SAN JOSE PLUMBING

This was a big job. The water line was broken by a huge (let me repeat: HUGE) camphor tree, and the meter and box displaced. We had three estimates -- one was for considerably less, but the estimator spent too little time and showed no understanding of the challenges; the other contractor would only bid "time and materials" (at least he understood the challenges). San Jose Plumbing, once we decided, immediately scheduled work for the following day (a Saturday). They had five workers at the appointed time. It took all day, but the supervisor was determined to complete the work in one day. He went out several times for additional needed resources -- new chainsaw, root grinder (that finally made the difference), etc. We had to leave in the early evening for an engagement, and there was still much to be done. I was pessimistic that it would be completed that day. But upon our return late that night, the pipe was in, the water was working, the box and meter relocated properly, the trench filled in, a brick path that was dug up was relaid, and all was well. In addition to the work discussed, they changed the configuration of the shutoff valves so that my front irrigation system can be on while the house is shut off (for example, while traveling). Everything has worked beautifully, and we are satisfied.

Job was well done and plumber was professional.

They were great because they were friendly and they came out on time. They called to see if they could come a little earlier because they were running ahead of schedule. It was great.

They were professional and on time. They made suggestions for upgrades that were wise to do at the time because it saved us money. I am very happy with their work.

After a kitchen and bath remodeling project, I need a plumber to reconnect the faucets and pipes because my remodeling contractor didn't want to do any plumbing. I had used this plumber once before and decided to call them for an estimate. I showed them the kitchen and baths and explained what my contractor had said needed to be done. The estimator recommended that I also consider replacing the disposal at this time too because the old gasket on the old disposal might not seal properly anymore. Their overall estimate was about what I expected and turned out to be significantly lower than another estimate I got later that day. So I had them come back and complete the work after the remodeling contractor was gone. There have been no problems with the work that was done.

They were on time to do the work asked of them. They were professional while they worked. I would use them in the future. The quality of their work was good. I would recommend them. They were courteous and kind.

In the initial evaluation he said that the kitchen faucet would take less time and the bathroom faucets would take more time. In the end, he took 2 hrs in the kitchen and an hour each per bathroom faucet. The kitchen faucet had rusted, so he need to saw through the bolts. At the end, he gave a 10% discount based on Angie's List reference.

They arrived on time and began work immediately. They were careful to lay down tarps so as to contain any spills. The job itself went on for about an hour or so as they had to snake the drain out about 50 feet to find the obstruction. After that they carefully removed all their equipment and cleaned up the bathroom. They did a very professional job.

I called Kevin and scheduled for him to come anytime between 1 and 3. He called at 1:30 and was at my place by 2. He was extremely professional and was willing to explain what he was doing and why. He completed the job efficiently and didn't leave a mess behind. He charges by the hour and had about 20-25 minutes of the hour left. So, we requested he fix our leaking shower fixture which he did, but this resulted in him spending close to an additional 40 minutes. The work was professional, but ended up being rather expensive (of course, the parts were extra, so it was 90 minutes + parts = $175). Will I recommend him? Absolutely, simply because there were no hassles. But will I look around for a cheaper option - maybe.

Excellent. Kevin Garza (the company owner) came out himself and spent several hours working on many issues that had been concerning me for some time. He worked diligently, diagnosing each problem and providing a permanent solution. He also agreed to stay and install the icemaker line, although that was not the original reason for my call. He referred me to another company for the repair of three Grohe shower fixtures that were problematic and required the specific skills of a Grohe plumber.

What a nice guy!! The woman who took the initial info was very nice, set the time for 1 to 3 pm. He called before one and said he would be there at one and he was. Everything was fixed and he actually left the bathroom cleaner than it was prior to his arrival. He never even swore (unlike my friend)! He also bought CLR and left it with me. I believe his name was Tim.

The service was great! The plumber arrived at the scheduled time window, was efficient and replaced all parts that failed. He was courteous and I thought the price was reasonable for the work performed.

We called San Jose Plumbing after failed attempts at fixing our leaky shower ourselves. Our house is 60 years old and we weren't able to find parts that we needed or get to the stems in order to replace them. The plumber came out about an hour after I called and started work right away. He was able to get the old parts out, but had to go to a specialty store to find new ones. He also had to make a trip to Home Depot for the outdoor fixtures and did this on his own time. The shower leak was repaired and he left very little mess. It's been hard to find a good plumber. This guy was good, knowledgeable, and friendly.

This guy came out the same day and did a great job. He worked efficiently, didn't ding anything up or leave any mess, and didn't charge all that much for the work.

I had a leak under the kitchen sink and called SJ Plumbing. They set an appointment for the next day, but called a few hours later to say they had an opening and could come in half an hour, which I accepted. They showed up on time and were able to identify and repair the leak. They left the work area clean and were very friendly and professional. I will not hesitate to call them the next time I need a plumber.

The whole experience was very nice from start to finish. I called in the morning and they scheduled someone to come out that afternoon between 3 and 5. At 3:15, I got a call from their office telling me that their technician was on his way. He arrived about 15 minutes later, was extremely professional, fixed my drain, replaced a valve in our toilet, and answered all my questions so that I could understand it. I knew immediately I was in good, professional hands and felt great about the whole experience.

I had a really good initial impression when I called--the receptionist was very professional and courteous, and they were available within a few hours. The plumber was on time but was not very professional--he didn't even introduce himself, just walked past me through the door and didn't bring any tools in to assess the situation. First he tried all the same things I had tried, to no avail, then he went to get his tools. In the end, he used one of MY tools to work on the drains, and claimed to have fixed the toilet (although he emphasized that "toilet clog repairs are not guaranteed"). The drains were fine, but I had to use the plunger the very next time I flushed the toilet. Trust me, there was nothing in there that should have clogged it in the first place or after the repair. The fact that it didn't even make it through ONE flush was maddening. I had high expectations based on their ratings, but definitely would not recommend them.

The serviceman arrived at the promised time and completed the job successfully in a short time. He had the proper tools and used them with expertise.

Our shower tub valve broke and was gushing water, so we had another plumber come and try to fix it. He stopped the immediate flood, but damaged the plumbing and then couldn't fix it. So we had a leak through the handle whenever we turned on the water. We looked on Angie's List and called San Jose plumbing. We're very glad we did! One of their plumbers came out the next day. After looking at the problem, he decided that Kevin (the owner of San Jose Plumbing) needed to come out to do the work. Kevin came right away. I think he could have just replaced all the plumbing behind the shower handle (costing us a lot of money), but instead spent a couple hours working on it and was able to fix it with minimal parts. I don't know anything about plumbing but I think he saved us a lot. From what the previous plumber had told us, I was expecting to pay a lot more!

I called and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day between 1 and 3pm. At noon, SJP called and asked if it was OK if they arrived early. I said yes. The worker, Tim C., arrived. He was courteous and professional. I showed him the two jobs and in about 40 minutes (I didn't time it) he finished the work, cleaned up after himself and explained what he did.

I called at 3:30 PM during a weekday, told the very professional lady who answered the phone my leaking problem. We scheduled it for 4:30 PM the same day and Kevin showed up promptly and did the work. This work was done without a mess or water getting all over the place. This was the best plumbing experience I have ever had. This is the only plumber I am going to use in the future.

I had had Caesar clear a clog from the same plumbing, several months ago, and was happy with his work. When I started smelling the same rancid smell I had then, when using the washer, I called San Jose Plumbing. I was told I could have someone out the same day and she would try to send Caesar out again if possible. Caesar called 10 minutes before arriving (within the 2 hr window) and when he showed up he clearly remembered me and the house from his last visit. He was very friendly, thorough and quick, and was patient when answering my many questions. I felt that he was very honest and not the kind of guy who would do unnecessary or substandard work and overcharge for it, which would have been easy to do in this situation. I was happy with his work and would use him again in the future.

The shower head was old and when the direction of flow was adjusted, the threads holding it in place simply unwound like thread coming off a spool. We opened the wall to gain access, but then realized we needed an expert. We called on the weekend with a non-emergency request for service and did not hear back. A second call during the week was answered promptly and the appointment was arranged. San Jose plumbing was able to refit the existing shower head to the pipe. We did not have them close up the wall. While the plumber was here, we had them replace a faucet in a bathroom sink with one wed bought some time ago, but never installed. Now we have a working shower again and a sink faucet that works easily and looks great. In addition we had some of the pipes under the sink replaced as they were old. San Jose Plumbing did a great job. Wed definitely have them back.

They were there until the problem got fixed. They were very responsive.
