A good experience from the first contact at the showroom to the completed installation. No surprises or problems. I would use A-1 again.

The people, his workers that he used to move the furniture broke several things and had to go back and we claimed some of the money that had been paid to them to do the carpets in order to justify the breakage of some of the furniture. The price was very competitive. The price was great, however, their service sometimes is not always smooth if the service isn't good. The company itself and the people working there at the company were all wonderful and very nice people.

They did all the tiling in our house in 2008. They also did the carpet in our bedrooms. They were done within the time frame that they estimated. They did a great job and they have great pricing. They are professional, friendly and helpful.

We had carpet replaced throughout our home -- living room, family room, hallway, three bedrooms and closets. From our first contact with Rich, the sales rep at the store, through the installation done by Juan and Ysidro, things could not have gone better. Rich worked with us to find the appropriate carpet (and even offered options less expensive than what we were leaning toward and ultimately chose). His follow-up was great, without ever being overbearing. His estimates on time, cost and material were spot-on. Juan and Ysidro were punctual and efficient in their tear out and installation. The new carpet looks amazing, and we are thrilled with the results.

The owner of the company is very easy to work with and goes out of his way to make sure you are happy. The crew worked hard and did a decent job of installing the carpet.

They were in and out in a timely manner and left things as they should have. Everything was clean and I didnt even see where the carpey repair was.

Bob and his team were phenomenal. They had a lot of good people working for him. They took care of the water damage and did all new flooring.

I've actually referred them to a couple of jobs. They've done an outstanding job, I've got nothing but good feedback and good compliments on them. I actually met the owner of this company several years ago and haven't had a lot of contracts with them until again just kind of recently, I moved a little bit away and now they're actually in my area available to perform services so I gave them a call and I think what sets them apart is their customer service, they return phone calls, they get a hold of the customer, I can go out yet do my part of the job then turn it over to them. Bob, the owner, is really a man of detail and they make sure everything gets done to the customer's satisfaction. I have a water damage restoration company so we go in and we do our part and I haven't heard any complaints or any problems in that area, they go in and they basically do everything that the customer wants, that they're able to pick up whatever they need.

It went very well. They brought samples out and if they weren't what we wanted, they made another appointment and brought out what we did like. They gave us a lot of information that we hadn't received from other flooring companies as to how the product help up, the durability, and they also gave suggestions. We were very pleased with them. Their plus was that they are very comparable to others that we checked. Their price was good compared to others.

Excellent. Called A1 as backup bid vs flooring co. realtor recommended for house just purchased. It was last min request - called late aftn for next am appt. The staff booked, so the owner, Bob, showed up to measure for estimate. I went through motions with both companies, e.g., went to store, made selections, and got estimates. I got the feeling from the realtor's guy that he just wanted to sell whatever he had in stock. I also got very bad design advice, so that after I left I just thought no way. A1's designer, Pam, was amazing. She wanted to make sure we were happy with the selection. I told her of lower priced wood floor I got from other guy, she matched it but then came to the house with an even better match that was still in budget. The installer, Mike, is an artist. He took great pride in his work and we have the floors to prove it. At top of stairs there is a semi-circular area in loft - he placed the wood beautifully. As for the carpet or stairs, I had a hard time deciding. Pam worked very hard to help me - she ordered samples, got samples from friends, came to me a few times to show me things until I finally decided. She even corrected my color choice within the pattern I chose and it was a big correction! The work is all done now and both my husband and I are very pleased. I highly recommend A1 if doing flooring and want to feel like you can trust the people you are dealing with - from business, design, and installation.

Their representative came to the condo we were taking care of at the time in Oceanside. I used them because I was told that I would get 10% off. When he wrote up the bid I asked about the 10% off and he told me he already took it off, but it wasn't documented. I didn't care for that, but I used them. They were recommended to me by my real estate agent. The job was good although I question if the 10% occurred or not. It was out of the area for me so I didn't have time to jump around and compare because I only had a limited time to spend there. The carpet was fine, but I just thought it was a strange way of showing the discount. It looked like good carpeting and the job was done well, but it wasn't the right way to do it and I wasn't satisfied with that approach.

Things have been difficult with this company from day 1. They insisted on being paid 50% of the final cost upfront, and then hired subcontractors, without my knowledge or approval, who I could not communicate with to install flooring that was totally contrary to our instructions. They kept insisting that their installer was the best there was, but no mention was made about that person?s terms of employment. There was no indication that the installer, or any of the other people that came into our home, were under any kind of contract, or any kind of insurance that we were privy to. We were not aware that A-1 was only going to facilitate the job, but not actually do the work themselves. The company is now paid in full. The job is complete, and the product is fine but we would have preferred a smoother experience.

Arrived on time, cleaned up very nice afterwards, all seams were correctly and nicely performed. Carpet looked great and installation went smooth. I couldn't ask for a better group of sales people to deal with. Honest, reliable and friendly. Not pushy. I trusted them and appreciated all of their expertise. They helped me pick the type of carpet that I needed and within my price ranges required.

Pam delivered samples to our home twice and was incredibly patient and responsive in ensuring we got the exact color we were looking for. No hard sell, great service, and the installer was prompt and highly experienced. We're very pleased with our floor and wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again.

It really was a smooth installation. My sales person helped me chose the correct floor in my price range and would work in my house with my family. The installers were on time, clean and very polite. They cleaned up every day before they left. My sales person came by daily to inspect the work. They finished on time. I really felt that A-1 took care of me. I was not just another customer.

Bob and his group of subcontractors did a superb job. When this first started I was about as full of misgivings and questions as anyone could possibly have. I have heard too many stories of remodels gone wrong. Bob was extraordinarily patient and explained all that had to be done. Because I had to have surgery two and a half weeks after all this started, he was very conscious of our time restraints and stayed on top of his subs to see that the job was done quickly and right. He met with our insurance adjuster and me when the estimate was done. He was well aware of the budget that we had for the job and worked very hard to make sure we got value for our money. The mold remediation team he used was very through and got the job done very quickly and professionally. The cabinet maker he chose for the rebuilt cabinets did them to our specs and went above and beyond the quality I wanted. He assisted us in selecting the right people to do the counter tops and saw to it that we got the best possible prices. After we were done we had the kitchen we had wanted for years. He was able to get us granite countertops and better build cabinets all within the insurance budget which was just amazing to me. We have a better kitchen than we started with. I would recommend A-1 to anyone who wants an absolutely first class job and a caring contractor who looks after your interests. I would trust Bob in a heart beat with my next project. Thanks very much Bob and team. One final note: Bob was very patient with us when our mortgage company decided that they needed to be involved in approving payments. The insurance company had to add the mortgage company as a payee on the check and they had some really strange rules about cashing the check. It took far to long to get him the money and I was very pleased that he was willing to wait until the bank did their thing. I am not happy with the bank but Bob did not complain about the wait. I am very thankful for his patients.

The gentlemen were very nice, very knowledgeable, and very prompt. They arrived as scheduled, worked quickly, and left the area as clean as they had found it. Overall, it was a very nice experience.

The company was very professional and handled everything in a timely manner.? It was evident that Robert, the contractor with whom I dealt, had my best interests at heart, and he was very helpful with insurance issues.

1. Shopped a few local stores for carpet ideas. 2. Zeroed in on a specific carpet. 3. Went to carpet manufacturer's website, found 4 local companies that were dealers. 4. Price shopped the companies. 5. A1-Factory Direct won on price. Had them install the carpet. The rest of the story involves installation quality. I believe three of the four companies that I contacted could have done a reasonable job. The prices were within a couple of bucks a yard, so feeling good about the installer was more important than price, to a large extent. (We had a bad experience with the last house, good carpet/bad installation.) Bob Chamberlain (A-1 Owner) was able to describe his length of relationship with his installer (15 years), the skill, craftmanship and installation process with enough exhuberance for me to give him the business. His installation team, lead by Mr. Meho (phonetic, not sure of the spelling) arrived at the house exactly on time. They got to work, no fooling around, and coordinated their efforts with the stone masons working in the adjacent rooms. The performed a flawless installation with virtually invisible seams in a large room. The other rooms went smooth, as well. Used a power stretcher and a hot seam taper. Both guys were pleasant, great to work with. The carpet looks fantastic and feels great on a good pad. If you buy from A1, be sure to ask Bob for the "A" team installers. I don't know about his other guys that he works with, but Mr. Meho is a first rate installer of the highest order. We are happy customers!
