Great experience with these guys every step of the way, from appointment to estimate to service. They carefully explained what they were going to do, showed up exactly on time, explained what they did and left the place spotless. And the price was reasonable. I picked them because of the positive review I had read on Angie's List, so am happy to report that the positive reviews about these guys are right on!

I hired this company to tile the entrance and a half bathroom at my place. They were very professional and did a great job. They showed up on-time and completed the work in 2 days, one day earlier than the original estimated. The quality of the work is also very good.

Fantastic experience. We had 7 different guys here (we broke the work into 3 separate jobs). Jorge and Joel did our hall bath conversion of tub to tub-shower. Chris came to re-caulk our master bath and re-grout our hall bath original floor. Alfredo and Roberto did our kitchen backsplash and hall bath vanity backsplash. And Alex and Oscar helped replace some prior bad tile setting / grouting in our kitchen. I think we met the whole company :) Every person who came to our house was respectful and professional. You can tell that they care about quality work. We had purchased some "challenging" material (very thick handmade tile), and they worked hard to make all the lines even and consistent. And the job site was left VERY clean at the end of every day. They were good at communicating surprises or concerns and helped worked through every issue. Ramy provided a very clear estimate and set expectations well so we didn't have any billing surprises. I would highly recommend The Tile and Grout King to anyone!

They were terrific. I liked their straightforwardness, punctuality, clarity of communication and quality of the work. I would recommend them without hesitation and use them again if necessary. I noticed that they had missed a line of grout after they had finished the work and left, and they came right back the next day and fixed it. I called them in the morning and their representative came out by lunchtime and fixed it with no questions or hesitation. They were prompt, polite and punctual. They really are of a good group.

We tried having a handyman re-tile our bathtub alcove back in July, and it was a disaster (wavy walls, grout lines that were supposed to be 1/8 inch were 1/2 inch to cover mistakes, and so forth). Tile and Grout King had to rip down all the tile, drywall and all, and start from scratch. I didn't realize installing tile was such a specific skill, but I absolutely do now. I will never use a handyman for tile ever again. Here are some items I noticed: 1. They were careful to protect our floor and bathtub from any damage. 2. All workers were polite and concerned that they did a good job. Alex, the main installer, was friendly and communicative. 3. All the grout lines were straight. They constantly used a level during the installation process (our ex-handyman skipped this part). Everything is angled downward where it should be (e.g. inside the shampoo alcove) 4. They did a great job compensating for our non-level walls. For example, the top of the alcove wasn't level, so they suggested that they angle the second row from the top along our back wall so that the side walls would appear even. It looks great, and you can only see the angling if you are really looking for it. 5. Both Rami, one of the owners, and Alex offered very good suggestions on what might work in our situation. For example, Alex suggested I skip the decorative tile around our shampoo alcove and use bullnose instead. We did that and it looks very good. I can see now that the decorative tile would have looked odd in that spot. 6. I had a concern about the straightness of the grout lines during the installation. I called, and everyone involved was very motivated to make me happy. The grout lines turned out perfectly straight. End result, they did a great job.

Initially received quote which was very fair and an estimate it would take two days. Appointment for the work to start was done by phone. Before coming they called to confirm the date and time. Arrived puncually on both days. Worked around that we were having two bathrooms worked on and we were not inconvenienced at all. Very professional in their approach and very willing to work with us regarding color when repainting the tile. Left detailed instructions on how to correctly care for the tile and grout going forward. Would definitely hire again.

We were very pleased with all aspects of this job. Initial phone contact with Owner Ramy Louis, estimate visit with co-owner Hany Louis (brothers) and the punctual and professional Chris, who was the man-on-the-job. This company demonstrated efficiency, professionalism, what appears to be quality work, although the best proof of that will be over time ( if the repairs hold up as well as the original work 30 years ago!), punctuality and neatness. We were offered three levels of work, from simple repair and sealing of damaged grout to a resealing of the entire enclosure after necessary repairs, which we selected. We were given a bid for each level of work, and the bid for the complete job was about 20% lower than another bid. The brothers made a follow-up call to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. We would be happy to recommend Tile and Grout King.

The Tile & Grout King Inc. was a friendly company, we just decided that it wasn't the right time to do the project. The service man was very friendly and seemed like he knew what he was doing.

I responded to an Angie's List offer. Hany came out to see the job and quoted $20. Less than the offer. 2 weeks later Jason came and did the work very well. He had the $20. check as reimbursement. The job went very well, the estimator and the worker were prompt and professional.

The work done by The Tile & Grout King Inc on the tiles was excellent. They did a good job and cleaned everything after finishing the job. I was very happy with that. They cleaned and sealed the rest of the grout in the kitchen but, the floor was very dirty. I ended up having them stain the grout. I am happy with the staining. The workers were great and everything was good. They met me halfway in the estimate. The staining took a whole day as I had lot of tiles and they worked from 9am to 5-6 pm to finish the job. I have no complaints.

Ramy provided an estimate on 12/1/10 for re-grouting the tile floor, and then offered a discount based on some additional minor work (recaulking some areas, spot cleaning of grout on walls & countertop). He was professional and provided good feedback to my general questions. Brendan arrived promptly on 12/20/10 to perform the work and spent most of the day on this job. The end result transformed the small bathroom--the floor grout looks great and the additional work he did really improved the appearance of the room. I'm really pleased with the result.

I'm going to hire him again. He was here the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Thanksgiving week. Seeing that it was just before the holiday I was surprised that he was willing to come out and do it. He gave me a reasonable price. They were on time. One of the owners and the workers came and they knew exactly what they were doing. They were very professional and had no questions. They were done in 2 1/2 days, which was a lot faster than they had expected.

They were on Angie's List. The job did not go well overall. I had to call them back three different times to do the job. My husband had to talk to them and tell them to please do a better job. It was very bad. Their price was about average. They kept coming back and were trying to do the job.

They did a pretty good job on the tile. It was level and the lines were straight. They were on the expensive side, but they had full insurance and had a crew to do the job, although they took the full 5 days to get it done and they barely made it! They did leave my cabinets a little dirty and they missed one grout joint (I did it myself, but someone else might have had to bring them back), but overall I was very happy with the job.

Everything went very well. There was a possiblility of a problem as the worker said he never worked on slate before and the grout/caulk mixture he was using was getting into the fine lines/valleys in the slate, but after a thorough cleaning it came up. Did a good job at matching the existing grout.

The tile installation went well and looks great. They were professional, neat and polite.

There were two separate tasks: removal and installation. They were quoted together, but performed separately. I had one quote for the entire job, plus additional options which were not exercised. The quote and verbal statements stated an additional 5-15% discount, depending on what I elected to do. Angie's List also indicates a 5% discount. Removal: The team of 4 removed the existing tile countertop and backsplash (originally floated on mortar base) and some carpet. This took one day, as expected. This was messy and dusty, but they completed it neatly and cleaned up. No problem. Paid the quoted price with no discount (frankly, I forgot to ask about it at this point). Installation: The team of 2 worked for 3 full days. The tile was installed with thinset over drywall -- no mortar. It looks fine. Cuts are neat and straight (the tile was tumbled travertine which is, by its nature, somewhat irregular). I supplied the tile, they installed it. When I asked about the promised discount, it was denied. I pointed out that the Angie's List coupon promised 5% and he said this was only for jobs over $1000. The install was $950. I pointed out that there was also a $590 removal that was not discounted. I felt this was misleading.

We solicited bids from several contractors. The shower and shower door were intact, the bathroom floor was covered in plywood. Tile and Grout King arrived right on time to do the estimate, were very willing to answer all of our questions and their follow up before we selected them was superior. The price they quoted was neither the highest nor lowest, but we felt that Tile & Grout King offered the best value and seemed very responsive. We decided to demolish the shower and remove the plywood on the floor ourselves to reduce cost. We removed everything except the plumbing, leaving bare studs and insulation. Work started right on time on day one with a carpenter and plumber to get the plumbing installed,frame up the shower pan and install purple drywall. Over the next several days a different pair of guys floated mortar over the walls and shower pan, making sure that everything was square and plumb. A couple of days later the membrane was installed. The bathroom subfloor was pretty uneven, and in one spot flexed quite a bit so before the floor could be floated with mortar we had to scramble to find a carpenter to stiffen the floor on short notice so that our schedule wasn't missed. After we'd had the floor fixed, the tile installers floated the floor with mortar. We had purchased shower tile some years earlier, but found we were a bit short, so we talked over some design options with the crew, purchased some tile complementary to what we already had and worked out the final shower design. The guys did a great job installing the shower and floor tile and we're extremely pleased with the results. The experience overall was very good, the quality of the work is excellent, the people were a good to work with, they also took great care to keep the rest of the house clean throughout the process. The job took longer than originally estimated, but people showed up on time every day and worked hard all day. Perhaps the original schedule was optimistic. There were a few miscommunications that had to be resolved but nothing significant. We'd happily do business with Tile & Grout King again.

Excellent overall. Started and finished on schedule. Results look great. Immediate area next to work area could have been better cleaned of grout dust that probably accumulated during work. I would use them again. Was an awesome value with "Angies List Big Deal" savings of $300.

Brendan was punctual, thorough, friendly and accomodating. He was very sensitive to keeping the rest of the house closed off so my 2.5 year old and my (pregnant) self wouldn't have to breathe in any fumes. He took great care and detail in the work and our bathroom looks great!

Worker showed up promptly within the specified 30 minute window. Was friendly and reviewed all the work expected to be done. He worked throughout the day repairing tiles that were not well supported on wall due to water damage. This work was not part of original estimate and thus repair took longer than expected. Yet added costs were very reasonable especially when considering the amount of extra labor required. The finished result looked very professionally done. We are very pleased with the result. I would use them again and highly recommend them for tile and grout repair.

We selected this company because they offered the best estimation among the contractors we met. Total cost is $5600, including materials. Their work was very professional. First they covered the other rooms and the kitchen cabinets with plastic sheets to minimize spread of dust. They worked without any messy in the work area and garage. Everyday they cleaned after work. They also flagged potential issues and resolved ahead to avoid rework later. Tile layout with diagonal was completed through the multiple rooms without any compromise. It is very nice.
