I really liked NorthStar and Alex. Very professional. Very prompt and willing to work within my timeline to provide a quote. Also, willing to work with me and listened to my concerns. The quote included storage and full packing. I ended up selecting another vendor - but it was very close.

1st time I've used a moving service where nothing was broken. These guys move lightning fast and a great group of guys as well. Best part about it is no back pain for me. If you're considering a move I would highly recommend contacting Northstar!!

Jason and crew were impressively quick and professional. They arrived early in the morning and promptly got to work. Our house was emptied much faster than we expected, and at the destination they were able to unpack and get us set up very quickly. Jason, Rene, Noe, and Gino went above and beyond and were a pleasure to work with. The estimate provided for Northstar's moving services was not the least expensive, but the estimate is given as a "not to exceed" cost, so we knew that we would not go over. Other companies we received estimates from gave rough estimates. In the end, the total cost ended up much lower than the original estimate.

The moving team was very punctual. The person who also assisting me on the phone was extremely nice and mentioned the discount couple on Angie?s list. I wish I could remember her name, unfortunately I am bad with names, but she even followed up after the move to make sure everything went well with the move. The team was fast and very professional

NorthStar moving arrived on time, took great care of my belongings, and were extremely courteous. I will definitely call them again when I move in the future.

Nemer, Rodelfo, Carlos, and Bruce helped me move my 2 bedroom townhome into 2 storage locations. The whole team was very professional, courteous and worked efficiently! No packing was necessary but they carefully wrapped furniture in shrink wrap. My townhome stairs proved to be no issue for the team!

My parents were VERY, VERY happy with NorthStar Moving Company. John and his team were focused, polite and fast. We'll definitely use in the future and will pass on their name to others.

The cost was very reasonable after deducting the $150 Angie's List discount. There was a 3 hours minimum for 3 movers and a truck for $140 per hours. COST: $420 + 50 Angie's List Payment - 150 Angie's List Discount = $320 for local move that was less than 5 miles. I would definitely use Northstar Moving Co. again. There were only a couple of minor incidents which were quickly resolved. 1) A small desk was broken and they deducted the damaged from the bill. 2) One of the mover stepped in some dog poop which got walked onto my new floors. Luckily, he did not walk on my rug or carpet, so it was easy to wipe-up and clean.

They did what they said. No damage to shipment. Two days late. On delivery which they deducted $50/day from bill to compensate. Billing process was awkward due to number of people I dealt with but all well in the end.

It went well. I had no problems with them.

Nemur, Pedro and Carlos were awesome. Even though it was pouring rain for most of the day and they had to dodge our dog who was supervising the move, they were in good spirits, quick, and totally professional the whole time. We would use them again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend them.

Got a not-to-exceed quote after a detailed walkthrough of the entire house. Very organized and professional. On the day of the move, they showed up on the dot. They worked quickly yet carefully, wrapping everything, handling things gently. The work was a lot more than anticipated but I was covered and they did not charge me more or grumble - just courteous and professional. Alex, Jason and the entire team were just great.

They arrived on time and were very nice/professional. I was very greatful they were able to move us on such short notice.....3-days. Three guys and a truck, with all the wrappings, boxes and tape a girl could ever want. They did a great job! I would recommend them. We have a lot of art work and they handled it all with love. No damages except a few lost screws.... :-)

It was a great experience. They showed up at 8:30 and they finished the move in 3 hrs. The movers were very friendly. The deal was very nice.

The first move turned out fine. They did a decent job. They did try to get us to pay a parking ticket that they received during the move which was odd. We then used them a second time and that move was not very good. They tried to come on the wrong day originally. They also broke out of our flat screen TVs. Since they did not unwrap the TV on the day, we did not see the damage until later and they were unwilling to do anything about it.

Our belongings were already packed and in storage. Northstar arrived on time to pick it up and did a great job loading it on their truck. They delivered it to our new home as scheduled and did a great job parking the truck in a tight area and unloading and placing the furniture. Northstar employees from the schedulers, driver, and the moving crew were courteous, helpful, and competent. The driver and the crew went above and beyond helping us on the delivering end. We highly recommend Northstar and would use them again.

Movers were great, very careful with all of my furniture and belongings. Moved 2 different houses plus a storage unit into one house, and they still got everything done on time and efficiently. I had forgotten to give them the coupon I purchased on Angie's List, and I called the office the next day and they still honored it (refunded me the $150). Perfect in every way!

NorthStar moving company made our move as smooth as a move can be. They were on time, worked hard and fast, everything arrived in one piece and the cost estimate was accurate. Not sure what else you could ask for!

I called the company to get an estimate for a move as well as some furniture storage. The person who answered the phone gave me some general idea and scheduled a site visit by someone from the company to provide an estimate for the day after. The following day the representative ( Michael) arrived promptly on time and performed a thorough review of the furniture, boxes etc for both the move and the storage. Within 24 hours he sent his estimate. We were very impressed by their professionalism and response so we selected them although we had other estimates in the similar ballpark. The day of the move the movers arrived promptly at 8AM although they had given a window of 8 to 9:00. Tim and his crew who did the packing and the move were very professional and efficient. They did a fantastic job of packing everything and moving faster than expected. I would use this company again.

The move went very fast. These guys were very professional and efficient. They arrived on time and went to work right away. I was dealing with a troublesome back (that eventually required surgery), so it was a great relief to get this last move done so efficiently.

The movers arrived right on time...worked quickly and completed the work under budget and on time!

This was the first time using a mover so i didn't know what to expect. The supplies were expensive, so i was glad to have my stuff already boxed up. It took a longer than i expected taking the bed apart and getting the last of it packed up. Because of that i had to rush the unload and throw everything in a room so i could return to work. Costs were a little higher than expected.

This is the 2nd time we used Northstar. The 1st time was back in May 2013, that was a very small move mostly 1 bedroom worth of furniture. We clear out our house earlier and the move was super quick. The new location was less than 5miles away (the total time was less than 3hrs), but since there was a 4hrs minimum we paid for the full 4hrs anyway. Good thing we used Angie list coupon. The Dec 27 2013 move was more involve. I called to schedule on12/23 hope to get anything before the New Year. Jessica was able to find us the last open spot on 12/27. Since we just moved early in the year, they honor the old hourly rate (it went up like 30$/hr!!!). They helped us with furniture, stereos, big TV, boxing up loose items (kitchen, toys shoes etc...) and clothing. The truck called us before they left the office (in Hayward) to give us an estimate time (to south San Jose) and arrived on time (8:15AM). We were very disorganized this time like we "forgot" to ask for the wardrobe boxes until almost all the furniture was loaded onto the truck already. According to Jason (the leader), we had 11boxes!!! They quickly helped us pack the closet up and double check for us in all rooms if we are missing anything. One disappointing thing: they folded our mattress!!! I caught them and I told them they damage the spring inside, is there other way of moving the mattress. They offer to package it up with cardboard boxes (yes, the box cost like 30$). I gladly pay for them, if they have ask me before they folded and tapped the mattress together. That really get me upset!! The first stopped was the condo. They helped set up the dinning table (add the leaf in the middle & place the glass on top) & moved all the boxes to the correct room (l labeled them with different color post-it) . I quickly unload the 11 wardrobe boxes and didn't get charge for "borrowing" them. The 2nd stop was the storage unit down the road. When we got to the place there was other people blocking the exit & gate. Jason told me they have another job in Mountain view afterward but his men still work very carefully and patiently around the other blockage people. They nicely line up boxing and items in our storage unit for us so we can access them easier. It was a full 7hrs work. Later that night, my husband pointed out there was a missing piece of glass in the stereo cabinet. I sent an e-mail to Jessica and didn't hear back until 12/30. She didn't know about the glass and she contacted the dispatch right away. They were able to located the glass in one of their truck and Jason drop it off at our front door (we weren't at home). He carefully propped it up with our doormat & flower pot to make sure it will not break. Very happy with Northstar and will gladly recommend them to any one and use them again any time. One praise: Jason point out to us about a yelp deal ($60 for 90$) and we were about to saved $50 for our 2nd move! One complain: the 2nd move the crews didn't wear any plastic covering on their shoes while the 1st move crews were putting them on before we even mention anything.
