fixture. After many text messages back and forth since October 9th, on October 11th, he said he would call before he came, no call. On October 14th, I sent another text to see if he was okay, since I hadn't heard from him, for him to come over and complete. On October 14th he texted he could come over in the afternoon, however I work on Mondays. I gave him the option of either, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. He said he would "keep that in mind", but if not he would be here Friday. Never heard from him on either Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. On Tuesday October 22nd I finally asked him if he could finish the job and if not, I'll need to call someone else. This is the reply I received "Hi Jan, I'm sorry, but I have become completely swamped for the next month. I was trying to find some time, but it's been difficult to do so. Best Regards, Jeff. Upset, my husband called him, and never received a return phone call. For the reviews that say he was responsive and completes a job on time, this was definitely not our experience. Shame on me for paying him in full and trusting his promise to come back and complete.
