SAN JOSE PLUMBING

When I called to inquire about rates and scheduling, the receptionist let me know that Saturday appointments were available, which meant I wouldn't have to juggle my work schedule. On the morning of the appointment, the plumber called to let me know he was on his way. After inspecting the faucet, he went right to work and replaced the washers in a few minutes, after persuading the stubborn faucet handle to come off. And he had the right washers with him. I hadn't seen washers like that before, more like a plug than the common ring type.

It's Sun. night at 9 pm. The dishwasher is on and I am putting garbage down the disposal. My wife yells "Turn off the dishwasher and come in the garage!" I do that and find her standing in water coming from the clothes washer drain pipe. It's Sunday night, I can't clean all of the dirty dishes in the kitchen, and I can't take off from work on Monday. What am I to do? I'm guessing it will be 3 am or later and mucho $$ before I see the sack. I signed up on Angie's List and found San Jose Plumbing with a stellar record. I placed the call at 10 pm, and the dispatcher said she could have someone there between 10:30 and 12:30. Caesar arrived at 10:45. He thought my clean out under the sink would dirty my kitchen, so he elected to snake it from the roof vent. With ladder and head light he climbs to the roof and does his magic. We turn on all the taps, dishwasher and clothes washer and everything is fine. Caesar was prompt, courteous, quick and efficient. I will call SJP for my next job.

They gave me a discount since I told them that I found them through Angie's List. There was one person doing the work and he did show up on time. The rate that they charged me was very good.

The work was done as scheduled by a team of professional plumbers. They did as they said they would do as well as fixing a leaky toilet. When the work was completed you would not know the walls, ceiling, or bathroom tile had been disturbed. They did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves each day. The work passed San Jose City inspection without a hitch and the inspector was thorough. The water pressure is awesome and the water looks clean. I am so glad I had this work done by San Jose Plumbing!

San Jose plumbing did a good job fixing the problem I had in my home. They were courteous with the service they provided and it did not take them very long to get the task done.

I called them the day before and they made an appointment for between 2 PM and 3 PM. At 1:45 PM, I got a call from Caesar and said he was on his way to my condo. I met him and he started in the kitchen and showed me what was wrong and replaced the wrong fittings I had tried to do alone under sink. I asked him to check my work on garbage disposal and he looked at it and adjusted it. He then went to the master bath and basically did the same thing there. He had to go to a supply store and get a replacement elbow for my undermount. He saved me money and took old one that did fit in other bathroom from master bath and replaced it under there. He showed me everything he did, explained it all to me and also gave me a 30 day warranty on all parts and labor. He took my $10 Angie s List coupon and converted it to a 10% coupon that saved me about $17.00 and he took a check and gave me a receipt and was extremely nice and knowledgeable.

We called this company and they came right out the same day. They knew just what was wrong with the machine and told us it would be around $300 for the part and about $200 for the labor. We thought that this was a little steep in price to fix the old unit so he looked at it again and found that he could temporarily patch it up somehow to continue working. He has done so and informed us that this was only a temporary fix and that we should either replace the part or look into buying another washer in the future. We were very pleased with his honesty, his know how and will recommend him to our friends.

They did find the problem for me but they wanted to come back out to my house to clean out the sewer pipe and they were going to charge way too much for that. So I just ended up having the city do it for free. Their overall services with me were pretty good.

As far as quality of work, he did a pretty good job and was on time. He got the problem solved rather fast. The only issue we had was over the charges. He told me that he would charge me $100 per hour but when he was done, the charges ended up being a lot higher then I expected. He charged me for 8 hours of work and he was only here for two.

I had water to the house turned off for some sprinkler repair when I broke off the hose bib. I couldn't turn water to the house back on until this was repaired. I called and reached a service who said someone would return my call around 7:30 the next morning. I received a call promptly at 7:30, but by that time I had found a plumber who was coming at 8:30 so I didn't need their help.

From the initial phone call everyone was courteous, professional, and on time. Knowing that I was doing a mini remodel, the plumber took care in ensuring that the broken pipe was repaired with no damage to surrounding tile, and not to scratch any other fixtures while removing them. They performed an excellent job at a reasonable price.

He arrived on time. Was very courteous. Did a neat and professional job. Left me happy because I didn't have to do the dirty work of crawling under the sink.

We realized we had a leak on Thursday, and called two plumbers for an estimate. The other company (Quality Water) came more quickly, but managed to miss us even though we were home. They sent an estimate by email without talking to us. We called later to ask some questions. San Jose didn't come as quickly, but we were able to talk over our options with the plumber, so we felt more confident with him. He gave us recommendations and had various alternative suggestions to work within our budget. He came when he said he would and finished the work the same day. He was very professional.

When Steven called me back he joked that he hadn't called me on Friday because the receptionist broke his phone. Then he was not very clear on remembering the details of my job. He asked me if he had my email address, and I told him, yes, I had written it down for him while he was here. He asked for it again and said he would get that out to me. The quote was emailed to me the next morning. In total, four weeks and three business days to get a quote, with me having to chase it. I did not go with this company because, although their eventual quote was a competitive one and I actually liked Steven and felt we could work with him, I did not appreciate his responsiveness or professionalism. He blamed the delay on him thinking someone else was going to "follow up" while he was out of town; except that there were two full weeks before he told me he was to go out of town, and he even implied he'd like to get the work done by then. Clearly the ball was dropped.

Definitely a bad experience. We made special arrangements to have my father in-law there to let in the plumber and yet nothing was accomplished and the plumber did not have the courtesy to call us for the needed info. This was my first experience using Angie's List and it was not encouraging.

I called early on a Monday Morning. The scheduler at San Jose plumbing was pleasant but over promised, she said someone would be out that afternoon. She called back at about 2PM to let me know that they were swamped "because of the rain" and someone would be out Tues from 2-4. I received no call on Tues and they did arrive before 4pm. Once Mr. Garza was here, things went smoothly. He rebuilt the toilet and was quick and clean. One week later still no problems. He also researched where to find a replacement for some hard to find faucet stems that need to be replaced. He did the research and called back with information. He did the follow through. I have yet to schedule the return visit for them to repair the knocking pipes but I do plan to use them for the job.

I called Monday morning and got an evening appointment on the following Wednesday. Kevin the owner came in, sawed off the bad part of the pipe under the sink, snaked the tub twice, even snaked the bathroom sink, then replaced the pipe under the sink. No drips, and water draining great. He gave me a fair price from the beginning and left the bathroom as clean as he found it. He was a very nice guy and was very professional. I would do business with them again.

Steve was going to be a bit late, so he called me before the appointed time. He was very personable, tidy, and thorough. I watched the process which he welcomed. I will use this company again.

San Jose Plumbing was EXCELLENT - showed up on time, called to tell me they were coming, did excellent work, for a very reasonable price, and Adam gave me some advice on how to cost-effectively fix a shower handle - I highly recommend, will definitely use them for all plumbing needs in the future.

We are renters, got a bottle flushed down a toilet, they came out quickly, took off the toilet and after three different attempts, got it out intact. They were prompt, professional, courteous, and even provided an accurate assessment over the phone, which other companies were unable to do.

They were excellent. The plumber was very professional and quickly fixed the problems. He was very conscientious and paid attention to details. We would definitely use their service again!

The company was on time and very polite and efficient.

He arrived exactly on time. He is very professional and competent. He has a huge truck with MANY parts on board. For example, I actually broke the handle of the faucet in the shower when I tried to get the leak to stop. He found an almost perfect match on his truck. He had all the other parts needed for the repair right there also. He quickly installed the new kitchen faucet and then crawled under the house to find the source of the leak - a job I would HATE to do. It was the refrigerator that was leaking. When he found the leak was internal to the refrigerator and that he could not repair it, he turned off the water to the refrigerator so we would not get any more damage. When he left, everything was cleaned up and ready to use. He is a very gracious man and I will ONLY call him for all future plumbing work at our house. He charges $95/hour and the parts he used were less than $10 and so for the 2 hour job (he actually put in 2:15) the total bill was only $200.

We called to schedule an estimate and were contacted for scheduling within a few hours. One of their plumbers (Adam) came out and provided a free estimate for the following week. We accepted the estimate and had the work done roughly two weeks from the date of the estimate. He showed up a little late the first day but was otherwise very professional. He minimized the amount of wall that needed to be cut for the plumbing and had to work around an unexpected issue with our walls. Because of the problems he had to come back a second day and, despite the extra trouble, the final price was within $50 of the estimate. The work passed city inspection and appears to be well done. He was also patient with my toddler son who always wants to get into things.

San Jose plumbing was capable and friendly throughout this job. They showed up when they said they would and had the job completed in an adequate amount of time. They made an effort to clean up the mess (the job required drilling through cabinetry).
