Friday 9/30/2011): Left message requesting microwave repair. Call was returned within 30 min. (That part was good.) Was told repair tech would call 8-10 AM Monday with appt time after day's schedule was determined. Monday 10/3/2011: Rearranged my plans to be available but no call as of 3 PM. Not OK!

Went exceedingly well. Please see narrative above.

Called first thing Monday morning. Phone answered immediately, info taken with assurance that it would be taken care of same day. Jim came out that morning. Pleasant. Extraordinarily professional. Organized. Worked effciently, rapidly, with attn to not wasting time/money. Explained thoroughly as he went along. Knows his field. Provided excellent information. Bottom line: it works very well now. Very pleased. No complaints. Recommend highly.

PERFECT!

South Coast came out to both my home and my rental property on this date. At my rental the tech was able to diagnose the problem and recommend the dishwasher be replaced rather than be fixed. I was only charged for the service call which I thought was reasonable and better than other companies. Both technicians (Jim Southern owner and a second person) were scheduled right away and both were courteous and very knowledgeable. Will use again.

They were very good to work with. They were prompt in their response and made it out to fix the problem quickly. They came out at the time that was promised and even called about 30 minutes prior to their arrival. The technician was very knowledgeable and polite. They didn't have the part that was needed on the truck with them, they came back with the part and didn't charge me extra for making two visits. The person I spoke with at their office was also very polite. I had a very positive experience with them and would not hesitate to call them in the future.

Found problem (burnt wire) and repaired the oven. Fast and efficient at a reasonable price, I'm satisfied.

The Other Guys could come out in three days for a diagnostic house call but, Sir Galahad in a repair truck, Jim Southern came out within hours of our calling for an appointment. We were expecting to hear we needed to re-finance the mortgage in order to buy a new Sub-Zero (space considerations limit us to that shape) but no, he got in there and now I'm just watching the frig temp drop into the "lovely zone." Nice, smart, professional, well-informed, doesn't do a wallet biopsy, looks for simple fixes that work - he's stuck with us forever!

They were late, but were very professional and polite. I delt with Jim and Terressa who were both professional and curtious.

Our refrigerator seemed to stop working. I called South Coast and a polite serviceman arrived within a couple of hours. He quickly discovered and explained to me that the only thing wrong was two burnt out light bulbs - and that no extensive repair was required. He even instructed me on how to clean the heat exchanger under the unit to avoid future overheating problems. He was done and gone in 15 minutes and only charged $53.

South Coast Appliance Repair was referred to me by another repair person that does not do refrigerator repairs. I called Jim to schedule an appointment for the next day. Jim called around 5:00 PM to ask if I was available and wanted him to look at my refrigerator that evening. Yippee, that was great. Jim explained what the refrigerator was doing, about the freezer air cooling the refrigerator and about the cold control device. Before spending a lot of money on repairs, he made some adjustments which seem to be working great. I asked him to look at the ice maker (which wasn’t making much). He determined there was insufficient water being supplied and that it was a plumber’s job. I was extremely grateful as there was a skimpy plastic tube supplying water and that tube could have ruptured anytime and flood the kitchen and worse. Jim just charged for the service call and recommended I monitor the refrigerator to see if the adjustments resolved the problem.

I was out of town. My daughther reported my freezer was freezing up with ice and my refrigerator wasn't cooling. I called South Coast Appliance and they arranged for Jim to come out the next day. Jim came took care of the problem within an hour of arrival and let me pay via credit card by phone.

Called on a Tuesday to make a Friday appt. Unfortunately, they will only commit to someone coming out sometime from 9-5 (no shorter window); they are supposed to call when they are getting ready to come out. I stayed home on Friday and called Theresa first thing in the morning to confirm my appointment. Unfortunately, I waited around the whole day and ended up having to call Theresa again when no one had come by by 3:00 pm. Turns out, Jim uses subcontractors and the subcontractor he chose for my job doesn't work in my area (PQ), but the subcontractor failed to notify Jim of this. To try to make it right, Jim agreed to come out on Sat morning. He called me at 8:00 am on Sat and said I would be the 2nd job. I figured that meant someone would be by around 11:00 am at the latest. Unfortunately, he forgot about me and I had to call at 2 pm to remind him that he still hadn't been by. He admitted to completely having forgotten our appointment. Though he was down in San Diego, he managed to get back up to our house by 3ish and was gone by 3:45 pm. I was disappointed in the time I had to wait for two days and that I had to call several times to get someone to remember come out, but ultimately the problem seems to have been fixed for very little money. So, I guess I would use them again.

The technician showed up on time and replaced some parts and the unit is working fine now. I would use this company again. I prefer to not disclose what I paid for the service.

From start to finish, a great experience. After calling the main number which is an answering service, I got a return call within two minutes, super fast response. Work was scheduled for the very next day from the time I heard about the problem from my tenant to the time the problem was fixed took LESS THAN 24 hours. Technician was exactly on time and communication was very good to make sure we were meeting up at the right time and place. Technician was very friendly and took the time to explain to me exactly what was wrong with the dryer. Work was done quickly and complete clean up was performed afterwords the area around the dryer was left cleaner than when we had arrived. The technician even shortened the dryer vent duct to make the area neater. These guys came to me by recommendation and I would definitely recommend them to anyone else.

JIM SOUTHERN ALWAYS CALLS IMMEDIATELY AFTER HIS ANSWERING SERVICE PAGES HIM. HE ALWAYS FINDS TIME THE SAME WEEK TO COME BY. I ALWAYS FEEL HE IS VERY HONEST WITH THE WORK HE SAYS IS NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED. HE SEEMS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT ALL SORTS OF APPLIANCES.
