Straight Line Construction

Almost 5 years later it started leaking in 3 places, the worst being in the living room. We had to wait a couple of days for them to fix it. They couldn't say why it leaked as supposedly everything looked fine. Then next storm it was leaking again in L. R. with water now going down the wall. They said a nail had popped out. Survived one light rain but now is leaking third time! I don't even want them touching my roof again but it needs to be fixed. I don't know what to do to make sure it gets fixed right as I think some other entity needs to assess the problem.

Straight Line sent us their "A" team and these gentlemen were top notch professional. Pablo, Tony & Ken arrived early and worked hard all day. These guys were a cheerful group of excellent workers and we appreciate their good work!

Excellent Straightline roofing put a new roof on a rental property we have in Placerville Ca. There were a couple of unexpected issues that arose that thier team took care of in a reasonable amount of time and cost. They had the project done within 3 days from the time they started tearing the old roof off till the new roof was on and they were on thier way. Thanks Straightline for a job well done.

Roof removed. Replaced w/superior products, in a satisfactory time frame. Workers were very nice & pleasant & cleaned up all debris. They also upgraded the under layment at no additional charge to me.

Their crews showed up on time and go right to work. They were all English speaking and very courteous. They explained their plan each day and addressed any concerns we had. Their cleanup process was beyond expectations, triple checking everywhere.

Straight line Construction owner came to my home and met with me. Jack gave me a complete estimate and covered everything with me, and at the end of his proposal Jack asked if I had any question that he could answer for me. I had a couple of questions and Jack answered each one in detail for me. I slept on his proposal a few days and called his business and made an appointment to sign the contract. After signing everything I waited to be put on their schedule. In two weeks Straight Line called and said they had a date and made sure it worked for me. From then on I got multiple email updates and phone calls from the different teams that would be showing to perform each step of the job. Communication was over the top excellent. Every foreman called the night before and confirmed their arrival time the next day. The guys always showed up right on time and ready to work. 4 teams showed up to do different steps. Each foreman and every employee were very helpful when I had any questions, they stopped to explain each item I questioned. All of the crews were very professional and did a great job. They were very fast and efficient doing what they do. the jobsite was cleaned up every night before they left and they checked in with me to insure I was ok with the job and clean up they had done each day. The roof came out looking great and the gutters drain just like they are supposed to. excellent job to all that worked with me. Thank you Straight Line Construction crews. The workers arrived on schedule, were easy to communicate with, worked through the day, and kept us apprised of anything they thought we needed to know (e.g. when they left briefly to buy a part at a local store). We were very impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. They were careful with my plants, didn't use any bad language and cleaned up everything afterwards.--We will use this company again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for gutter replacements.--Our gutters look GREAT now and work much better than the old ones.

If ever there was a company that truly deserves 5 stars, it is Straight Line Construction. From the very beginning when Jack, the owner, came out to give us an estimate to the end when the gutters were put on and Brad walked the roof and made sure all was perfect, this was hands down the most professional company I have ever worked with. Our story starts in Sept 2015. Our rental house needed a new roof so I contacted Straight Line and 2 other roofing companies for estimates. One company didn't even meet with us, they just assessed the roof and dropped off their bid on our front step. The other company did meet with us and emailed their bid soon after. Both of those bids were not quite one page and barely described all of the work that needed to be done. Their prices were similar. Then there was Jack. He really impressed me. He took the time to sit with my dad and answer any questions he had without seeming rushed or annoyed. We ended up sitting on this because my dad wasn't ready/able to spend $10k on a new roof. Fast forward to April 2016. The tenant living in the house notified us the roof was leaking so now it became urgent to fix. Money was still an issue so I decided to get one more estimate for a total of 4. That company didn't impress me either as their bid was the least detailed of all but they did tell me about a program called Ygrene, or energy backwards. This is a fantastic financing program for energy related home improvements that luckily includes roofing. Instead of traditional financing based on the person's credit, the loan is based on the home's equity and the payments are tied to the property tax so you pay them at the same time. I applied online and was quickly approved for $30k. I browsed through the list of contractors they work with and was so happy to see Straight Line's logo! Their price was the highest but in the end I think it was comparable because I knew exactly what we paid for and he didn't try to add extra money on the back end. The bid Jack gave us was 2 pages long and exactly as detailed as I would expect for a roofing/construction job. He included eave vents, O'Hagan vents, metal eave plates and so many more items the other companies didn't bother to include. This level of detail starting with the proposal gave me a strong indication that the entire job would be very high quality with every detail paid attention to - which is very important when you don't know a thing about construction or roofing and are trusting people to do a job good that will last 30+ years. Day 1 - tear off one layer of shingles, install waterproof underlayment and clean up. Day 2 - install new shingles, new flashings, ice and water barrier under the flashings, roof done. They cleaned all the junk and left everything spotless. Day 3 - install new gutters, final inspection. Job complete. Monica was such a dear in finding a hole in their booked schedule and slipped us in quickly. A few days/a week before they started I received an email with a preparation list so I could notify the tenant of what she needs to do before they come. Each day before the workers arrived I received a reminder email with the name of the foreman. At night every day during the job I received a call personally from Jack checking in to see how things are going. The level of communication is outstanding. Each person, Ray, Noel, Jason and Brad all took time to explain the progress to me (and didn't make me feel stupid), let me climb up on the roof so I could inspect as I chose and were very professional. Brad even went the extra two miles and wanted to ensure the water heater pipe was attached properly since they had replaced the vent. He noticed it was old and wasn't properly attached to the vent in the ceiling so he actually went down to Home Depot, got the heater tape or whatever was needed to fix it, and did it for me! That's the best thing about the people in this company, they remove your stress. That's one less thing I have to worry about since I don't (yet) know a thing about home repairs. We still have to have the inspector come out but I'm sure it will easily pass. We will receive a packet with the warranty, permit, etc. for our files. Straight Line is also an Owens Corning preferred contractor so that's another way I knew they do quality work. They do everything to honor the mfg's warranty, nothing less, no shortcuts. The best thing about having a job well done is peace of mind. I no longer have to worry when it rains or the wind kicks up because I know the roof is safe and protected thanks to this company. I hope the workers know how appreciated they are and how important their jobs are in making our homes safe and protected. It's hard work and they deserve many compliments for what they do every day. First off let me say that we have dealt with many companies and contractors in the remodeling of our El Dorado Hills home. These guys rank up there with the best! From the first time that we spoke with Jack to the last crew to leave the property their communication was fantastic. We knew exactly who was coming and when they were coming. Full tear-off of our existing roof and the yard was spotless after. The new roof looks fantastic and we are very confident in Straight Line and their craft. We look forward to using them on projects for years to come.

Straight Line did a fantastic job installing our new roof. They were professional, thorough and quick. I would highly recommend them in the future.

On October 12,2015, I wrote a negative review on Straight Line. The next day, I received a call from the owner of the company. He was very upset and wanted to know exactly what happened. He apparently did not get accurate information from his staff. He appologized and asked if there was anything he could do. We told him that we were still out $900 for work that was done by our Gutter Helmet people and not covered by our insurance. He said he wanted to reimburse us and did in fact send us a check for $900! I feel that the owner of Straight Line did right by us and that the company deserves another chance. I believe that had we talked to him from the beginning, none of this would have happened! I'm basing my new rating on the owners responsiveness. Diane Bagdonas

We had Straight Line replace the gutters and roof on our home in Camino, CA. I could not have asked for a better experience. From initial contact to finished product Straight Line is hands-down one of the best companies I've worked with. They did exactly what they promised when they promised it. Quality is outstanding. Service is second to none. I will use Straight Line for any future projects I need and will recommend them to all I know in need of home construction projects.

They did the roof on my house and did such a great job I had them come out this time to do my garage. Work was quick, precise, and neat. Plan on doing business with them again.

Company was responsive and proactive. Received calls daily from the office letting me know what to expect the next day, also received daily email of who was arriving and what to expect for the day. Each day each foreman would call the night before and verify they were coming and when to expect their arrival. Superintendent visited site on three of the four days. Owner called to check in and see how things were going. I identified one issue that was not caught before the crew left for the day The superintendent stopped by to see issue for himself. Arrangements were made to correct this issue. Each foreman would explain the use and care of their particular product their crew was responsible for installing so I fully understood how to use or care for the products. The crew cleaned up everyday before leaving. They were always responsive, even when a field change was required. I have no complaints at all for the services provided. Would definitely refer them to a friend or family. There we no hidden surprises.

The crew was very professional. The job went very smoothly. We had one change order because the dry rot was much more extensive than expected; however they did not charge me an arm and a leg because of the change. They were very detailed, organized and friendly. The owner called me almost every night to see how the job went and if there was any way they could improve their service. I would definitely use them again!

The President, Jack, met with me and answered all my questions. Very patient and professional. The foreman, Noe, was very friendly and professional. Job was completed quickly and accurately.

Straight Line did another fantastic job for me. The materials supplied were quality and the workmanship was top notch. They kept the job site clean and organized. The final result is amazing. I knew we probably needed a new roof, but Jack, the owner, gave us the various options, including repairing the leak vs installing a new roof. We chose to have new roof installed. Project was on time and at the price we agreed upon. All employees were very professional. Great company to work with!

The team at Straight Line Construction are professionals and work like a well-oiled machine - and one that you can simply trust. They did what they said they would do and even more, using quality products and ensured the work was done to high standards. There was no high pressure sales pitch, just contracted for what we needed and they offered advice through their experience. Although they were our highest bid, we ultimately went with SLC because of great reviews, work done in-house, finance options, certified contractor for lifetime warranty, and they expressed care and concern of their employees. From Robert our project manager, to Michelle and Megan in the office, to each of our foreman and crew - their workmanship and communication was excellent. Boy, did the crew work hard, and they were very focused on clean-up!! It was simply amazing how they juggled so many moving parts, schedules, my delays, and took the time to answer and resolve a ton of questions for this inexperienced homeowner on her first re-roof. We also received daily phone calls and emails confirming arrival times and the teams were punctual. They indeed went beyond my expectations and our roof is stunning, in fact neighbors have even stopped me on the street commenting on the great results! This whole process made me feel like our happiness was their highest priority (what a concept!) It was a lot of money for us, but it was a staggering amount of work and we could not be happier with our choice of contractor, the warranty and the results of this important project! Our peace of mind is worth every penny. :)

They did everything that was expected and more.

Jack communicated very well about all aspects of the project. He always responded promptly to phone calls and followed up daily when project was in progress. The project started on aTuesday morning (6AM) and the work was completed Thursday by noon. I was very concerned about protecting my Leafguard gutters from damage and they did a great job to see that they were not damaged. I did not personally meet my project manager till the project was finished but he left his card the first day when I was unavailable. The only glitch experienced was when completed there were some areas of paper (from top of felt) visible along gutter line and edges of house however this was taken care of the following morning so all in all very happy with results. I had received 3 separate quotes for this project and in choosing between 2 of them whose estimates were pretty equal decided to go local and was impressed with the detail Jack went into on our first visit. When he says his estimate visit will take approximately 2 hours he isn't kidding!

In Elk Grove, CA. Straightline did a great job on our roof. Richard was our foreman and he was experienced and knowledgeable. They performed all the repairs that were in the contract and also replaced some of the dry rot we had for a nominal amount. This is the third time we have had some of the valleys repaired, but they still continued to have problems. So far, everything seems to be working better than it has since the home was built. Everyone from Phil, the estimator, Richard and Israel, the foremen, to Meghan and the staff were incredibly helpful. During the work, both Richard and the office either called or sent emails to provide updates pertaining to the time of arrival and when completion would be done. Just a great experience if you have to have the expensive of repairing your roof!
