Description of Work: Harry is a very nice man. I wanted an additional lock installed on my front door and he was already familiar with the key pad lock I had previously purchased to be installed. He kept me informed while he did the installation, explaining everything to me along the way. He had to be creative with the insert on my door jam as it is steel and he did it perfectly. It all went well and in no time I had my security lock installed. He cleaned up everything, was very polite and I would definitely use his services again.

Description of Work: Helped me unlock master bedroom door. I have old fashion custom knobs on the doors in my home. My dogs like to jump and must have triggered the lock on my master bedroom door; causing it lock behind me when I let the dogs out of the room and shut the door behind me.

Description of Work: Being buried in "stuff" that happens after buying a new home, I realized out of all the keys I received, I lost the one needed to open my mailbox. Finding out not all locksmith skills include postal mailbox locks and keys from another locksmith on Angie's List, I was able to review the job descriptions here and found Harry Melkonian, at Locksmith Central, North San Diego. He answered my call right away, listened to my situation politely, responded professionally and clearly while making me feel confident and secure to give my address.

Description of Work: Harry arrived promptly and ground down the door jams on two doors with his Dremel drill so the doors and locks worked and shut properly. One door would not open at all and I thought it was the lock and knob but it was the door jam. Very pleasant and efficient service. Highly recommended.

Description of Work: I had two doors, with a total of four locks rekeyed and serviced. One deadbolt had a broken key in the lock.

Description of Work: I used Locksmith Central. I found them through Angie's List. We had six locks replaced.

Description of Work: Two dead bolts were in need of being rekeyed and some door knob locks were in need of lubrication.

Description of Work: 11 door locks were re-keyed to actuate with a single key, as contrasted to previously keying with 4 and 7 door locks respectively on two distinct keys. Multiple copies of the now single use key were provided.

Description of Work: I called Locksmith Central today because I accidently locked myself out of my home and didn't have my backup key readily available. I called the number and spoke to Harry (I think he's the owner) and told him what happened. He was en-route to another job, but spent time talking to me about his availability and timing as to when he could come out to my house that same day. We agreed on an arrival time (convenient to my schedule by the way) and a price, which was highly competitive and fair. Harry was extremely customer focused and professional in his communication with me. I could tell from talking with him that he values his customers and takes pride in his work. Shortly after our conversation, I was able to get my backup key and gain entrance to my home. I called Harry letting him know what happened and to cancel the appointment. He was very appreciative of the opportunity and thanked me for considering his company. Although I didn't use his services this time around, I did ask him if he was interested in adding a few new locks to my home as a result of his outstanding customer service. Once I get actual work completed at my home, I'll provide another update. In the meantime, I thought it was important to include this update due to Harry's sense of urgency and helpfulness.

Description of Work: Re-keyed several doors, drilled out and replaced a mailbox lock and graciously opened up an alarm system lock box and rigged it so we could get back in without a key - he advised us not to have him change the lock b/c it really wasn't necessary - he could easily have had us change the lock, as we had planned, to make a little more money, but he was honest and fair - don't see that very often.

Description of Work: All entry locks in our house were re-keyed. Ten extra keys were made, all of which work perfectly. A latch was installed on the inside of our automatic garage door. When we slide it to the "on" position, the door will not open when a remote opener is used, meaning it won't open if thieves drive by and use illicit means to try to get in.. It gives a wonderful sense of security.
