Bill Walter - Locksmith

Description of Work: Bill repaired a complicated lock problem, stayed for an hour and only want to charge me $75. I insisted he take $100. He followed up with an email to inquire if things were working well.

Description of Work: I have a very expensive Baldwin lock assembly for my front door . Other locksmith's have insisted that I replace the entire unit. Bill explained that these units rarely need replacing and was able to dismantle the mortise mechanism and fix the lock . I didn't need to replace anything. He was punctual and explained what needed to be done. I would use his services again and have already recommended him to others.

Description of Work: The latch on our sliding glass backdoor finally broke today and given that we both work, we absolutely needed it repaired today. Bill came over right away and assessed the situation. A screw had snapped off and he could not remove the broken piece. So he came up with the idea of drilling a hole and using a screw from a door handle replacement I had just purchased that did not fit. His creative solution worked, and he even had a clever key hider that we needed for an outdoor key. He was warm, friendly and reassuring. He told us that if the other original screw (the one that didn't break) breaks, he'll come out and fix that one for free! Now that is service above and beyond the call of duty. We've put him in the contacts file as our go-to locksmith.

Description of Work: Superb! A difficult problem; a locked door with an unusual European lock. Bill fixed it and adjusted the hinges so that the problem would not happen again. And all that for a VERY LOW price. He loves his job and it shows!
