They were terrific...did it in 2 days . On time and great work

Jimmy and his crew came for a bid on Tuesday. He asked if he could start now! That was a pleasant shock. We said yes and they started at 8:00 a.m. in the morning and worked all day, came back the next day to finish up. If I could give a higher grade than an "A", I would. They protected our wood floors in the house with cloth, were exceedingly clean, and competent. I will be using them again in the future. Sheer perfection!!!

They did great. They did a great job. They did everything they said they were going to do and more. The pricing was very reasonable. They came on time. They did everything they were supposed to do. I was very happy with them.

Outstanding work. Jimmy Cruz showed up within a short time frame to inspect the work and provide a quote on the spot. Work began a few days later and took less than 1/2 a day. They assembled a small tent inside our house around the fireplace work area to contain all dust and debris. No mess at all. Prior to Jimmy's work we had a different subcontractor fix tile work in the house and outside only to leave behind a mess for us to clean up. Very professional.

Jose and Pancho Cruz did an absolutely outstanding job on our stone counter tops, far superior to the two other companies we had used in previous years. Thanks Angie's List and all the people who recommended this company. This is a small family business and they hold to the highest qualities of service and performance. Jose was exactly on-time for the estimate and again on the day of the actual work. By exactly, I mean exactly as they were parked on my street until the precise time they had committed to arrive. No excuses for traffic, road closures, etc. that we so frequently hear from contractors. They took great care in protecting the cabinets and floor in the kitchen as the performed their magic on the indoor counters. The finished product looked better than new, making me somewhat suspicious of installers who say the stone is properly sealed. We give J.J. Marble Restoration our highest recommendation for anyone in need of stone refinishing. You will not regret your choice.

Jose responded to my email via phone and scheduled to come out the next day for an estimate. He wore booties to protect my floors and was on time. We exchanged a few emails after he sent the estimate since I had questions about a few different things and he always responded in a timely manner. They estimated on a Thursday and came out and did the work on a Monday. They were on time, fast, and quiet. Did everything we asked for and were very professional. We had three different companies provide estimates and JJ Marble Restoration was in the middle. But we picked them because of the high number of positive reviews from Angie's List Members. I offered to pay him more since they had to travel to Long Beach from Santa Monica but he declined. All in all a good experience. We'll have them back next year for the annual cleaning. *Update. We requested sanded grout to fill the holes in our travertine based on two other professionals who recommended it during the estimating process. Jose originally said he'd do epoxy but agreed to do sanded grout for us instead. It never set properly though so walking through our house felt like you were at the beach, tracking sand everywhere. If he didn't feel comfortable using it we wish he would've told us he didn't recommend it. After a week we called him and he agreed to come out and replace it with epoxy. We assumed it would have been the same white linen color as the grout and old epoxy. They worked for 2 hours and when we came back to see it, saw that they went with a tan color which is darker then the stone and draws your eyes to the blemishes. Not a horrible color but we wish he would've shown us a sample before using it everywhere. He wasn't expecting payment but we didn't feel right about not compensating them for the drive out and 2 hours spent. So we paid them $200. Overall we wish Jose would've communicated more with us throughout the process. Showing us samples and explaining what he was going to do before it was too late to fix. They are hard workers and are reasonably priced but lack in communication. So I've updated my rating to reflect that. Update #2 It's been only a month and the grout around the sink is peeling off. So disappointed! A lot of the epoxy that they used to fill the holes is already chipping off as well. Only use these guys for cleaning, not repair.

He came on time, brought the necessary equipment, all in one trip. Protected my indoor floors with a canvas or plastic. Did the work very thoroughly and well. Completed the work in about 4 hours. Left with everything like it was except the balcony was clean and repaired and protected!

They are very professional ? and also very nice -- guys. They were as unobtrusive as possible, worked diligently and thoroughly, and it was a good experience in every way.

It was as good as it gets. Painless from start to finish. Great work. Polite, prompt and very pleasant.

We had water damage to some limestone flooring. Jimmy was able to deal with the efflorescence caused by the moisture and restore the floor to its original appearance without replacing the tiles. He was prompt, efficient and competitive on price. We are very happy with the results.

We received an estimate from J.J. Marble to clean the ceramic tile in our stall shower and to seal and caulk the granite countertops in our kitchen. We set a date for the work to be done, and Jose and his worker showed up promptly and completed the work entirely to our satisfaction.

Jimmy came out and gave us an estimate to fix what Liberty construction did not finish. Jimmy was prompt new what he was doing gave a good estimate. The next day Jose came to do the work. We were impressed at the care he gave our home by wiping his feet and even going so far as to wear booties on his shoes. He did a great job on repairing the grout on the new travertine tile. We also asked about cleaning, re-grouting and sealing the granite in our kitchen. Jose gave a more than fair price and the work was done the next day. I will use this company again.

They were excellent! They are the best marble restoration people I have ever used!

It was difficult to not select JJ Marble for my small project, but, in these difficult financial times, they were beat on price. There higher price did not seem based upon greed, but, I should have expected it since they are in Santa Monica and I am in Orange County, and their travel costs needed to be included for them to pay for gas and employees. I did not negotiate with any of the bidders, because I'm such a softee for the small business owner. I would use JJ Marble in the future -- if I move to the Santa Monica area.

Overall experience was great.

Bad experience. Said he would come at 9:00 am Thursday. No call or arrival by 9:30. I called and left message asking for confirmation. Waited until 10 and called again. Left message to call me back said I would be around if they were running late. Never got a call back. I called on Friday to see if there was a mix up or emergency and asked them to call me back. No response at all from them. Very dissapointing and unprofessional. Others seem to have had better experiences maybe my job was too small I don't know but now I am not sure how much to trust all these positive reviews .

I can' t say enough about this company. They were fantastic. Came and gave quite an accurate estimate. Returned when they said and on time. At first had indicated the job would take 2 days, they completed it in 1 day. Couldn't believe how beautiful they repaired the marble. You can't even tell where it was broken. noticeable chips in the shower are hardly noticeable, they also redid the grout. Our main bathroom had carpet over old tile. We purchased the tile and they removed all the carpet and old tile down to the slab. Started with an moisture barrier and laid tile beautifully. The rounded pieces by the bathtub look perfect. They really took care. My husband had noticed the bathroom spigot was loose and was looking at it wen they put the sink outside. One of the workers asked what was wrong and he said not to worry he would fix it. They were very careful to keep everything clean, laying down clothes and taping plastic over the bathroom door so the dust would stay contained. Dealing with this company is a dream and we would hire them again in a minute

Jimmy and his assistant arrived promptly at the scheduled time and worked continuously but for a short lunch break. They finished the job as promised in one day and left our home clean. The also wore booties over their shoes to keep the carpeting clean. All phone calls and other inquiries were quickly answered by Jimmy. Excellent responsiveness and courtesy!

The job was done to my expectations and within the agreed budget.

I had used JJ Marble over a year and a half ($1,500 for 101 things to do) and called him again for this small / big dirty job. He showed up promptly, polite and ready to work. He kept a tight ship.. He cleaned as he went. Laid out his protection sheets and went to work. He made the black grim grout turn back to the light gray it was! He did wonders! You got dirty grout call him, his prices are reasonable too and I will keep using him for sure! No need to call anyone else. Using JJ Marble again on 5/16/2013, approx $500.00 to repair and clean grout in kitchen, bath and laundry.

Service was great Jimmy was prompt and completed ahead of promised time.

I would use this firm again in a heatbeat!

They were great; I was very happy with them. This company was excellent and they were reasonable, knowledgeable and not pushy. I will use them again in the future.

The agreed upon work took longer than anticipated so I offered to pay extra and did pay extra. After the crew left I noticed that one tile in front of the shower has apparently been chipped by JJ's equipment. I contacted the owner who promised to return and replace the chipped tile with one of my extra tiles. When he returned some months later I pointed out the broken tile and he began arguing that it was not his fault. I also pointed out that the seal his crew had applied had failed and that mold was growing under and around the sealant and caulking- The mold was much worse than before JJ Marble applied the new sealant. JJ owner promised to call me to schedule the necessary work to replace the chipped tile and clean and reseal as necessary. I never heard from him again! The mold is worse than ever and I am concerned about possible leaks.

Jose was very professional, as was his crew! It was two brothers and a helper. They showed up on time, completed the job, and cleaned everything up! They are the best.
