Description of Work: We inquired them to install two skylights in our home. We ended up not using them both for price and they stated that 85-95% of their clients don't pull permits. And if they did it would cost a lot. What they told us was about $600-$1000 to do the permit and create the drawings to present to the city inspector. To us it was important to pull a permit just because we wanted the rafters to be cut and thus change the structure of the home. We decided they weren't the best fit company for us.

We didn't do any work for this woman! Why is she giving out a report on me at all? Permitting a job is expensive, especially when drawings have to be generated and submitted to plan check, and a business license taken out in the city where the work is being done. I recently paid the City of Los Angeles $1450.00 in permit and inspection fees for a job that was only $12,000.00. That's 12% of the value of the job! That is why people avoid the permit process, not because the contractor won't do it I will never be the low bidder on a job. I have been in business for 33 years, and I pay my men top dollar. I treat them like family, and they are loyal, they stay with me and get better and better at what we do. She found some guy who was desperate for work and worked cheap. Lots of those in this economy. Funny how all the people I work for give me an A, and she feels the need to grade me poorly when she didn't even hire me. Takes all kinds, I guess...Jack Randall, Owner, Lighten Up Skylight

OVERALL SERVICE IS EXCELLENT. THEY ARE LARGEST CONTRACTOR USED BY HOMEOWNERS IN TOWNHOUSE COMPLEX. ELEVATED CEILING INSTALLATION, ROUGH SAW CUTS, INTERIOR TRIM, REFLECTIVE GLASS ALL COMPLETED ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS. NEAT AND CLEAN. THEY GUARANTEE WORK FOR LIFE OF THE ROOF. WEATHERTIGHT GUARANTEE AS WELL.
