LIGHTEN UP

I spent a great deal of money to get top of the line skylights. First rain and the leaks have ruined my room. Worse than before they installed new skylights. They are very adversarial and will say anything to get out of their warranty. The owner and company are too old and no supervision of workers. Don't use them! I now need to have new skylights and flashing.

Could not have asked for a more professional business. Detailed bid with pictures. All work done on schedule as promised and the skylight is beautiful. Would definitely do business with them again!

Owner was informed of home security wiring that needed to be left in place for future connection to said security system. Worker was not informed of wiring condition nor supervised and wiring was removed. Every conversation I had with the owner I mentioned the wiring and how imperative it was that it be left in place. Upon completion of skylight installation it was discovered that wire was indeed buried. Company admitted mistake but took no action to rectify situation. Told me my security company could easily dig wiring out. Took absolutely no responsibility and was rigid and uncompromising and then proceeded to accuse me of trying to extort money from them to fix admitted mistake. Jack Randall told me that if I was that unhappy that I could "sue him".

George and his brother, Nacho, arrived one hour before the schedule time and covered all the furniture below the skylights before going up on the roof. George showed up by himself the second day and finished the install. On both days, they cleaned up before leaving. George explained how to use the remote for the skylight and answered all my questions before leaving. The project took a day and a half and I am very happy with the work they preformed. I would like to add that Chip and Jack, who I communicated with by phone and e-mail, also answered all my questions and concerns in a very responsive way.

The team that did the installation showed up on time and the quality of work seems excellent. A bit pricey, but because of their reputation I went with tem.

The skylights turned out beautifully. It was easy working with Lighten Up, starting with the quote which included photos and illustrations, references and all the information needed to get tax rebates. They were professional, friendly, punctual and created a partition out of plastic in order to keep the rest of the house clean. They were not the least expensive quote we relieved, but I felt most confident in choosing them to do the work. Glad we went with them. Happy with the result! Would hire again:)

This was an excellent experience. I emailed Chip a photo (exposed ceiling) of the bathroom and marked precisely where I wanted the skylight. He emailed me a quote within 24 hours. His price for the material and installation was reasonable (not the cheapest, not the most expensive.) The two installers were very professional and finished the work in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Lighten Up Skylight. The skylight looks amazing

First, build the scaffolding. Second, measure the windows. Third, order the windows. Fourth, wait on the windows. Fifth, install the windows.

Jack Randall was the most knowledgable, honest and helpful of all of the companies we contacted and we did a lot of research. He gave us several options, using different materials with different levels of sun protection, durability, etc. so that we could choose a price point we were comfortable with. Jack did not "sell" us or try to make us spend more, he simply gave us all the information we needed to make an intelligent decision. The work was excellent, the guys were professional and clean upon installation, and we are thrilled with the result. This is not a slick company that will try to oversell. They do excellent work and will do what you need and/or want but not push you to do more than you intended, and the results are extremely high quality. We will definitely use them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Excellent company.

The work that they did was excellent, but something cosmetic I was not happy with. Something cosmetic needed to be fixed, and they fixed it.

This is a firm that is highly professional, honest and with integrity - it is no wonder they have been in this business for 30+ years. In today’s crazy world, where everyone promises all and delivers very little, Lighten Up Skylight is a breath of fresh air. We could not recommend them more highly. The job went very well. The custom skylights were ordered and arrived on a timely basis and the job was scheduled at my convenience. The job was started and completed in two days,

They did a great job. They followed through. They called and came when they said they were going to. They just did a really good job. They were clean and neat. They repainted the wood around the skylight and one of their workers used a different paint. I called them and they came immediately to fix it. They were very responsive. Their price was the same as the other companies.

It was a custom built skylight. We signed the agreement on 2/14/11 and I paid $3K and paid the remainder on 3/4/11 when they installed the skylight. There was a crew of 3-4 guys. I have a tile roof, so they used boards and sandbags to protect the tiles from being broken. It took about 4 hours to install. The guys were pretty much heads down the whole time...very efficient.

Towards the end of the work I asked them to paint the area where they reconstructed, which they did. They did warn me that there may be color mis-match, which I was fine with. But now there is a white area, where the under area is showing and there is now a leak. They told me to call them if any leaks appear, which I did. The owner is antagonistic and isn't helpful in wanting to resolve.

They were very good and they were always very punctual. Jack Randall, the guy who gave us the estimate, did a very good job providing pictures and information. The workers were on time and they had twenty years of experience doing the work. They were very clean, quick and professional.

Jack Randall came out the day after our initial phone conversation. By the next morning he had emailed us a detailed proposal which included the scope of work to be performed. His price included materials and labor was literally half of the competition so we scheduled the work for the following week. Jeff, the installer, showed up on time and spent the next few hours installing the skylight. Installation went very well and all work was performed as described.

They promptly responded to our calls and quickly came around to provide an estimate for their services. They were very professional and knowledgeable regarding what was necessary to complete the job. They properly covered and protected our flooring and properly cleaned and immediately discarded and old items no longer beneficial for use. They were absolutely amazing. They completed a great deal of work in a in a very short span of time.

Jack Randall is very responsive and totally professional. I had no face-to-face contact, due to my work schedule, but the job went perfectly. I really appreciate, that Jack went the extra mile to specify a solution, that did not require a custom fabrication. The price was fair. I highly recommend this company.

I received a very professional bid, with photos of the existing skylight from inside and out, with a description and a page of references of people who had work done by this company. The skylight was ordered, and two weeks later there were three men there installing it all day. When I came home from work it was finished and beautiful. You would never know that it had been a problem. I would highly recommend them for any skylight work. Very professional and left the work space clean.
