Description of Work: We were in a situation...Our garage doors wouldn't open, not even manually. Both cars inside and needing to leave the house. I suggested to my husband that he call Angie's List. He actually contacted 2 garage people, the first one said he could come soon. Meanwhile he called Golden State Garage Door. The response was almost immediate. It really suprised me. The service person was pleasant,helpful, knowledgeable and did a wonderful job. We would not hesitate to use them in the future

Description of Work: My sister and I contracted with Golden State Garage Door to install a garage door opener at our beach condo. We were VERY unhappy with their service! I prefer not to share all the details, but one of the problems was that they didn't show up when they were scheduled and didn't return our phone calls to explain what was happening. This was a great inconvenience because we were moving out to the condo for the summer and had no access to the garage. Five days later, after our move, they showed up unannounced (when we weren't home) and completed the work but left no indication that they had been there. They were very unprofessional and never even provided us with a written invoice for the work they had done. We have reported our dissatisfaction to the Better Business Bureau and they have received 11 complaints about this company in the past 36 months--four in the last year. The BBB has since withdrawn their endorsement of Golden State Garage Door.

+ -1 moreASK FOR CURTIS. THEY BEAT EVERYONE'S PRICE (I SHOPPED AROUND) AND HE GAVE ME AN ADDITIONAL 50$ DISCOUNT IF I'D SIGN WITH HIM THE DAY OF THE ESTIMATE. THERE WERE NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR ANYTHING (EXTRA WOOD PIECES, HAUL AWAY, ETC). I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.
