Description of Work: TERRIBLE Service, pool tech on phone constantly and distracted. I reported this to the office, office stated no other complaints from other customers. We asked office to have tech STOP talking on phone when cleaning our pool, but it happened again. We then terminated this service..-First appt -- he did not clean filter correctly, sloppy job, per our new tech 2/7/16, AND left pool filter clogged with leaves creating noise. Blamed us -- said it was broken basket. Supervisor admitted it was tech's error.. |Happy with our new pool service.

Description of Work: I have had Spectrum repair my pool before. Chris is the most professional, knowledgable,and efficient person you could ever hope for. He knew immediately what the problem was. He explained the repairs needed and emailed me a fair estimate for the work and parts needed. My pool is not a new pool so and when it is not on it's game I call Spectrum Pools and have Chris come to fix it. The service is prompt.The work is completed in a timely manner...no fuss. Several years ago Chris was with another Spa company and at that time he was very professional and always made certain that my spa was fully operational, and that the equipment was always safe. However Chris left that company and I had to stop the monthly service. I tried to get Chris's number from the A...Spa Company, but they would not provide me with any information. I have been trying various private individuals and no one did the job, came on time and they were never reliable. So several weeks ago, I joined Angie's List mainly to try to find a spa company to repair my spa. I called Spectrum because of the reviews that I read on line. Within a day, I had a return call and this individual said hello this is Chris and I am calling from Spectrum Pool and Spa service. I almost jumped for joy. I said my name and address and explained what had happened over the past few years and this person said and your son lives across the street. I knew then that I had found Chris. He was at my house at the designated time for the initial call to determine what was wrong and then back today and of course on time. The repair was not as expensive as he thought, but I cannot tell him, but I would have paid any amount, to have the spa safe and in good working condition. If you need any pool or spa work, Chris is the professional that you need to hire. Thanks so much.

Description of Work: Chris, our technician, was very knowledgeable on all aspects of our unit and our system. Our unit was custom-built by a local outfit and is not a major brand and this did not phase Chris; we feel very fortunate to have found him. When concerns arose, both Chris and Spectrum were very helpfully responsive. Chris wound up replacing the GFI breaker that supplies 220 electricity to our system. It works beautifully!

Description of Work: Mark re-did my pool plumbing to allow my heater to heat my pool and/or spa. It was also to allow my water fall to be switched on by remote. I supplied the Jandy valves as they were part of the plumbing I was replacing. My system was fully functional before Mark replaced it. The reason it was replaced was because the previous plumbing included black 2" pipe that Spectrum said should never be used. It was complicated and needed to be simplified. So, they replaced it. I did not opt to have them do the electrical part of the job, but should have. My electrician dragged his feet so I didn't find out for nearly a year that the water fall valve was not hooked up correctly. I can not shut off my water fall if the pool is in spa mode. So, whenever I want to use the spa I have to go to the pool shed and turn the four valves Mark hooked up for the spa to work. Mark admitted two months ago that he hooked it up wrong and would fix it at no charge. "I would hope so". Well, in two months he was not able to figure out how to fix the problem. He will not fix it. Larry stands behind him and refers me to another company that may be able to fix it. My pool, spa and waterfall plumbing is not the first of it's kind. A true expert would have no problem setting it up correctly. I even offered to pay to have the water fall set up on a different pump all together. They just will not fix the problem they created and they will not refund any of what I paid them. I will submit further reports on the other jobs they did for me. As I read the reviews on Angie's list I realize that most are soon after service was done and usually for pool cleaning. Perhaps they are good at cleaning the pool, but they are not good at plumbing or doing the right thing when it goes wrong.

Description of Work: Received an estimate for replacement of a pool pump for an in-ground pool. The pump was 3/4 horsepower. Larry was fast to respond and research and came up with one of the best prices to replace the pump. However, I had committed to simply rehabing the motor with someone else so I did not use him.
