This auto detailing was a gift from my boyfriend. I made the appointment approximately a week before the work was completed. Upon making the appointment I asked what the actual detailing was that was included. Upon mentioning that I have a minivan, the man on the phone informed me that the $149 fee we paid did not include vans and that we should have read the fine print. I asked if they could just give me whatever service that they could do for $149, since it was a gift, and he agreed. The appointment was scheduled for between 8:00 & 8:30 on Monday, March 19th. The detail people were right on time. I gave them my keys and they went to work. After about 2 hours they told me they were finished. Upon inspecting the van, I noticed that the exterior was pretty clean and they did a good job on the wheels which have a lot of crevices. The mats were outside on the ground and looked very clean. The interior carpet was very clean. I was a little disappointed that the dash board was not cleaned with any vinyl cleaner and looked like they just dusted it off because I could still see dust streaks. One of the guys told me to leave the doors open for about an hour to let the carpet dry. I gave him a tip and they left. I wanted to start the car to make sure the battery wasn't dead since they had the doors open for so long and the driver's electric seat was moved all the way forward and I couldn't get in. I pushed on the button to move it back and it didn't work, so I immediately called the company to have them come right back, assuming they had just loosened a connector or something. To their credit, they immediately came back and got it working, and I was able to move my seat back. Here's the problem: The next day, I went to my van to open the under-seat storage compartment, which I use every day to store my purse so it is concealed, and the latch was completely broken off and missing. I had just used it the evening before they cleaned my van, as I do almost every day, so I immediately knew they had broken it. I called the company and the guy answering the phone said he would have the detailer call me. He called a few minutes later and when I explained the problem and told them I felt they should fix the latch since they broke it, he told me that it was already like that when they cleaned the van. I told him that he was mistaken and that maybe one of the other guys that was with him broke the latch. He said that he was the only one who worked inside the car. I told him that in that case, he was absolutely lying...the latch was in perfect condition before they touched it, and I am the only person who drives the van so no one else could have broken it. I also told him if I was going to make this up and try to get them to fix something they hadn't broken, why wouldn't I have just brought it up before they left? He couldn't answer that question. I asked him one more time if he was going to repair the latch and he said no, that he didn't break it. That's where it was left...they did not repair the latch. Overall, in my opinion, it is just a glorified car wash with a light wax and carpet shampoo, which I thought was very overpriced, but since it was a gift, I didn't have to pay for it. In light of them breaking the latch on the van, throwing away the piece, and then denying it and refusing to pay to repair it, I would never use this company again.

These guys were great. I can't recommend them enough. I am not someone who takes good care of my car, so when Angie's list had a $149.00 special complete mobile detail, I figured it was time. Mark Amaya, the President is great. First we tried to do it at my work, but my parking garage folks were stubborn, so opted to do it at my apartment on the weekend. The first weekend sked, I cancelled a couple days before as I knew I'd have to go into work work. They had no problem with that reschedule. THEN the weekend we had set was forecast for rain. Mark contacted ME to see if I wanted to reschedule the day before as he was on top of the forecast (not I). BTW, at this point I was OUTSIDE the "must use by" date of the Angie's coupon, but that was no issue for them. Today was the reschedule date, so OF COURSE there were raindrop on my windshield this morning (dang WEATHER). I cancelled 30 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment. They had NO PROBLEM rescheduling for next weekend. However, by 3pm, skies were sunny, so MIGUEL (the actual detailer) checked back in with me to see if I wanted to do it today, or next weekend when we scheduled. How great is that? Miguel and his buddy came to my apartment, found a place on the street to do the detail and could not have been nicer or more professional. They did an amazing job, to boot. I could not be happier. This outfit is all about customer service and satisfaction, a rarity these days.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service last fall. With the weather clearing out I decided to use it now for my somewhat grungy dark blue 7 year-old PT Cruiser, which is always parked in the driveway or on the street under a tree. I cleared out the shopping bags and other stuff the night before, so when the crew of three young men arrived early for the appointment they greeted us politely and went right to work. Their van has its own water and power supplies to use on the job. They worked steadily for several hours, and when they were done my car sat glistening in the sun in the driveway. The dashboard trim and instruments were shining. The upholstery and carpeting were showroom clean. And I was absolutely astonished to see that the front floor mats have a shadow-stripe pattern, something that was not visible previously. Not a speck of dust or a crumbled leaf was to be seen anywhere inside. The service and workmanship were excellent, and I was very pleased with the results.

This is my second experience with Starr Detail and owner Mark. I contacted Mark on a Tuesday for a detailing job on Thursday morning. I told Mark that all my previous BIG DEAL coupons had expired back in January and that I had no coupons to use for this new job. Mark informed me that he will take $50 off this job because I am an AngiesList member. I found that Starr Detail's prices even with the coupons in the past were higher than I had expected for a complete detailing job, so I would have marked prices at B, but because Mark had taken off $50, I found the pricing better, so I gave a grade of A this time. On Thursday morning, Mark's 3-man crew arrived promptly at 9am. Just like my previous experience with Starr Detail, they did a fantastic job on making all my cars Bling! I only found a few drops of water under the door handles on the Aston, few strands of fiber stuck between the cracks, and very tiny bit of wax left on one of the signal leds below the right mirror. All wasn't any issue for me, as I can wipe those out myself. There are two vents on the hood that had water stains, but with a little effort I cleaned them out too, again not that big of a deal for me. Other than those minor items, I am again completely satisfied with the crew's work on my cars. I only needed exterior detailing on 2 of the 3 cars, so they started and completed those two cars first, then they did a complete detailing on my Porsche Cayenne. Like before, the crew started work right away, and they knocked out the detailing one by one. My wife had to depart for a short time and when she returned, there was already a thin layer of dirt and dust collected on the car. One of the crew members ran another once over sweep on the car after they finished the complete detailing on my Porsche, which I really did appreciate at no extra charge. I'm very happy with Starr Detail's work and thoroughness to ensure that I was completely satisfied with the detailing of my cars. After a few days, Mark emailed me to see if I needed to schedule another appointment for a car I hadn't gotten work done due to the battery being dead, which again I appreciate and sincerely replied that I had not had the change to replace the battery, but because I had a great experience with Starr Detail, I ensured him that I will definitely be calling him back for future jobs as I will be needing a good waxing on both my Porsche and Aston at least once a month. 8) Thank you Mark for your crew's professionalism, punctuality, and attentiveness, and for your thoughtfulness of checking in with me; it's appreciated.

They provided me with great service. I had to sell my car and it had 2 scratches. A person came out and painted it, making the scratches almost invisible. They did a great job and were great. They did the job I expected; they had great communication skill and were great people to deal with. I will use them again in the future.

I called and set up an appointment. Three men came to the house on time and worked in our driveway. They were prompt and courteous and finished in roughly 2 and a half hours. The only issue was that a stain on one carpet mat couldn't be removed, a coffee stain from a forced quick stop. This was more than understandable. The finished product was impressive and brilliantly shining from the wax job. I think they use some kind of teflon product in the wax itself. Tires were nicely treated and very clean. Detail inside the car was complete and well done.

What a rip-off! Maybe they do a better job when you pay full price, but the Angie?s List deal turned out not to be a deal with all of their add-ons after they arrive. This is not a reflection on Angie's List, but the company. I?m sure Mark will comment on this, as I see he does with all the other negative comments, but I have yet to see him take responsibility for the rip-off practices of his company and continue to blame the consumer. My assistant set up the appointment as I have a difficult time speaking since surgery. I was in the room at the time of the phone call. She talked to the owner, Mark, who was very personable and nice with the initial set-up. I had her ask him about an extra charge for an SUV as the fine print said an extra charge for a large SUV. I have a small SUV - the Lexus RX330, compared to an Escalade or a larger Lexus SUV or other monster SUV. She told Mark about my SUV and he said no problem, it?s the same price as a car then, and I won't be charged extra. I had her verify with him two more times during the conversation that I would not be charged extra. The appointment was set up for 2:00 p.m. The day of the appointment I get a call from Mark asking if they can arrive earlier. I stated I would not be home and could we actually make it for 2:30 as I knew I would hit traffic. He said ?no problem? and they would be there at 2:30 on the dot. I arrived home at 2:10. 2:30 comes around and no one shows up. Finally at 3:30 I receive a call from Mike that his guys were stuck in traffic on the freeway and would be there soon. Ten minutes later they show up and tell me ?oh we were here waiting for you but got hungry and went up the street to get something to eat.? So not only are they late, but Mark lied about them being stuck on the freeway because of traffic, and they lied as well because I was home by 2:10 and no one was waiting. Then they tell me I have to pay an additional $50 because it?s an SUV. I called Mark and said you told my assistant there would be no additional fee. In a condescending tone he said ?look dear I don?t want to start off on a bad foot with you, so I?ll just charge you half that, $25, since it is a smaller SUV.? Right then I should have turned them away and gotten my money back from Angie?s List, but unfortunately I didn?t. And I didn?t appreciate being talked to in this manner. Then after they start to work on the car, one of the guys said, ?oh, I can get rid of those paint marks where you scraped the front/side bumper and side windows, and make the scratches disappear with buffing, have it looking like new for you, but it?ll cost you another $65." Which he let me know was a low price as it would normally be a higher price to also do the side mirrors. I thought for $65 let?s do it. I was going to take my dog out for a walk, and didn?t know if I?d be back by the time they finished, so I gave them $90 cash for the SUV charge and the buffing charge. Big mistake on my part and a lesson learned. I did get back before they left. There was some paper (trash) littered around my car, the paint and the scratches were still there (although I did see them working on those areas as I left for the walk), and the floor carpet mats were soaking wet and had large 4? lines down the front ones. One of the guys said, "oh look, I got some of the paint but you can?t really expect it all to come off." This was after he told me he would get it all off easily. It was obvious most of the paint did not come off, none of the scratches were buffed out, and they did not return my money. They put the sopping wet mats back in my car, left the litter around my car, packed up and left. I had to pick up the litter they left and throw out other small things they left out on my lawn. By that time I wasn?t even thinking about the wet mats. I'm giving them a "C" on Quality because although my car looked nice and shiny, it looked no better than after a great car wash. Additionally, the inside detail would have garnished them a better grade, except that after the wet mats sat in my car, my car smelled awful for over a week and the passenger side mat now has a permanent 4? mark on it that I have to see every time I drive. It won't come out. They should have dried those mats before placing them back in the car. Bottom line, they all act personable and friendly, however, they don?t live up to what they say they will do. I'm giving them a "B" grade on responsiveness simply because Mark was always available on the phone, but my overall experience was a "F."

I never thought my car would like new again. They worked for two hours and did a fantastic job!

The vendor's team arrived on time, described the work they were going to perform, and then proceeded to do the job. Took a lot less time than I thought. Excellent quality of work. They spent extra time to remove heavy oxidation from the older vehicle and it looks just like new.

Excellent service. They were fast and responsive and did a good detail job for half of the cost of my last one.

They arrived on time, introduced themselves, and set up their mobile car wash. They were efficient and professional. It was a pleasure having them work on car.

Overall a great experience for them and us! We'll definitely call them out again!!

I went well. Courteous workers, arrival on time, good work but not excellent, and the price was competitive but now cheap.

I had ordered, again, through a special deal from Angie's List for a $99 detail. You could choose either the inside or outside. I liked the fact that they came to my house. When they got here, I decided to also add the outside, which was an additional $99, plus a $20 charge for, I believe, a stain guard for the carpeting. In my opinion, I paid for the convenience of them coming out to my home. I have had cars detailed in the past, at a much lower amount, and my car would smell and look almost brand new. This was not the case with Starr detailing. It was acceptable, but the carpets looked just about the same and it did not look like a very good wax job at all. Whether it was the products they used or the help, I don't know. I would not use this company again.

The guy tried to sell me another $200 worth of detailing---buffing out some scratches and putting a teflon coating on my Lexus. When I declined twice, he was less than cordial.

Overall, it went great. There were some scratches that I was hoping they could get out but I think I was being unrealistic.

From beginning to end, a job well done.

I contact Mark via email. After several emails back and forth I agreed to have my small SUV detailed inside and out. We agreed on the price of $149.00. In the notes going back and forth I do mention to Mark my car is a small Ford Escape SUV. His reply to me "Great see you Saturday, January 21st. I kept all Emails. Mark called the morning of the 21st because it was raining so we decided to reschedule and I would get back to him with another date that work for both of us. That was my first phone conversation with Mark. Nothing was mentioned about a change in price. A week or so went by and I received a message on my phone from Mark asking we contact him for a date. We tried for about a week. Well he had left us an incorrect Phone Number. As I stated, I kept all the emails going back and forth and remembered Mark's phone numbers were listed on his notes. I did contact him and I mentioned this to him. We then scheduled Saturday February 4th at 1PM. On that day, his workers show up at my front door at 12noon. Okay great better late then never but still unannounced. A call stating they were on their way sooner than later would have been the proper professional thing to do. So they start in on the SUV but do not offer an invoice. I could not go out and ask because I was in the Shower! My husband did not think to ask because again they caught us off guard and busy! We had planned on them arriving at 1pm as scheduled. Once they finished the job, they told my husband the price of $199.00. My husband told them the price Mark gave me was $149 and I had that in an email for proof. The workers called Mark on the phone, Mark said I was wrong and he had it in an email note in which he states an SUV would be $50 more, I asked his worker to relay the message to Mark over the phone to please forward that note to me RIGHT AWAY! Of course he did not because that had never been discussed. They did a good job but by now I felt they were pulling a fast one on us! We are good honest people, so we paid the workers because this was more of Mark's issue then the 2 "guys" Mark sent out to do the job. I then sent Mark an email note asking him to PLEASE forward the note in which he claims he told me SUVs are $50 more! Instead he sends me a note which is totally unclear all the words are mispelled and half spelled stating he is PRETTY SURE HE TOLD ME IN ALL THE EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS BUT HE COULD NOT FIND THE NOTE. So I sent him back a response stating he was very unprofessional because if he was infact a true businessman he resply to me should have been more like this "Sorry Mrs Barnes for the confusion. Next time I will give you a $20 discount...." This would have been a proper answser since of course he was totally wrong. Lessoned Learned, Ask for an Invoice upfront and get it in writing but don't hire Mark with Starr Detail or Starr Motorsport because he was not honest enough to state He had not given me that information in Writing or In the one Phone converstation we had. Had he been honest up front and stated he may have forgotten to tell me that the cost was more, we would have gladly given him the extra $50 because it is the HONEST thing to and that's what I DO! REPONSE TO STARR MOBILE'S REPLY - AS YOU CAN SEE JUST BY THE CHOICE OF WORDS USED, TELLS YOU WHAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH. I DID NOT THREATEN HIM, OR PUSH HIM AROUND! ! REALLY! SIMPLY STATED I WOULD BE LISTING MY RECOMMENDATION WHICH IS MY RIGHT AS A SUBSCRIBER. SO HE VERY WELL KNEW WHAT I WOULD STATE SO YES HE WAS NOT SURPRISED! BECAUSE I WAS TELLING THE TRUTH! ALSO WHY PUT ANYTHING IN SMALL FINE PRINT IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE? JUST TELL THE CLIENT UP FRONT AND ASK THEM WHAT TYPE OF VEHICLE JUST DOEN'T SHOW UP AND THEN TELL THEM.. REALLY! THIS IS A DISHONEST COMPANY.

They showed up on time did a great job.

Their mobile detail van showed up exactly on time. The men went right to work and did a first rate detail job on my car. No complaints. Very good mobile detail company.

Everything went well. The technician was personable and did a good job with the repairs.

They arrived on time, with 3 guys and all the cleaning equipment in a trailer they pulled to our home. 5 hours later, they were done and the cars looked like new. Especially pleased with the interior.

Removed the old carpool stickers, no extra charge. Two very nice men who worked hard and had the job done in about two hours. Got the new car smell back in the auto. Would use again. We had to cancel the first appointment due to rain. They were very flexible, called me in advance to remind me.

The owner was very responsive and professional when I first contacted him but his crew did not live up to expectations. The first time they arrive was three hours late and then wouldn't stay because it was getting dark. He had called to say they would be late but I had already cancelled an afternoon of commitments to wait for them and were still much later than estimated. The second crew was professional but they didn't thoroughly remove the two stains I had on my carpet and did not call back when I ask them to redo. The cost was much higher than I have ever spent on a car detail. I was willing to pay more if it was worth it. It wasn't worth it.

They were on time they did and amazing job and yes I would use them again.
