Fidel and his crew did an outstanding job. The rafter structure needed to be reinforced at the request of a structural engineer. This work was followed through with efficiency and accuracy. He showed me step by step how it was going to be done, the amount of time it would take and the cost involved. We were shown the different styles of tile roofs and heard the pros and cons of each. He brought sample colors of the type of tile we chose in order to see how they would look with the color of trim on the house. The crew was always on time and worked tirelessly to complete the work even in the most extreme heat. I found Fidel to be cordial and open to questions about the job. The job was completed on time and just looks great.

Fidel was great! He was quick to come out and do an assessment. Took pictures and gave us the bottom line of the problems we had. His crew was punctual, polite and friendly. They cleaned up every day when they finished. They started on a monday and finished on a saturday. Our roof was very old and had many problems. They fixed it beautifully and installed 2 solar tubes that look wonderful. The work done looks perfect. Our neighbors have commented on how beautiful it is. All in all, work was done in an incredibly timely manner considering how much work needed to be done. Would definitely recommend C39 Roofing to anyone I know. They are wonderful!

My roof had developed several significant leaks, so I checked Angie's list and called roofing companies. C/39 Roofing wasn't my only estimate, but I liked the professionalism shown by Fidel Cruz, appreciated that it was a local family-run business, and the estimate was reasonable. The crew of two worked on our roof in record-breaking heat. They remained courteous and professional throughout. When the San Marcos fire brought heavy smoke over the house, Fidel Cruz checked on his men and suggested they leave if the heat or smoke was too much. We were not asked to evacuate, so they preferred to finish the job, which I appreciated, since part of the roof was bare wood at the point news of the nearby fires reached us. I would rate them highly in general, and especially high in this situation. Happy with the work, impressed by the crew and the company.

I chose him because he is in San Marcos and came right out and gave a great estimate. He was very professional. Once we had a good rain, we found the roof held up great.

The job started on a Tuesday with the tear off of the old shingles, which took abut 5 hours (including clean up). As the tear off crew left the roofers arrived. Total work time was 3 days and 3 hours. The clean up was immaculate. Fidel Cruz and his crew were very professional and polite and answered all my questions. Also received a 5 year warranty on the work performed. I UNCONDITIONALLY RECOMMEND C39 ROOFING! Wish there were more companies around which take such pride in their work.

We were happy with them. I dealt with Fidel who's the owner and he gave us the best price and did a really nice job. Everything worked really well. Even though he's the owner, he came out and made sure everything was going well and checked in. We were very happy with it. They took care of everything very quickly.

Fidel came to our house in Del Cerro to give us a free estimate on some roof repairs right after we bought it - immediately his professionalism and knowledge were apparent (super nice guy too). He explained that we could get by with our existing roof for maybe 5-7 years with some repairs. Ultimately we decided to do a whole new roof. Throughout the process Fidel explained what would happen, when and why. He gave good insight on roof color and other various things you don't think about when replacing a roof. He took me on to the roof to show me the wood damage and what was being replaced. He more or less retracted his 5-7 year estimate and said, "it's a good thing we are doing this now." The damage to the sheathing and other wood that not exposed was a lot more than expected. The final cost for the roof ended up a bit more than the original estimate mostly due to the additional wood replacement that was required (but it's included in the Angie's List 'cost of service'). Because of some scheduling conflicts on our part the entire project took about 8 days (all the way until about 4:30pm on Christmas Eve). We are glad we chose Fidel and C39 Roofing for our new roof and would recommend them to anyone looking for any kind of roofing work.

There were multiple Big Deals on Angie's List for a roof tune-up. They all had slightly different prices and terms (number of vents to be sealed, tiles repaired, etc.). However, after closely reading the reviews of the other members, I selected C39 on the basis of being an owner-operated business with no reported incidences of using the Big Deal as an entry to hard up-sell roofing services. Fidel called me two days ahead of the scheduled appointment and asked if he could come that morning since he was in the area. I agreed and he showed up with his assistant a half hour later. After inspecting the roof, they showed me the cell phone photos of a few vents needed caulking and a couple of cracked tiles. He explained which tiles could be replaced and which could be repaired and agreed to take care of it at no extra charge since I'd accommodated his schedule. He left shortly thereafter, but his assistant spent another hour plus taking care of these minor repairs. The only reason that I gave them an "B" for Quality is that the assistant did not provide photos of the repaired tiles to confirm the work - and to be fair, I forgot to ask him. Otherwise, thumbs up for great attitude and service.

Fidel Cruz the owner was at all times totally professional and easy to deal with. His employees (no contractors) were here when they said they would be, did a great job on the roof, and cleaned up each day. It is such a pleasure to meet someone who believes in quality and who actually pays attention to achieving it. We had to work around the weather a bit which was no issue to them or me (no ones fault!). Great job all around.

Fidel Cruz is a no nonsense contractor. I wasn't present when he preformed most of his work. However when I would show up unexpectedly Fidel was in full control of his workers. It was very organized, when he filled one truck with the old roof another truck was ready to go. My next door neighbor is a roofing contractor in Arizona and he said this guy was amazing. I am very satisfied with his work and would hire him again.

He offered me a lift and lay job. He made me aware that we didn't actually need to replace the tiles and that the ones we had would be fine. I appreciated his honesty. The only reason we didn't use this company was that another company offered an additional service for the same price. I agreed to that company instead of trying to talk him down some more.

These workers were on time every day & extremely professional. They were higher priced than a few other companies we interviewed but felt they were the best. They turned out to be highly qualified & very professional. Always on time, worked every day until finished and did a GREAT job. We would not hesitate to call them again!

Fidel is a reliable professional who (as he promised) does good work. Fidel owns C39 roofing and clearly cares about his business. The job was priced competitively and Fidel himself was very responsive to questions regarding shingles and all the other options we were considering. It was this responsiveness and professionalism (plus that it is a locally-owned small business with an excellent reputation) that made us go with this roofer rather than competing bids. Work started a few days after we signed the contract and proceeded remarkably quickly. The roof was stripped bare in a day. The next day saw the re-roofing almost complete. The crew was friendly, yet professional. I came home from work when they were just finishing up the laying down of the new shingle and a couple was stopped in front of my driveway trying to shout to the guys on the roof what company they worked for! They had stopped their car while driving down the road because they liked the look of the new roof so much! I told them to google C39 Roofing and they were happily on their way! Suffice to say the roof + renovated fascia looks fantastic, and has totally transformed the look of our house. When I wanted to install a new bathroom vent, Fidel's guys were flexible enough to help me out. As a whole, the new vents and flashings were painted tastefully to match the shingle color. A gutter company (don't know their name) were subcontracted out to come and install new gutters/downspouts. Before this, we had detailed discussions with Fidel on the color and design of the new guttering, mostly discussing where the new downspouts should be placed. These were installed exactly as we had expected. Finally, the skylight was installed a few days later (the bronze color was a special order). The clean-up was done well, and we have a beautiful new roof! I would HIGHLY recommend C39 Roofing to anyone.

Overall we are very happy. The work got done on schedule and the new roof looks great. C39 had the most reasonable pricing of all the quotes we got. During the demo i got a nail in my tire and the owner Fidel made good on it. Fidel was pleasant to work with and his workers were professional. We would use them again and would recommend them to friends. The quality of the materials used and the workmanship seem great. We live in Jamul which is pretty far from San Marcos where C39 is located but they were able to provide service to us anyway and still arrived early every morning.

I bought an Angie's list coupon for $149 roof maintenance and had a heck of a time scheduling it. I called several times during business hours but always got the answering service. It took at least 2-3 days to get back to me and we played phone tag for over a month. To be fair it says on their website the best way to get in touch with them is via their email and once I figured that out we were able to schedule the service. Unfortunately, it wasn't what it was made out to be, the technician (Carlos?) showed up and said I needed a replacement of 20 to 30 tiles and some of the tar paper replaced. NO WORK was performed just an estimate and some promised pictures that I never got. Since I was getting the house ready to rent I wanted the work done as soon as possible as I was moving out of town. The $149 was deducted and I paid the $451 online and was told the work would be done Friday. While I was at work Thursday I was told the work had already been performed but when I got home I had no way of knowing. No receipt was on the door. My ladder had already been packed so I couldn't see any difference in the roof so I have no idea if the work was performed nor to what quality. All in all very disappointing experience.

He came on time and was very courteous and did what he said he was going to. He even got up on the roof and took some pictures so he could show me what he was doing.

The whole job from start to finish was done in a very professional manner and all the crew were great. They cleaned up really well at the end and the end of each day. Fidel was always available to talk to on the phone or via email and was very professional. If anything was needed or a problem he would explain everything. The job was done as quoted. C39 provided us with a bid and some ideas for improving our roof. Job entailed stacking tile, laying new roofing , replacing 3 skylights , and re-engineering the roof and support beams at our entry. Job went well despite lots of rain. The roof and changes are great.

Title says it all, they returned my phone call and promised to show up the following week, I waited at home but no one showed up, so I called the company the next day but no one bothered to call me back. Very unprofessional.

I had reviewed several roofing companies and called and left messages for 3 of them for estimates. C39 Roofing was first to call back. C39 came and gave estimate and explained what was going on in a way I could understand and answered all my questions. Since their price seem reasonable and minor and time was somewhat of an essence (with more rain predicted), I did not get multiple estimates. They came promptly and were courteous. My inspection afterward showed they did a good job and I am well pleased. They cleaned up afterwards nicely. Though it has rain a little bit since being fixed, it has not rain as much as before. So far no problems. I would use them again and recommend them to others.

They were easy to work with and I was well pleased with their job. The communication with Fidel was excellent and he made sure exactly what extra work we wanted done. They also cleaned up after the job which is one of the things that should be done and is ignored by contractors that don't take pride in their work. I would highly recommend C39 roofing they did a very good job at a fair price.
