+ -1 moreThe toilet in the master bedroom leaked. The plumber said we need to rebuild the toilet and change the angle stops and risers. Since the house is ten years old, we decided to fix all 3 toilets and paid $825. A day later, the toilet in the master bedroom leaked again. We called the plumber back and he said our pressure regulator is too high and is broken. He quoted $474.32 to replace the pressure regulator. We ask for a second bid from another company and they replaced the pressure regulator for only $319.73. Now, two weeks later our master bedroom toilet is still leaking. The original leaking problem is not solved.

Although he broke our shower door when beginning the project, his company there after did not charge us for fixing the shower leaks and the toilet angle stops. A supervisor came to our house at one point to check on the progress. Overall, excellent service and work performed with a good attitude and about half the price of an earlier quote from another company.
Description of Work: Came in to replace rusted bathtub. Also changed angle stops of toilets and stopped shower leaks.

+ -1 moreTLC quoted $3200 as the cost for repair, which struck me as high. I got another estimate (from Just Plumbing, see their Angie's List entry) that was only $900. Just Plumbing got the work, did a fine job of it, and TLC will *never* get any business of mine. A 250% markup? Over three grand for a $900 job? I know there's a lot of variance in plumbers' charges, but....ridiculous. No way.
Description of Work: I called TLC to diagnose and possibly repair what seemed to be a hot water line leak under the house's slab. They diagnosed it by hiring a subcontractor to actually do it (CPL Detection, with whom I was completely pleased).

Description of Work: An ice maker was installed with an inadequate hose by a previous plumber. TLC had to dig into a tiny space and thread through a new waste line. They even had to remove an installed dishwasher to reach the space.

Description of Work: My tenant called me to report a broken disposal. I called TLC Plumbing because it was so highly recommended on Angie's List. I had not tried this company before this. Larry, the plumber, arrived at the rental house soon after I called. Larry discovered there was glass in the unit and was able to make repairs without replacing the disposal, which, incidentally, I had approved in advance in case it was necessary. He completed the work quickly.

+ -1 moreThe representative from TLC arrived less than 45 minutes after I placed the initial call. He was polite and efficient. Decided to snake the drain to clear the clog, only to find that the clog was actually immediately under the sink. I was charged exactly what was estimated, even though it seemed to me that he had to do more work than he originally thought. I was impressed with the company overall and will use them again. I am marking the price as "fair", because I did think it was too expensive, but I have no real frame of reference for what plumbing repairs cost in general.
Description of Work: Cleared out the kitchen sink drain, which was completely clogged.

+ 0 moreLarry and Donald were very professional. Larry was the experienced plumber and Donald was learning the trade under Larry's guidance. I was very impressed with how well they worked together. They were positive, upbeat, and determined to do the best possible job. I think Larry's experience in working on older houses was very helpful to me because he pretty much knew what needed to be done right from the beginning. He reassured me that I would not have to jackhammer a path across the slab of my entire house to replace the old drain pipe, nor would I need to tear up the entire bathroom to fix the drain problems.
Description of Work: I have a 46-year-old house. Over the course of one year, I had constant problems with the drain in a shower draining poorly, and three times it backed up (along with the toilet) and had to be snaked. In addition, I discovered the shower was leaking inside the bathroom and also outside on the ground. Larry and Donald used a camera and found a clean out buried below ground level just outside the bathroom. They also discovered a broken drain pipe at the front of the house. They fixed the broken drain pipe and extended the clean out up to the surface of the ground. They used a tool to grind approximately 60 feet of the cast iron drain pipe. They used high pressure water jetting to make sure the drain was clear and checked it with the camera. Then they removed part of the bottom of the tile shower and some of the tile on the sides of the shower. They replaced the drain and P-trap (the old drain pipe was rusted/broken in at least two places).

They gave me a time window for the appointment, and then called me at work when the plumber was on his way so I didn't have to sit at home. The price seems a little on the high side, but I know plumbers are expensive. They were the first that actually showed up and performed the work.
Description of Work: I hired TLC plumbing to upgrade the water valves in my kitchen and install a new toilet. When they were installing the toilet they discovered that the valve had to be moved to accomodate the style of toilet I had bought, so they took care of that and finished the installation.

They found that it needed to be replaced and went straight back to the shop, got the water heater and came right back and installed it! Their my plumbers now!
