put in a call to the company, re having someone come out and really test the furnace, especially the thermostat and blower...which I would have been happy to have done instead of the tune-up that did not happen. No go. still no furnace or diagnosis. Carbon Monoxide detector is nice but not worth the money. Still have to have the work done. I am giving average score because I myself was not clear on the difference between diagnosis and tune up.

Matt was very good and receptive to needs. Would use again. Asked for a quote for additional work but have not heard back yet.

Found problem with solenoid, replaced PCB to fix that, also changed/replaced filter; also 2 people came to do all ducts cleaning with proprietary vacuum device.

Technician was on time, friendly, and helpful, and making an appointment was a breeze. No complaints on the service--I was underwhelmed by the technical skill of the technician though: - Added Freon since the unit was low, but didn't comment on the obvious leak or suggest a next step to address it - Shrugged and blamed the compressor for the loud/rattle of the unit (something I asked him to figure out what was wrong). I insisted it wasn't normal...turns out the unit wasn't bolted properly. That made a *WORLD* of difference on the loudness of the unit - Other recent deals have included up to alb Freon for the the same price of this eal...these guys added $50 for that.

We scheduled a $69 maintenance visit from an Angie's list special, but told Central Heating and Air that we knew a repair was probably also needed. The scheduler appreciated that advance notice and Lucky, the technician found the issue very quickly (a failed capacitor) and replaced it, then continued with the maintenance. Scheduling was well within the window, and we were very happy with the efficient, personable service. The labor for replacing the capacitor was $150, and the capacitor was $50. The cost was a bit more than we were hoping it would be, but isn't everything?

I purchased an air condition tune up through Angie's List, made my appointment easily. The technician phoned about fifteen minutes before arriving for the appointment at the scheduled time. Matt was courteous and professional. He serviced the air conditioner and cleaned the outside of the unit. Matt showed me how to clean the outside next year if I do not have it serviced each year, showing me how to unplug it before doing so. He took the time to get three screws from his truck to put the cover back on the control panel as the previous company who had serviced it had only put one screw on the panel. He did not try to sell me any other services as so many companies would try to do. I will use them for any other heating or air conditioning needs that may arise.

We cancelled the special coupon deal because of a misunderstanding of the terms of the deal.

Because it has been many years since our last check, we thought the AC may need service. The representative checked the various parts using the appropriate instruments and found no significant problems. He thought the thermostat may have difficulties in the future due to a slightly corroded switch.

He checked our furnace for proper airflow, finding a very dirty filter and a panel that was incorrectly installed. Checked checked the air temperature at our vents (30 degrees below room temperature). Everything was working well, he suggested a couple additional services without any pressure (duct cleaning and fan replacement). He explained how long our system would likely last with good maintenance. Our AC is running well, so we opted for no additional service. Though I will call them first for any future service, great experience!

It was a simple straight forward service. All went well!

They did a great job with no problem. They did exactly what they had to do. They came on time. They did what they needed to do. They left no mess. It was an excellent price.

What a great experience with Matt. He was scheduled to be here between 12 and 2. He called at 10:30 and asked to come early if it wasn't an issue. He did. He quickly located the leak and repaired it. Then recharged the system and now the house is cool again. This has been an ongoing issue with our system each summer, but previous service calls from other providers never diagnosed the leak - most wanted to charge us for a new system or just recharge it. I'm surprised how quickly Matt diagnosed the issue and fixed it.

Excellent. Timely, efficient and informative

They were good in making appointments and keeping the time of the time as scheduled. They did a good job of explaining some complicated aspects of our unit.

This was a $79 deal. Had I paid full price I wouldn't have been happy. This is the first Angie's List deal I've tried so I'm left wondering whether one is expected to limit expectations in comparison to services hired at full price. Point in case being, it was the serviceman's first call out on his own, and he was, understandably, nervous and somewhat frazzled. He was somewhat confused about a couple of things but stuck to it and saw the job through. He was a nice guy and polite and dedicated - I wished him luck and told him things would get easier with each job completed. If I use CH&A again, I'm sure he will have got over his nerves - but I would ask that I don't have a first timer come out again. AC seems to be working fine.

The worker arrived on time and ready to work. Very informative about what he was doing and took our input as well as questions we had. Did job all the way to completion without making us feel he was in a hurry to get away. Even did the two indoor vent screen spraying for us as one is way too high for us to access anymore. Pleased with the service.

Ok. He was punctual, neat and explained what he was doing

The technician came out for the tune up. He hooked up monitors, checked things, checked air cooling, etc. Then he said I was very low on refrigerant. There must be a leak but he didn't check for where. He said that he could come back again to fill the refrigerant (at $50 per pound). They later sent me a written quote of $300 to recharge the condenser with 2 lbs. Nothing was said about the leak (checking for that would be extra if I wanted to pay for that). I have heard that a reputable company would never add coolant without checking for a leak. Then they got back to me and said the first quote was a mistake and it would be $400 for 4 lbs. It is an old AC so at that rate maybe I should just replace the whole thing. But I wondered how the rest of the AC was? This "tune-up" did not include any report on condition of the "20 points". So I emailed back and they responded "All other items are within specifications." Unsatisfied, I had another local (reputable) AC company come out. They checked the AC and instantly found a leaking Schrader Valve (which should be pretty obvious). Why didn't Central Heating find this? One of the "points" was "inspecting service valves". The new company changed the leaking valve and added several lbs of coolant (at the going rate of $12 per lb., not $50). Total charge from the new company was $240. What a deal! I sincerely wish that I never purchased Angies List Big Deal with Central Heating and Air. It was a wasted $69.

I would use them again and they were good.

They were good. Their demeanor was good and they were knowledgeable. One guy tracked a little dirt in my house but that was a small point. The quality of work was good.

Very professional, punctual, easy to do business with. Everything went perfectly.

The service call went smoothly, the two technicians arrived on time, were friendly and efficient, and I was pleased with the job they did.

It took a while to get an appointment - they were quite busy at the start of winter. They did a good job servicing a very old heating system. They recommended replacing it but we use it so seldom in No. CA = probably not worth it at this time.
