I liked the prices and they did a good job.

He knows what he's doing. He works with a lot of high end clientele. He's done proven work. He kept his word on everything. He came and drove 35 miles one way to pick my car up. And then he dropped it off, as well, which would have cost me $300.00 to have it towed. He's was great, phenomenal.

This review is almost a year after I had the detailing done. I would probably have never written this, but AL keeps sending me requests to do a review and I guess they wore me out. Before I begin the review, I?d like to give a little background on my car detailing experiences. For the last 12+ years I have regularly used detailing services on my cars. Typically each car is fully detailed every 6 to 9 months. The shop that I used was run by a gentleman with over 25 years of detailing experience. All detailing was done by hand, no machines, performed by him and a crew of 3 long time employees. His work was outstanding and pricing was reasonable. Unfortunately he suffered an injury that forced him to sell his business. I have been looking for a good detailing shop for the last 3 years and was hopeful Starr Detail was it. This brings me to the review. I purchased 2 of these Holiday deals in late December 2011. I figured with all of the outstanding reviews and such a great price for the detail package, there was no way I could go wrong. This was my first AL purchase and I had high hopes. I called to make an appointment in late March 2012, for my 2001 Camry and Mark was able to accommodate my schedule on short notice. A crew of 3 arrived about an hour late due to mechanical problems with their van. They did call to let me know what was going on, and Mark also called me to make sure I knew the crew was going to be late. I asked the lead person if he needed to see the printout of the work to be performed, he responded ?no? that he knew what was to be done. At that point I pretty much left them to themselves, checking on things maybe once or twice. To my surprise 45 minutes after arriving they were done. The lead person showed me the car and told me the mats were drying on the clothes line. I tipped them and they left as they had another appointment to get to. After they had left I started to take a closer look at things. Windows were streaky, the car did not feel like it had been clayed, interior floors were pretty damp. The ?detail? portion of the detailing seemed to be missing. Nooks and cranny type stuff was still dirty, brake dust still on rims, doors and jams given cursory cleaning, and the mats were soaked to the point of dripping with water on the clothes line and it seemed as if the dirt was smeared over the whole mat. Mats looked worse than how they started. It took 3 days for them to dry out, remember this is in March. I also had to pick up the trash that they didn?t vacuum, but threw on the driveway instead, stuff that should have easily been picked up by their vacuum. The trash can was 3 feet from where the car was parked! If your eyes haven?t glazed over yet and you?re still reading this, you?re probably wondering why I didn?t contact Starr about this. My reasoning for not contacting them was simple, I wanted to see what kind of job would be done without me babysitting the crew and if things didn?t pan out, I just wouldn?t use them again. I don?t want to use a company that doesn?t get it right the first time. You only get one first impression. Remember I said I bought 2 of these details. I had given the other one to my brother. It turns out he had used his on his 2010 Volvo with similar results. He had a crew of 2 show up and finish in under an hour. I don?t know if they were the same crew or not. He was also unimpressed with the quality of work, for pretty much similar reasons. Two weeks after having the Camry detailed I was at a hand car wash where I occasionally go and the owner was asking if I wanted the car detailed. I told him it was detailed 2 week ago and he said it didn?t feel like it. His first question was did the car get clayed. I said yes it did, he said no it didn?t. So he took out a clay bar and did a small section on the hood and said this how it should feel. To which I told him yeah I know, it felt like it was only waxed without being clayed. What did I learn from this, if it sounds too good to be true?you know the rest. Bottom line is this is the type of detailing job I would expect from most high volume car washes, not from a company whose specialty is detailing. This experience makes me question the reviews that are posted on AL, maybe I need to give more weight to the marginal type reviews.

Had to initially be rescheduled on the day of the appointment because of the weather. Wished I was informed the day before so that I could have made better use of my time. They were able to accommodate me very quickly on another day that week. The guys who came did a great job and were very courteous. They asked me to look at the car after completion to make sure I was happy with it and I was.

Kenny and his partner arrived as scheduled after a call giving me a more accurate time of arrival. I really appreciated that. Kenny explained exactly what would be done and gave me an estimate of how long it would take. I had some stains on the drivers seat which he indicated might not come out. The stains were reduced significantly and I was quite impressed. The job took a little longer than anticipated but this is a large vehicle and it was filthy. They didn't cut corners to get done quicker. I had planned to be there all day so time was no problem. In the end my vehicle looked fantastic and it seems the products that were used help keep it clean longer.

They were fantastic. I have black interior in my car. I have a black and white dog. It was covered in dog hair. They were unable to get all of the dog hair out and because of that they threw in a free engine detail. They were really nice guys.

Wow! Mark and his company were nothing less than superb! My car looks brand new (MB), smells fabulous and was done right here at home. I wanted to change the date loast minute and they were accommodating and then I changed it back with no problem. My friends are jealous, especially at such a great price and with such ease. mark and his guys are the best and I will use them and refer them to everyone. I am still in awe even after 4 days of rain. A simple car wash brought it all back to "detail day!" Mark thanks so much!

Star Detail arrived at my home as scheduled. The two men did an excellent job of cleaning, waxing and detailing my CTS Cadillac. They were very friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend them to others.

I canceled the deal because they wanted additional money to complete the work.

They arrived on time and performed very professionally on the two vehicles. They are fully equipped with their own water and electric.

Since it kept raining in Southern California, I had to reschedule. Mark was gracious and accomodating. I needed them to come to my home on a Saturday and he made that happen, Two men showed up on time and did a wonderful job - a perfect job. My car looks brand new! They were courteous and so professional. I highly recommend this company.

They arrived earlier than appointed time but I had no problems with this... Two workers arrived and they were professional and got down to work as soon as they arrived...However, they only worked for 1 1/2 hours on the car. Usually when you are detailing a car, it takes quite a bit of time, at least in my past experiences. The car was shinny and clean but did not have a WOW factor....Because the color of the car is dark navy, it really looks amazing when detailed but not this time..

The techs, Ken and Kurt came out, were informative, professional, and efficient. They were also courteous. I was impressive that I didn't have to provide them anything to do the job. They brought all the materials with them. I opted to pay additional, to detail my engine, which exceed my expectation. I will use them use again and recommend them to others.

The crew showed up a little early, called to make sure that was okay, and then got started. They did a VERY thorough job, actually managing to remove swirl marks in the clear coat (the car is black, so swirls are particularly obvious). They did a great job of cleaning the interior, the windows, and they (per my request) left the steering wheel alone (some products leave it slippery). The inside of the car now has a 'new car' smell. Amazing. The only area they didn't clean was the under side of the hood, which still has water marks from when a coolant hose burst a few months ago. No big deal... didn't expect that. They were prompt, worked very quickly (3 people working simultaneously), and overall did a terrific job. They were cordial, polite, and completely professional. The products they used (the wax, leather cleaner, and window cleaner) seems to have been top notch. We would gladly use them again.

It was nothing wrong on their end. I didn't follow up and wanted to use the money on another deal. Therefore I prompted a refund request from Angie's List.

I never received service because the quoted price was $100.00 in excess of what the value of the coupon was. I was planning on only spending the value of the coupon, but was quoted a price that would have required I pay an additional $100.00. I had/have already received a PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) quote from a very reputable company that my car dealership deals with for $75.00. The reason I got this coupon was because I thought the price would be the same, and then I was going to use the additional $75 to get some wheel repair work done and would have been willing to pay some additional money for that since I've gotten quotes for wheel repair which average about $40 per wheel and I have 4 wheels.

They came out and spent a lot of time and really understood what it meant to detail a car. They were realistic and told us what they can do and can not do.

They did an outstanding job, were efficient and on-time. They had a difficult, beat up car to work with and it now looks brand new.

I understood when he missed the first appointment because it was raining but every other time he had another excuse for cancelling and once told me my cars were too dirty do the detailing when they weren't. He’s tied up a lot of time and I just decided to take it to another location to have it done instead. He was polite but he didn’t go out of his way at all to fix situation.

They did a good job, but they broke some trim on my car. However, I didn't follow up with them to see if they would fix it or not.

The car looked terrific when it was done. Two people from Starr came out to my home with a van and all the equipment they would need for the job. They were very friendly and thorough.

They were able to schedule the service for about ten days after I bought the deal. I arranged to have them come to my office. I had asked for the detailers to call me when they arrived, so I could let them into my building's garage... but the appointment time came and went, and no call. I called the company and they said the detailers had simply turned around and left when they couldn't get into the garage, but they didn't even call! But they came back and started the work on the car, taking hours and making it look like new so I could sell it. Excellent work.

Apparently vans require a lot more work than a standard car, so I would need to pay and additional $50.00. This was too much for me, so I decided to get a refund. They were very professional, nice, and he explained the additional fee. He was a very nice guy and wanted to make sure he did not do anything to upset me. I understand it is a business and will probably use them in the future.

Overall the service promoted was the service rendered. After the job they were patient and meticulous in explaining the type of cleaning that was done to my car and advised how to care for my car accorginly going forward.

Aside from the appointment cancellation issue, it went very well.
