I met with Nathan in March 2012 to talk about remodeling my kitchen -- that was it! What started out as a smaller remodel morphed into Nathan, Mike and the Pristine crew completely remodeling my 2 bed/2 bath 1700 sf condo...that's how much I liked these guys. And boy, what an amazing job they did!! The evolution of the project started with Nathan coming over to see the kitchen and give me an estimate. After (literally) 6 years of talking about remodeling my kitchen, I finally was ready to do it. I started researching on Angie's List and Pristine was the only company that had rave reviews from everyone. They were really the only company I talked to. I felt comfortable with Nathan right off the bat, he was patient and walked me through several scenarios of what the kitchen would look like. I decided to hire him and two weeks later when he called to schedule our start date, I threw in that maybe, just maybe, I might like for him to come back and take a look at my master bathroom...and on it went! I just kept piling the work on and they did it...AND stuck to my original finish date even though the project had more than doubled in size! The outcome is simply spectacular! Look at the photos, you'll be as amazed as I am!! I can honestly say that I under paid for the value of the work that was done. Nathan and Mike (and Adi in the main office) will all tell you how picky I am. Actually, they would be much more diplomatic and say that I know what I like and I'm a perfectionist. But really, I am super, super exacting and want things done correctly - the first time. This is what they did in spades. In fact, I am so happy with the quality of their work and their attention to detail, I am now hiring them to completely re-do my 700 sf outdoor space. Frankly, the bottom line is that the company's name says it all - Pristine. That is what they are - and that will be the quality of the work that they do for you!!
Description of Work: Complete remodel of kitchen & master bathroom; installation of pocket doors; fireplace makeover; refinishing of hardwood floors; painting of entire interior; installation of tankless water heater and installation of new back door.
Easy to work with, they know the technical stuff, they have a good design eye, and they do what they promise. Can't ask for more. They were fantastic from start to finish. I never got the feeling I was anything but important to them and the communication with the front office to deal with all the little issues that come up was excellent.
Description of Work: This remodel was amazing, just look at the before and after ! They rewired, moved plumbing, knocked out two windows and installed one new, larger one. They moved a door frame over a few inches to accommodate a standard counter depth. They installed all the appliances, granite counter tops, semi custom cabinets, an extensive backsplash, new tile floor in the kitchen and laundry room. To save a little money (and because it's kind of fun) I did the demolition and painted. When I met with Nathan (who runs the company) we talked in general terms about what might options about what to do. He gave me a ballpark figure. After meeting a bunch of contractors I decided to put them first on my list. Combination of factors really. He was professional and friendly without me feeling like I was getting 'worked'. He listened to my ideas and where I wasn't sure what to do, he had good practical design ideas that were in keeping with my budget and fit what I told him I was trying to achieve. Communication was good from the start - he showed up on time and when he was a little late he or his office manager would get in touch. After signing with them things didn't change. They, like most contractors I assume, have places they recommend you use for cabinets, tile, granite, etc. In most cases the places they recommended were exactly what I wanted - quality places with the lowest prices. My budget was very tight so I did a lot of shopping to make sure I got something I loved, since I couldn't afford to make a mistake - I had to live with whatever I chose. In one area, floor and backsplash tiles, I found places which sold stuff I liked better - didn't matter to them - they weren't there to sell me on stuff I didn't want. Their objective was to do high quality work and make it just how I liked it. They pulled permits and worked with the city to get to approvals. They came back and did small touch up work as needed.
Nathan came over to give me a quote and had me walk him through all the changes I had in mind. He made suggestions along the way and helped me flush out exactly what I wanted. He then took all the measurements and created a 3d rendering of what the kitchen and bathroom would look like. The program allowed me to view how everything would be laid out from different perspectives so I had a good idea of what the final product would look like. After we had agreed, Nathan helped me shop for tile, granite, cabinets, and fixtures/appliances. Since the plans involved removing a load bearing wall, he also had an engineer come take a look and draw up plans to ensure my house remained sturdy. The day work was slated to start, Nathan and his workers arrived on time and started setting up. They created plastic walls to contain the construction dust and covered all my hardwood floors with tough paper. Demolition of my old kitchen and bathroom only took a day or two and all trash was hauled away promptly. Work proceeded quickly and Nathan kept in touch with me to give me continuous updates. I couldn't be there during the day to see what was being worked on, but I would view their progress each night. Whenever I had questions or concerns, Nathan was just a phone call away and would make sure my concerns were taken care of. Since my house is older, the workers came across anomalies. Nathan would inform me and give me options of how to either work around them or fix them. Overall the work was accomplished ahead of schedule and the results are amazing.
Description of Work: Gutted and rebuilt kitchen and master bath, removed load bearing wall, converted old hallway area to closet, and replaced/upgraded electrical panel.
Nathan, Mike and their employees met and exceeded our expectations from the start. We interviewed many different contractors for our bathroom remodel, and it was clear from the first meeting with Nathan that his confident, patient and professional manner would be a good match for us. Nathan met with us several times to thoroughly review and document all the details for the project, and to explain all the options and answer our multitude of questions. He committed the details to writing, and was happy to work with us to clarify all of the terms and conditions, accepting our changes to the description of certain elements of the work to be performed. We didn't want to have any major surprises, as can happen with a project of this nature, and we were particularly concerned that there was unseen damage to the subfloor which would need to be repaired. Nathan suggested that we agree in advance on a fixed price to repair the subfloor, if indeed repairs were needed. This went a long way toward alleviating one of our concerns, and as it turned out, the repairs were necessary. Nathan was very timely in responding to us in the weeks prior to executing the contract, and again in the weeks prior to the beginning of the work. He gave us choices as to when the work could start, and was able to work the project dates around our busy schedule. He estimated that the work would take up to four weeks, and the project was completed in just over three weeks. In preparation for the project, Nathan met with us at several local showrooms where we selected cabinets, countertop, tile and grout. He took the time that we needed to explain the advantages and disadvantages of the various options, and arranged favorable pricing for us with his contacts at each location. During the work, we saw Mike daily and Nathan frequently, and they communicated with us by phone and text as well as in person so that we would know what to expect each day. Their employees took a considerable amount of time on day one to put protective coverings on our wood floors and to place plastic sheeting around the work area to control the dust. This was indicative of their routine during the entire project, as all the employees who worked at our home were quiet, respectful, clean and timely. They started work at 8:00 a.m., and ended around 5:00 p.m. each day. The workers did take a break for lunch, usually sitting outside and eating. There was no down time, even when waiting for a city inspector, as they phased the work in such a way that there was always something productive to be done. Mike dealt effectively with all of the large and small issues which arose, including the repair of the subfloor, and made sure that everything was perfect from the drywall to the lighting and electrical, and from the tile and grout to the cabinets. For various reasons, we all agreed during the course of the project that the bathroom door would need to be replaced and reframed, and Mike handled this change with ease. When we had questions about details as we saw the progress each day, Mike took time to answer them or to show us how it would be addressed. Even for a small project, and even though we thought we had covered all possible items in advance, there were lots of little questions that we would never have anticipated. When a miscommunication did occur, and the prep work on the new shower stall was not exactly according to the agreed upon documentation, Mike took care of it as soon as we brought it to his attention, and made sure no time was lost on the project. Nathan has a great sense of design when it comes to color and materials, and listened to us as we expressed our likes and dislikes. We all agreed upon the tile, countertop, cabinets and shower glass, and Nathan's recommendations were on target for our needs. As we approached the completion of the work, he helped us pull all the elements together by recommending a paint color that we probably wouldn't have selected, and then showing us several alternatives. We went with Nathan's recommendation, and again, it was just right. The results of the remodeling project are excellent, and after about a month we are truly enjoying our new bathroom. We could not be happier with our selection of Nathan, Mike and Pristine Construction, and have already recommended them to friends.
Description of Work: Complete Bathroom Remodel, including shower, cabinets, sinks, lighting, floor and subfloor.
Could not have gone better! Nathan, Mike and the Pristine crew were fabulous. Always on time, always on schedule, always cleaned up when they left. There was not one thing that was not covered in the initial meeting and they were extremely accommodating when I wanted to make last minute changes. I would call them again in a minute, and have already scheduled my next job. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a remodel.
Description of Work: Pristine gutted and remodeled three bathrooms: master, kids and powder room. For the master and kids they installed new tub and shower, all new tile, built custom cabinets, new floor, baseboard moldings. all electrical, plumbing and paint. For the powder room they installed new cabinets, moldings and paint. They also put all new baseboard molding in the entire upstairs.
Pristine Construction is fabulous! I had spoken to several contractors before meeting with Pristine. I also just had extensive electrical work done by an electrician I have known for over 15 years. The minute Nathan Moses walked into my home, he said that the electrical work was not done to code. Not only that but it was a fire hazard! I called my electrician/friend who said ?technically, Nathan was correct?. None of the other contractors mentioned the incorrectly installed ceiling lights. That was the point I knew Pristine Construction was the company for me. They continued to impress me throughout the entire remodel. From the design to plan to demolition to installation, Pristine made my extensive kitchen and bathrooms remodel seem easy. Nathan?s team including partner Mike Malka are top professionals in their fields. Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters ? they handled each phase of my remodel flawlessly. Some problems arose which seemed insurmountable to me, but were dealt with effortlessly. They finished well before deadline and on budget. If you are considering a kitchen or bathroom remodel, I highly recommend you talk with Pristine Construction. Susan ChapmanMarina del Rey, CA
Description of Work: Extensive remodel including kitchen, master and guest bathrooms, bar and fireplace.
Two of our 25 year old bathrooms sorely needed remodeling. In our master bathroom we wanted to relocate the shower to where the bathtub was, resize a window, and remove a wall and soffits. In our guest bathroom we wanted to keep the configuration the same with the exception of removing the soffits. One problem, we were still traumatized by our 2006 kitchen remodel which was a comedy of errors. We were not satisfied with the first 9 bids we received. Then along came Nathan from Pristine Construction. We knew immediately that we could trust him to do a good job. We were not proven wrong. Nathan and his partner Mike along with their crew who included Cornelio, Savino, and Milton were outstanding. Everyone was courteous and professional. Before we signed with Pristine, Nathan came to our house several times. He made practical and solid recommendations on what floor plans and designs would be the most functional and look the best. While at our house Nathan drew a computerized 3-D rendering of what each bathroom would look like. An additional bonus is that Nathan is good at interior design which saved us the expense of hiring an interior designer. Nathan accompanied us to stone, tile, and bathroom fixture stores where he made color, material, and product recommendations and made sure we received his contractor discount pricing. This greatly simplified the daunting task of selecting the best products needed to achieve our desired look and budget. We are not the greatest at visualizing the end result so we took a leap of faith regarding Nathan?s design decisions. The end result is spot on with what we desired. My wife now wants to remodel the rest of the house, including the kitchen we did 6 years ago, because ?the bathrooms are the nicest rooms in the house.? Pristine started our job on the date promised and finished several weeks earlier than estimated. Every day the crew was at our house on time at 8:00 to 8:15 a.m. and would regularly work until 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. Both Nathan and Mike supervised the work on a daily basis and Nathan would call us almost every day with an update. When we called Nathan he would usually either pickup or returned our calls within minutes. By the end of the job we felt like Nathan was part of the family. Before demolition commenced, Pristine took great care to protect our hardwood floors, carpeting, and interior by laying down protective coverings. At the end of each day they would sweep and vacuum. This resulted in our being able to live in our house during construction without any significant issues. Both bathrooms were taken down the studs. New electrical, lighting, and copper pipes were installed. During the job, Pristine determined that the previous electrical service to the bathrooms was inadequate and installed, without additional charge, 3 new lines of service. When unanticipated situations came up, Nathan would say ?no problem? and took care of them. When enhancements came up during construction -- e.g., adding a towel bar to the shower door, resealing our kitchen sink, replacing a hallway chandelier, and adding pull outs in the vanities-- Nathan and Mike did them without additional charge, often on their own initiative. The quality of materials used by Pristine is excellent. For example, instead of using Hardie backerboard to mount the shower tiles on, Nathan opted for the more expensive and time consuming method of floating cement because he said it would create a better water barrier and because it would produce a better end result. At one point Nathan was not entirely satisfied with the color grout we had chosen for the master shower so he had it removed and replaced. Pristine installed a makeup table and cabinets in the area that our old shower occupied. Our new shower is what one would expect to see in a spa. The custom vanities look great, are extremely well made, and are very utilitarian due to variety of drawers he incorporated into them. The frames of mirrors over the sinks are made out of the same materials/finish used in the vanities. The frameless glass shower doors are beautiful. At Nathan?s suggestion, we opted for Caesarstone countertops in lieu of granite. Great choice. We anticipate, without construction fear, doing additional remodeling next year. This time we only need one estimate, Pristine?s. Thank you for 2 beautiful functional bathrooms that were realized within budget and with minimal inconvenience and stress on us. March 2012 Update: Since completion of our bathrooms, we have contacted Nathan and Mike a couple of times for several small glitches. They responded promptly each time and attended to our concerns. They truly aim to please.

It didn't. I never heard from them.
Description of Work: Sent a request asking if they would give a free estimate on removing wallpaper and painting our kitchen and have not heard anything in return. It's been a week.
During our kitchen and bar remodel, they were consistently warm, funny, knowledgeable, highly ethical and available. They always answered our phone calls and texts. They kept us informed at each step of the project and checked in person or by phone every day. They listened well and interpreted accurately. They helped us make design choices and select materials. They quoted a fair price for the job, with no hidden costs. We kept adding to our project and the quotes for the add-ons were reasonable. In addition, they met requests for change with good humor and unfailingly good ideas. Their responses were peppered with “that can be done” or “don’t worry about it”, and both were comforting. The attention to detail by all of the Pristine staff is remarkable. Not only Nathan and Mike, but all their employees take pride in their work and have a sense of ownership with the finished project. They were meticulous in their craftsmanship and at the end of the day took great pains to clean and clear up as much as they could so we could live in the remodel environment relatively comfortably. Nathan and Mike have a great eye for color and design and really helped us put it all together. They are perfectionists with high standards that rubbed off on us. Everyone was very patient with our questions and happy to make little tweaks here and there. Bottom line: You can feel secure that you’ve selected the best of the best with Pristine Construction. Your project will begin on time and finish on time (if not earlier than projected). You will be proud to show off the design, color and workmanship. We felt we made good friends and are looking forward to work they will be doing for us in our dining room. We are almost sorry the remodel is finished and that Nathan, Mike and their crew won’t be on our speed dials for a month.
Description of Work: This is the second time we have used Pristine Construction and would not have considered using any other company! In late 2011, they remodeled 2 ½ bathrooms for us and we were thrilled with the result! Now, Pristine Construction has just completed our second remodel project, a 1976-era kitchen and bar, including complete demolition, removal of an island, upgrade of the electrical panel, and replacement of cabinets, counters, backsplash, floors, recessed lights and pendants. Nathan accompanied us to select our appliances, the beautiful porcelain tile and the granite that graces our countertops. We are ecstatic about the results. You will be very happy you have selected Nathan and Mike, co-owners of Pristine Construction, to guide your project from beginning to end. They are consummate professionals.
It was an amazing and wonderful experience. From the start when we met with Nathan Moses,we were in good hands. We had help from Nathan in design of the bathroom, and selection of the materials. He even met with us at the suppliers to finalize our choices. The work was done in a professional manner. The employees were considerate and easy to have in the home. Mike and Nathan, the two owners, were both on site each day supervising and checking with us on small details. The quality of the work is exceptional. All of this and the project was even finished early! Truely when Nathan told me that all their customers are happy, he was telling the truth! I wouldn't hire anyone else!!
Description of Work: We had a complete remodel of our bathroom. Everything was changed. We have new flooring, new tiles, new tub, new cabinets, new lighting, new sink, and walls were smoothed out.
Nathan and Mike and all of their workers were exactly true to their word, and were amazing in how they took care of all the details. Nathan also gave me excellent design advice. I would definitely use them again.

Nathan showed a personal interest in our project from concept, design and choice of materials. Nathan meet with us several times before he had enough information to give us our quote. He was very competitive on price and he assured us that we would have no surprises with extra costs, unless we expanded the scope of work ourselves. Parts of the project turned out to be more work than he or us ever thought and they did not charge us anything above our quote. Outstanding workers, all of whom work directly for the company, and they were on time every day and very conscientious and friendly. The work was completed ahead of schedule and on budget without a single issue or complaint! Mike, the project manager and Nathan's partner, is extremely detailed oriented and had very high standards. If the work is not up to the highest possible standards, he will have the workers redo it until it meets his expectations. It was like Mike and Nathan had become part of our family! Nathan and Mike helped us pick out tile, paint and helped with our design choices. This is so helpful since they can visualize the final project better than we could. I have never worked with a trades person who I would more highly recommend than Pristine. Once they were hired by us, we never once had any doubts and we knew we picked the best contractor out there. That's the reason they were chosen #1 by Angies List subscribers.

On a scale of 1-10, Nathan and his team at Pristine get a 10 rating for delivery on the promise of quality work in a timely fashion.
Description of Work: Pristine did a complete remodel of our kitchen and second bathroom. We found Pristine on Angies's list after interviewing a number of other contractors without the success we had hoped. We met with Nathan and reviewed the scope of the project. He then provided a 3D plan of our new kitchen design and bath design. Nathan then provided a detailed bid and timeline for the project. He uses his own team of workers and only used a sub-contractor for the wood flooring. His team was respectful of our home and worked to make sure that we were not terribly inconvenienced. At the end of the day, the work was exactly as promised and he delivered the project in 7 weeks when the original timeline projection was 8-10 weeks. Pristine was superb. They completed their punch list immediately after our final walkthrough. We were so comfortable with our relationship and the quality of the work that we had him complete two other projects during the remodel: replacement of our old hot water heater with a new tankless model and the remodel of our wet bar to match the work in the kitchen.

Pristine Construction, Inc., was one of several estimates we received in contemplation of remodeling our 70's era kitchen, most of the other estimates coming from Angie's List providers as well. While we were generally impressed with a few of the providers we consulted, we were most impressed with Nathan. Although he didn't provide the cheapest quote, he spent considerable time answering our questions and providing excellent advice on the type of design we were seeking. He made a few return visits, never making us feel like we were wasting his time, and provided a 3D virtual design on his computer which helped us to see rather than simply imagine how things would look. Once the contract was signed, the work began on the exact day and time Nathan said it would and finished ahead of the scheduled completion date (which would have been even sooner if we were able to make quicker decisions on the granite, tile and paint of choice). Along the way, the workers appeared on time everyday, worked and conducted themselves professionally and cleaned up at the end of each day. We were particularly impressed with Cornelio and the hard work, professionalism and care he displayed. Nathan's partner, Mike, was equally impressive with his knowledge and dedication to quality. Both he and Nathan were immediately responsive to our every inquiry. When the grout for our backsplash was being done, Mike noticed that it was going on darker than he thought we would like and immediately stopped and called me. He obtained two additional samples and applied both for me so I could see how each looked before deciding. After hearing all of the nightmare stories from friends who had remodeled, I was pleased with Pristine's overall job performance. There were no hidden fees, and they even did some extras without additional cost. Responsiveness may seem like a small part of a construction job, but it goes a long way. I spoke with Nathan almost everyday for several weeks. i must have called him a few dozen times. 95% of the time I called, he answered the phone. The other 5%, he called me back within 10 minutes. i always felt like the job was important to them and they would do all they could to make sure I was pleased with the final product. Both my wife and I are very happy with our new kitchen.
Description of Work: Complete demolition of old kitchen and construction of new one, including removal of a load-bearing wall, framing, upgrading electrical panel, relocating central air/heat ducts, drywall, plaster, new custom cabinets, new sink and fixture installation, granite countertops, glass mosaic tile backsplash, porcelain flooring, pendant and recessed lighting, and installation of new appliances.

Nathan called in responded to my email on the same day, which was very prompt. However, when he spoke to my husband about the details of the job on the telephone he become a really pushy salesman. My husband said he was off next week and could meet the contractor any time at the house, but Nathan was insistent that he would not evaluate the property for a quote unless both of us were present. When my husband explained I would be working during the day, Nathan declared his company would not be available to work on another remodel job until May so "get back to us when your wife can be there." My husband was insulted. It does not take two of us to be at home for the contractor to do a walk through on the property. Clearly, Nathan just wanted to try and push us into signing a contract on the spot. We think that is really unprofessional and does a disservice to the clients.

We absolutely love Nathan and Pristine Construction. After meeting with multiple contractors to remodel our kitchen, Nathan was a breath of fresh air. He wasn’t pushy like most other contractors. Instead, he was polite, knowledgeable, trustworthy and professional. This project was our first re-model and we didn’t know anything about the process. Nathan guided us through everything from start to finish. He listened carefully to what we wanted, gave us suggestions, and showed us lots of examples on his computer of other kitchens he had remodeled. He went with us to stores to help us pick out everything in our kitchen--appliances, tile, counters, and cabinets. He was patient and supportive, always offering his perspective and advice and helping us make color and style decisions. He, Ellie (our project manager), and the rest of their team were all a pleasure to work with. They were hardworking, polite, knowledgeable, paid attention to every detail, and showed true pride in their work. Ellie or Nathan checked in with us every day, either by phone call or in person. The crew cleaned up at the end of each day. The team was so efficient that, despite us adding a few additional projects along the way, they finished the project ahead of schedule. And, we are extremely happy with our new kitchen. It is more beautiful than we could have imagined and we are so thankful to Nathan and Pristine Construction. We have already recommended Nathan to family and friends and are looking forward to having him redo our master bathroom in the near future.
Description of Work: Nathan and his team completely renovated our small 1980’s kitchen and a ½ bath. Construction included removing a wall, raising the ceiling, installing new lighting, cabinets, counters, moving appliances, electrical, plumbing, and adding a kitchen island.
Don?t hire anyone else! Nathan, the owner of Pristine, is completely professional, accommodating and responsive. He helped us pick fixtures, tile, and an awesome carved door for the bathroom, that will complement the antique furniture in the bedroom area.. His design sense is excellent. His project manager, Mike, was very thorough and especially responsive to our many requests for changes. (In fact, we have the honor of being named by Mike and Nathan as the pickiest client of the month.) But they responded to our requests with good humor, patience and tolerance, even though it sometimes resulted in extra work, or extra trips to the supplier. Either Nathan or Mike was in contact with us every day, personally or by phone. They were very reachable if we had any questions. And they completed the work ahead of schedule! Their construction crew is superb. We can?t thank Savino, Genaro, Cornelio, Faustino and Milton enough. They are very talented and meticulous; their work reflects this -- the tiling is perfect; the painting is gorgeous; the whole project is fantastic. They came on time; worked hard all day; explained what was going on; and cleaned up before they left. They painted the very narrow stairwell that had been scuffed by materials being taken up and down. Nathan, Mike and the crew were amazing in their ability to be proactive -- to do things that needed to be done that we had not even thought about. We are so pleased with our beautiful bathroom that we have asked Pristine Construction to remodel our kitchen and a downstairs bathroom in 2012.
Description of Work: Pristine Construction built a bathroom and a closet in a large upstairs room, measuring 20 by 24 feet. The project involved removing two eight-foot windows; repairing and matching the stucco to fill the space the windows left; constructing interior walls; framing a huge shower; installing new copper plumbing and drains; lowering the ceiling to accommodate light fixtures; tiling the shower and the bathroom floor; installing electrical wiring for the new light fixtures; installing the bathroom fixtures; and painting the new walls. The bathroom is for a very tall, disabled man who cannot bend without pain, so they elevated the sink/vanity by building and tiling a platform that is exactly the right height for him. They also installed a seat and a grab bar in the shower for safety.
I have heard such horror stories about remodeling but they obviously didn't hire Pristine Construction. Nathan & his crew are amazing. I think what I dreaded most was having to pick out so many things; granite, tile, wall color etc. etc. Nathan, owner of Pristine Construction, made it so easy. He is a perfectionist. He takes such pride in being the best. My kitchen became his kitchen & he wanted it perfect. I remember in the tile store, he was trying to explain how the diamond shape tile on the backspash would work. I just wasn't seeing it. I knew he had another appt & didn't want to keep him. But he wasn't in a hurry, he took a bunch of tiles on the floor & put them in a diamond shape until I could visualize it. What was important to us was important to him. He wanted everything to be as stress free as possible. My husband picked out the wrong hood, we were at the end of the remodeling. He wasn't sure what to pick. He was at the appliance store so frustrated. He calls me & says, guess who's here to save the day. Nathan dropped whatever he was doing ( I assume one of his crew called him about the hood), drove all the way to Agoura to the appliance store to help George. When they decided on the hood, he had a place to get it $100 cheaper & had it picked up, at his expense, the next day. His cabinet maker, Mike, is awesome. The cabinets are so rich looking & beautiful. Attention to detail seems to be their motto. I wish I could name each member of his crew, they were all so great. Mike, his foreman, was terrific. I never had to worry about anything. They were always on time. Taking away week-ends & Thanksgiving, they finished in 17 business days. With such a great experience, we are hoping to do our bathroom sometime next year & no one else will touch this house except for Nathan. You will never be sorry if you pick Nathan & Pristine Construction. They are the best!!

This was an excellent experience from beginning to end. I trust Nathan to do the right thing and not cut corners.
Description of Work: Nathan and his team came and renovated our 1929 Spanish bathroom from top to bottom. They redid plumbing, subflooring, electrical, marble tiling, shower, painting etc. From the first consultation to the last day, Nathan was the most detail oriented and professional contractor I have dealt with in our extensive home renovations. His team was considerate and clean and meticulous about details that even I did not notice.
From the beginning Nathan, owner of Pristine Construction, helped to make a very intimidating process easy and enjoyable. He listened closely to what we wanted and did everything he could to bring our ideas to life, while keeping in mind the limitations of our budget. Nathan completely designed our new kitchen based only upon our basic ideas and some photos that we liked. He worked with us to determine the most user friendly and visually appealing kitchen design while maximizing the space available. He assisted in the selection of our materials, fixtures and appliances helping to ensure that everything would coordinate. Often meeting the vendors with us to make sure we were taken care of. His knowledge and experience in kitchen design was invaluable. Nathan and his team gutted the entire kitchen down to the studs and floorboards, removing two windows and tearing down two partial walls. They closed up the windows from the outside, perfectly matching the stucco on one outer wall and wood siding on the other outer wall. They added a bay window to a completely different wall and constructed clean framing and a support frame for the outside of the bay window. After the tear down they re-routed all electrical, gas and plumbing to accommodate the relocation of the lighting fixtures, sink and all appliances. During that process they also installed the upgraded electrical panel which our new kitchen required. They added insulation and closed up the walls. From there they began building our dream kitchen. They installed tile flooring throughout the kitchen and connecting dining room. The precise tile work around the steps from the dining room into the living room showed their expertise and attention to detail in this area. They constructed our new island and installed the beautiful cabinets which contained custom upgrades including a wine rack, plate rack and wine glass rack. They installed our plumbing fixtures and the granite counter tops. Next they installed the tile backsplash, again with perfect precision (I am very picky about tile work). The walls were painted and the lighting fixtures and appliances were installed. The final product was beyond what we ever could have imagined. At every step we were impressed by the precision and quality of work from Nathan, Mike and the rest of the Pristine Construction team. They were always punctual and easily reachable. They kept strictly to the original time estimate and made significant progress on a daily basis. What impressed us most was the pride that they took in their work. Nathan made several suggestions throughout the project that helped to improve upon our original design. He did not mind that these suggestions often made his job more lengthy or difficult. His priority was to create an amazing final product, which they did. We could not be happier with the work done by Pristine Construction.

Pristine was a very positive experience for us. Nathan Moses, the business owner, is very personable and really knows his stuff. Though we knew we wanted a new bathroom from top to bottom, we didn't really have a clear vision of what we wanted. Nathan was able to give us the practical pointers we needed to maximize the space in the bathroom and maintain the practicalities of it (no-slip floor, senior-friendly shower, etc.) He was able to give us a good time frame in which to start the job and complete it. The paperwork was easy and straightforward. Nathan works on a pay-as-go basis, with an initial outlay and then installments as various phases of the work is completed or started. One of the main things I liked about conducting business with Pristine is that we were given a fixed fee (not the highest, not the lowest) so we knew what to expect. We did not have to worry about the contractor running into "problems" and then upping their fee on us. Matter of fact, Pristine did encounter a tricky electrical situation that necessitated almost an entire day of work by two of the guys. Any other contractor probably would've charged more money for this delay. It was gratifying to know that they were able to not only tackle the job but do it well -- and not charge extra. The workers were very polite and showed up each morning on time. At the end of each work day, they would tidy up before they left. It was a fairly painless process. A project manager was assigned to the job and he communicated all of our concerns and needs to Nathan on an as-needed basis. Most impressive was probably the tile work we had done. I can't say enough good things about Pristine's tile guys. They are true artisans. I have heard many horror stories about tile jobs gone bad. That was not the case here. These guys are truly talented. We are so pleased with the new look of our downstairs master bedroom and bath. Pristine has a professional crew who knows their stuff. We will definitely use their services again. Would love to have them do our kitchen some day!!
Description of Work: Pristine stripped our bathroom down to the bare concrete floor and wall studs where needed. We wanted a complete redo on our bathroom. They replaced the shower completely (tile, recessed shampoo holder, frameless shower enclosure), redid the floor with tile, painted the walls and ceiling, and installed a new vanity. They also moved the plumbing for the sink over a few inches to accommodate the new location of the vanity. They installed lighting/heating/fan in the ceiling, and lighting over the vanity. The only original piece we kept was the high-flow toilet.
This is the second time i have used "PRISTINE", we have used them last year to remodel our master bathroom, and we were delighted with the outcome. I can go on and on about how we are so happy with this company, so i will make it short. They have executed our bathroom remodel with the same attitude, integrity and professionalism when performing our first remodel. Nathan is the consummate professional, that every home owner would like to have in charge, on his project. Mike's keen eye for detail and workmanship, is what every home owner want to over look his job. Between these two guys and the amazing, hard working pristine crew you can't go wrong, i am telling you that after my second experience, the work does not have a single flaw. No wonder they were chosen to be L.A best construction company for 2011. We thank them for an excellent second round, and will refer them to anyone with no hesitation, they really deserve it.
Description of Work: They remodeled our kids bathroom, work was done in almost all possible trades such as: demolition and haul away, framing, electrical, plumbing, new window, stucco repair, new drywall, painting, custom cabinets and stone work, porcelain tile installation, fixtures installed and new glass enclosure.
The process was great. Everything went smoothly. The first day before demo they came and laid out protective covering over my floors and blocked off doorways with plastic and tape so the dust wouldn't everywhere. The workers showed up every day on time and Nathan was always easy to get a hold of. I was always kept in the loop on any problems that arose and offered workarounds for the situation. We had a hiccup and had to delay the start a few days because of a late tile delivery, but we still finished early.
Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodel. Demolished existing bathroom and installed new vanity, toilet, bathtub, recessed lighting, tile, and shower enclosure.
