Advanced Electric

This is my first time using Angie's List to hire any kind of service, and it worked great! I read the reviews on Advanced Electric here on Angie's List, and the reviews were excellent! I called Advanced Electric, Roman quoted me a price, and we scheduled a service visit for 6/20. Ryan was the electrician that showed up. He was very nice, respectful, and right on time. He told me what the problem was, replaced the fan, and was in & out of my house in 45 minutes. I paid exactly what I was quoted. I highly recommend Advanced Electric and will use them again!

He was really professional. He seemed to be knowledgeable and gave me some good information. He showed up when he said he would and answered the questions I had the best that he could. He was very patient and waiting while I talked to the city guy.

He was on time, gave me a quote, was neat and clean, did the job and charged me less than the original quote. He said it took less time than he thought!

Advanced Electric responded to my call and analyzed the situation. The previous owner had never done any electrical maintenance for the pool in the past 35 years and all the electrical connections were extremely outdated and dangerous. Roman explained to me the problems in layman's term. Also he referred to me a great sub-contractor who cut the concrete in order for him to do the rewiring. Although there were some frustrations due the antiquity of the system. The job was completed in a week as expected. Advanced Electric was professional. They definitely know what they are doing

Roman called me within a day of my initial call and explained a lot on the phone with me regarding the probable cost and the work to be done. His foreman, Ryan came to do the work on time. He was very thorough, fixed / installed everything perfectly and cleaned up and vacuumed. Great job from Advanced Electric! I WILL hire them again!

Roman called me back within a day. He was personable on the phone and he asked me to take a picture of the switch that had blown so he could show up with the right switch. I thought this was very proactive. He was punctual, quick and seemed very knowledgeable. I would use him again in a minute. Excellent service.

Ryan arrived right on time. We chatted most of the time while he did the work. When finished, he asked me if I was satisfied. I told him I was quite happy with the results. He cleaned up and left my home. I am very happy with the job he did. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him for any electrical job. The cost was more than fair. Advanced Electrical is a great company.

Joel, the electrician, arrived on time, worked efficiently. Cleaned both work areas after completing the installations. I was very happy with the service.

The circuit box was on the outside. They did not need to go through any drywall to install outlet. I checked the outlet and it works. He was very cordial and followed through. He came out when he said he would. He was very polite. There was no mess and they were very clean. He finished when he said he would.

Overall, Roman is someone I'd hire again in a minute. Highly recommended.

I called Advanced Electric and Roman answered the phone himself. He was on a worksite but called me back shortly thereafter. He came by that afternoon to give me an estimate. He was professional, prompt, and provided the estimate via email within a couple hours. His license and insurance checked out as well. After receiving two other bids, I selected him to do the work. He came out to do the work himself on a Saturday morning. He was great about calling and keeping me current as to his arrival (which was within 10 minutes of when he quoted). His work was professional, personable and he left the workshop clean and tidy. He was the only electrician to provide a written estimate (the other two, one was just verbal and the other on the back of an envelope). Honestly, I was half expecting his bid to be the highest of the three, yet it was the lowest! Considering my regular (now former) electrician was not returning phone calls, it felt like having to find another doctor when yours retires. Roman put my mind at ease and I couldn't be happier with his work. I can highly recommend Advanced Electric to my friends and colleagues, and will use them for all my future electrical needs. This is a 10 out of 10!

The house was completely rewired with metal covered (BX) cable to protect against possible rodent encroachments. This was a difficult job because there is no access from beneath the house, and limited access from two crawl spaces over the roof, both of which have blown-in insulation several inches thick. This required that some notches be cut into drywall and wood walls, but at our request the electricians made no cuts into our historic redwood panelling. Over the course of this work the ambient temperature averaged 100 degrees Fahrenheit, but the crew were always upbeat, courteous. The electricians were respectful of our personal belongings and covered some items and areas with drop cloths where needed. All devices (electrical outlets, switches) were replaced and brought up to code. Also three smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector were installed per building code. Several circuits were reconfigured for code and safety reasons, the air conditioner, dishwasher and garbage disposal all are on separate circuits now. At our request, after the work had started, an additional closet light fixture was installed, and an outdoor patio lamp and four hanging light fixtures for the front porch which we had purchased separately. Also two outdoor electrical outlets were installed and the old flex conduit was replaced with pipe, per building code. Finally, a new service upgrade (200 amp breaker box) was installed at our request and in conformance with requirements from Southern California Edison, which also required a new grounding cable, (and I should mention, all of our sockets are now grounded). All of this work took eleven business days, and passed a city inspection with flying colors.

Our main circuit breaker fried on Sat 7/16 leaving us without power for the entire house. We called our AC company (since the trouble started with our AC circuit breaker) but they are not certified to handle electrical panels. We were literally, and figuratively, in the dark. We consulted the Yellow Pages but there are so many to choose from, it was difficult to decide where we should turn. I could not do an on-line Angie's list search as a result of no power but I did have my June mailer (Thanks Angie's!). I found Advance Electric in the mailer showing they were awarded the Super Service four years in a row. So we called and left a message. Within two hours we got a call back (the only vendor that did within 24 hours) from the owner, Roman. He not only said he could do the job, but outlined in detail everything that had to be done. We were clueless, before we talked to Roman, about all the inspection and permit requirements. He called us again on Sunday , provided the names and telephone numbers for the DWP people we had to contact, early on Monday, to get the ball rolling. Roman said he would handle the permit from the Dept. of Bldg & Safety if we liked (heck, yes). We confirmed the job, thought the estimate was not only fair but below what we thought the cost would be, and by 2:00 PM on Monday, he had his team of Joel and Kevin (great guys) at our home as they began the process of tying off the hot wires and removing the old box. They returned on-time, 8:00 AM Tuesday morning and began the task of replacing our old panel. At 1:30 PM, we were back on line and by 4:00 PM, the job was totally completed. Everything was handled professionally and remarkably on-time considering the immediacy of our request. I have 20 years of commercial construction vendor experience, as a client, and have never had anything go as smoothly as this job did. If Angie's had a AAA+ rating, Advance Electric would make that list.

Very professional; everything was explained to me and patiently answered all questions I had; made recommendation on waht needs to be done and what can wait; price is reasonable.

From the estimate to completion of the work, these guys were quick to respond and did very professional work for a very fair price.

Roman and Ryan are very prompt and professional. Will definitely use them again.

The lights are much better than they were. We were going to use them before for another project but we didn't end up doing it. The owner came out and he was nice. He said that they have workman's comp and are registered and bonded. He was very professional. They are very punctual.

The kitchen light fixture occasionally would not turn on after a rain. I called the company to 1) remove the existing fixture 2) inspect the fixture and connections to determine if the problem was the fixture or something else 3) install a new fixture. The owner answered the phone, proposed a possible reason for the problem and scheduled a service call for the next day. Two electricians arrived on time, replaced the fixture, explained the cause of the problem with the previous fixture and charged $115.00, exactly the amount quoted to me. They were professional and courteous.

After seeing the excellent reviews on Angie's List, I called Advanced Electric for a quote on needed electrical/lighting work. Roman came by the same day I called, which I appreciated. He was punctual and very professional. He asked detailed questions to ensure that we were on the same page regarding what I wanted. I needed two motion sensor lights installed outside. A previous electrician, who had given me a higher quote, was going to run conduit from the crawl space up the outside wall. Roman's quote was lower and for better work: to run wire in the attic so there is no exposed conduit on the outside wall. His quote also included installing an indoor switch in a closet to control the lights manually if needed. The other guy was going to install switches in a box on the outside wall. I also needed new wire pulled in a bathroom so that the 3 way switch would be operational (there are 2 entries into this bathroom), and have 2 additional outlets installed. The other guy was going to leave the existing, cloth covered wire in place (this house was built in the 40's) and just pull new wire for the additional outlets. Roman's quote included pulling all new wire in the bathroom. I'd had a handyman cut a hole in the wall to install the larger junction box to accommodate the switch and new outlets. He made a bigger hole than necessary, so Roman's quote included having his workers return after the drywall repair to complete the installation of the switch and outlets. The work was done today. Ryan and his helper showed up on time, did quality work, and cleaned up after themselves. All in all, I was very satisfied with this company and would recommend them.

The job was professionally done from start to finish. They were done in half a day.

They sent 2 guys to the house, both were very clean and efficient in their work. They were respectful of our stuff, and one even took his shoes off ( with out me asking ) because it had rained that morning and we just had new carpet installed. The price was reasonable for the amount of work we had done, and we were extremely happy with the service. We will certainly use them again in the future.

The owner, Roman came on the day he promised for an estimate. Great guy and very friendly. He said estimate may seem high but he covers all his workers with comp etc... and runs legitimate business. Yes, estimate seemed a little high, but then I got two workers who labored for about 4 hours and did a professional and clean job. The price also included installation of the fan for my daughters room. All in all worth it from my perspective.

We had an electrical outage in our commercial facility which we could not figure out the cause for. It was a mjaor emergency since our production had stopped. They were able to get their foreman to our site quickly and he was able to resolve the problem.

Work went great, the tech was very nice and prompt. They even fixed another issue with the circuit breaker while they were at the house.
