Spectrum Pool Care

This is the second review from me this month. We were so pleased with the company and especially Brain, the technician, that we asked for a quote on an add on for our heater and filter. I checked around and their price was good and I trust them. Everything works great and Brian was very helpful and pleasant. I will not even shop the next time I need a repair or new equipment

See above -- the repairman responded quickly to my call, gave a suspiciously low estimate, returned when scheduled to do the work (clean/repair heater and filter gauge, drain and clean spa), without charging a penny over the low estimate. Later the maintenance guy came to train me in the art of spa maintenance. Both men were knowledgeable, thorough and good-humored. And did I mention they didn't charge a penny over their low estimate? Great service.

We got the quote last year and finances eventually prohibited us from having the work done. Fortunes changed for the better this year and we called them back right away, and it didn't take them but a moment to call up the old quote. The price they quoted us was very fair, because the materials they use are top-quality. It was also a fast process: The first day, Tomo came out to drain the pool just enough to do the work. The second day, he installed the handrail and it looks beautiful -- it's safe, solid and the stainless steel looks *great*. Once he was through, he gave us detailed instructions on when to refill the pool, which we completed today. Tomo's work is absolutely terrific! It looks beautiful and I know my sister and I will be able to get in and out of the pool safely now, instead of struggling with our arthritic knees and hoping we wouldn't fall backwards trying to get out. I can't say enough good about these folks, especially Tomo. All of my questions were answered quickly and completely, Everything is spelled out in writing -- their contracts are clear, yet detailed and concise. They have given us safety, but more than that they've given us peace of mind. You will, however, have to pull the permits yourself for the work they do, which is fully understandable, since pulling permits is a NECESSARY yet time-consuming process in most municipalities. When we can afford it, we'll be calling them back to replace our pool light, because it hasn't worked in years. I'm really looking forward to having my deep blue light back, because the pool looks even more beautiful with it on.

The company that has cleaned my pool for years tried twice to fix my heater. I spent several hundred dollars each time on parts and labor and it still was not fixed, Brian came out and cleaned it and did not charge me for anything except the labor and it is fixed. They are putting in a new remote control for the valves, pump and heater this week. Great company!

We bought a house with a pool that is currently unusable. Have never owned a pool before and was given new equipment as a gift but don't know what to do with it. Our pool also has cracks so not sure if we need to resurface or can just clean and fill. I called to try and have a professional come and give us some info, see if we need repairs, and inquire about regular service. The man who answered the phone was not interested in coming out to take a look. He said resurfacing would cost about $5000-$6000 without even asking how large the pool is and didn't want to discuss any further unless we were willing to spend that kind of money. We are willing to spend that kind of money to get it up and running, but I didn't appreciate the approach and the unwillingness to discuss any further unless I committed so I promptly excused myself and hung up. Will never call again!

My pool was losing suction when I plugged in the vacuum. I called Spectrum on 9/26 they said they would have a tech call me back to set up an inspection. Chris from Spectrum called me that same day to set up an appointment for the following day. He gave me a time window and then said he would call when he was on his way to my house. And he did! Never having a pool, I created my own problem by incorrectly attaching my pool vacuum. Chris promptly fixed the problem and then took the time to go over a few pool basics with me. I appreciated the professionalism and honesty. I have put Spectrum's number in my rolodex and call them for any future pool service.

They are great, show up on time, and their price was more affordable than the competition.

I am very happy with the service, and my new pool guy. They will be cleaning my pool weekly from now on.

Everything went well. They were very personable, thorough, and professional. They were also very honest about what could and could not be done which I appreciated.

The Spectrum people were professional, hard working and focused on solving the problem economically. I would recommend without hesitation. I was really impressed with their attitude, work ethic, knowledge and integrity.

It was excellent. I received a return phone call the same day, and Chris showed up about 2 days later and completed the work.

Not only did they diagnose the problem (not what my old pool man was telling me), but they fixed it and made it look completely like new. The pool was ready for swimming the next day and it was a good thing since the weather had finally turned hot. The first month's payment included an overhaul of the system to to bring the pool's salt system into balance and fix the missing sensor. Future fees are less than half what I have been paying. I am thrilled with Spectrum's service.II

What a pleasant surprise! The technician, after initially determining that the timer should be in working order after all, asked a few questions. It turned out that after another pool company had serviced our spa recently, they set the spa to override the timer but didn't tell us. We couldn't get the timer to turn off & it was running 24/7. After some days we finally turned off the circuit breaker to the spa so it would stop running constantly, and called the prior company asking about it. They simply said that they didn't touch the timer, & offered no solution. Fortunately, Behrang from Spectrum is honest, figured out what had happened, reset the override & showed me what had occurred so that we could avoid a reoccurrence. Since he didn't actually repair the timer he didn't even charge their standard service call to be applied against actual work done. It would have been worth paying the approximately $30 just for assessing & correcting the issue. What's more, kudos to Behrang & his employer for hiring him; he could have allegedly fixed the timer & charged for the task, or even sold me a new one. What would I know? He didn't try to do either. This spa company has a client in us for the life of our spa. One last amazing anecdote: I had closed the screen door & Behrang hadn't noticed so ran into it. He was so mortified that it suffered minor damage that he absolutely insisted on giving us a check on the spot for the cost to replace it. First, he is not the first person to run into the screen. Second, he did a good job repairing the minor damage so that it really wasn't noticeable. Third, it wasn't his fault in the first place & I was greatly relieved that he hadn't hurt himself. He wouldn't take 'no' for an answer about his check, so I took it, telling him that I was sure my husband would see the screen & agree that the screen was really fine (which was the case). I called Behrang & told him we were tearing up his check but greatly appreciated his offer. After so many disappointing experiences with service providers & the general public about taking responsibility, his actions spoke volumes about how there are still those out there who believe in 'doing the right thing'. He went above & beyond that & we were very impressed. I hope that Spectrum Pool Care is taking good care of Behrang - he is a gem.

I was pleased with their presentation and prompt response and after nearly a month of service I am quite satisfied.

I called and asked for an estimate to convert our pool to salt water; Mark responded to my request the same day, called and set up a time to give a quote. He arrived on time, gave me an estimate, and I accepted it a few hours later. He was able to schedule a time a couple of days later to do the installation. I was sort of nervous about making the change, but Mark reassured me and made it a painless, seamless transition. Great overall experience.

It was wonderful! He came out within an hour of my call, and he did the job well.

I am always impressed with the quality of the service. Before they even began our weekly service, they sent someone out to assess the chemical and salt levels of the pool and make sure the pool was ready (it was a new plastering job) to be serviced. They found that the plaster wasn't scrubbed adequately and recommended that our pool installer (not Spectrum) re-scrub it immediately. They were pro-active, friendly and very knowledgeable. Even Amanda who answers the phone is great: responsive and helpful. We literally couldn't be happier. They might be a bit more expensive than other pool companies, but worth every penny.

We have been using Spectrum Pool Care for about two years now and our overall experience has been excellent. Pool service companies are only as good as the individuals doing the work and Spectrum seems to choose their employees carefully. We have had a couple of mid - summer problems when the heat caused algae to grow in between weekly visits. All we had to do is call and someone always showed up immediately to fix the problem.

Called them on a Saturday morning in state of panic as we were having a pool party at 2:00 p.m. and pool heaters we not working. Technician was on the 405 freeway headed to another appointment when I reached him on his cell phone, he said he would see what he could do for us. He called back in 15-minutes and had already re-scheduled all of his other appointments for the day and had exited the freeway and was on his way in the other direction to our home. When he got to the property he isolated the problem within 20-minutes and had the spare part on his truck, which no other technician would have had. Got heaters up and running and pool heated prior to party. Service went so well we asked him to return on Monday and intsall two new heaters, which they did and they have worked flawlessly every since.

Brad did an excellent job, and was very knowledgable. We have owned pools for a long time, and these guys know what they are doing. Very professional and will do the job right.

My pool was leaking. I called Spectrum and they sent Tomo out to evaluate the pool and set up a time for a leak detection test which would have cost me $325. Tomo was able to find the leak WITHOUT the leak detection test. The return lines to the pool had corroded. He dug up my yard, put new pipes in and finished the job by himself in three days. I was very impressed with his professionalism and hard work.

They change the people who come out to clean the pool. The first group that was here initially did a good job, but since then it hasn?t been that great.
