The technician showed up right on time, was very courteous and professional. It wasn't a complicated job and he finished in just over an hour. Everything went smoothly.

We noticed our floors buckling in the kitchen, but it took a while before we realized our water heater had been leaking over several days. We figured that out at 5pm and by 5:45pm, Angelo from San Jose Plumbing was at our house and quickly and efficiently disabled the water heater, drained it and disconnected it so that a new one could be installed the next day. Angelo called the next morning to set up the time and went and purchased the appliance. He then spent over 2 hours installing it, putting in a new gas shut off valve, and testing the new water heater out. Angelo was wonderful - very professional and capable. He even gave us a break on the water heater and did not mark it up since we had to spend the extra money with an after-hours emergency call the day before. We were very pleased and will definitely use SJ Plumbing again.

San Jose Plumbing came with only a couple of hours notice. I was frustrated because another plumber had not shown up to repair our problem and decided to call another company. Angelo arrived a couple of minutes early for an 11a-1pm window. He was polite and professional, and seemed very knowledgeable. He immediately got to work to fix the shower, explaining that this fix only works in 70% of the time, due to the plumbing inside the shower being old. He also explained that if it doesn't work for us, we will have to replace the fiberglass shower/tub unit, as the fiberglass will need to be cut to get to the internal plumbing of the shower. This was something I already knew from other plumbers who had come to repair in the past. He turned the water off and repaired the shower. When done, it still had a trickle leak, but he explained that it may improve in a couple of days as the washer conforms to the shape of the stem. It's a big improvement over what we had before. He also fixed our toilet and looked at a couple of other problems. He recommended against trying to replace the drain (which is a different color from the faucet) because to do that could very well cause a leak, since the sink is extremely old and rusty. He suggested waiting until we're ready to replace the sink before dealing with the drain. Overall, I felt Angelo was competent, polite, professional and very trustworthy.

They arrived on time, did a great job and gave good advice.

Their workers were very friendly people. They arrived promptly and did their work. They were a little more expensive than I expected. Overall, I am satisfied with their service.

Very pleasant lady who answered phone gave upfront job estimate (hourly rate with minimum 1 hour charge + equipment usage). She also provided an estimated time window for availability. Worker arrived about 1 hour before the end of the window. He was friendly and efficient. Unlike many plumbers, he asked several clarifying questions before starting the work to ensure he was approaching problem correctly. Finished the job in about 30 minutes. Very pleased.

I called at 5:05 and didn't think anyone would answer the phone, but someone did. She got my info and said she she needed to check to see if she could get someone out to my place that evening. She said she would call me right back, and she did within 5 minutes. Someone was coming out between 7-8 pm. I was thrilled, since I was afraid my water heater was going to blow. The guys showed up, were friendly and quickly fixed the problem.

It went very quick. He was very courteous and did not overcharge us.

They found a bad thermocouple in a fairly new water heater, only 3 years old. There were two guys and they said the thermocouple was bad and had to go pick one up and come back. I watched and they had some trouble replacing it, as the water heater is so new that they had not had to change the part on this model before. I lent them a special pair of needle nose pliers with about an 80 degree bend to change the thermocouple. Everything worked when they were done and I have used them before and called them back for this job and would use them again.

I recently purchased an older home and the sewer line was original to the house. Within 2 months of moving in the sewer line collapsed. I called San Jose Plumbing and they sent Caesar out the next day. He determined that the sewer line was broken and provided an estimate for the repair. Caesar was on time and very professional. He made sure that I was aware of their progress. When it started raining it delayed the sewer line installation and they reimbursed me for the cost of the hotel. I could not be happier with these guys, they are terrific! Caesar deserves a raise!

It was a good experience. They came when they said they would and it didn't cost much. Overall it turned out fine and I would recommend them to others.

For the first job, my pressure assisted toilet sprung a leak and was shooting water out the top. I found San Jose Plumbing on Angie's list and contacted them for repair. The plumber came out right on time, identified the problem and type of toilet (not a standard brand). He was able to find someone who had the replacement mechanism in stock, went and got it, and installed it. I was very happy with the service. The next time I called them, it was for a Price Pfister kitchen faucet that was leaking from the handle. The plumber came, and didn't seem to know exactly what the problem was. He took it apart, wiped it off, put it back together and charged $100 for the service call. The faucet still leaked, so I researched on the web what the problem was and ordered the correct part. I called SJ Plumbing back (since I couldn't get the faucet apart myself), and paid another $100 to have him install the new part. I shouldn't have had to pay two service call charges when the plumber didn't fix the problem the first time. The first time he was out he didn't actually do anything except wipe the parts out. Since Price Pfister is a fairly common brand and I was able to quickly determine myself what the problem part was, it shouldn't have been that difficult to diagnose for a professional plumber.

We had San Jose Plumbing do preventative maintenance on our main sewer line. Our call was answered very professionally and several two hour blocks of time were offered. After choosing a time most convenient for us, we were told that we would receive a call prior to the plumber arriving at our door. As promised, we received the call and Adam (plumber) arrived punctually and snaked out the sewer. Adam was courteous, knowledgeable, and provided outstanding service. We received the senior discount and the bill was exactly as described over the phone. There were no surprises. We highly recommend this company and would use them without reservation in the future.

I was provided a quote over the phone and a 2 hour window for two days later. The tech called within the allotted time to insure someone would be home (bonus points!). They showed up and immediately confirmed my diagnosis and set up their equipment. They completed the entire job in an hour and charged me the minimum (one hour) and a small equipment use charge of $25. They went the extra mile and hooked up my washer to insure the drain was fully clear. Once we were happy, I paid with credit card and was provided with a 30 day guarantee. Also left the site clean. A do-it-myself job went not so well, so we called a few places to have someone come out and finish the work. San Jose Plumbing was able to get someone right out (one place called me back 5 hours after my original call, another was very courteous but was only able to schedule me for 2 days out). I needed the refrigerator hooked up to an existing line which needed to be repaired. I would have also liked to have a shut off valve added, but they did not have the part for this so I decided to forgo the valve since it would have meant them taking a trip to the store for the part. They did spend the time to try to fix a faulty valve that was here, but to no avail. The refrigerator line was hooked up with the part they did have on hand, and this was done quickly and effectively and the techs were great. I would definitely use this company again.

It was a great experience. We'd had another plumber sent out by our home warranty company who couldn't find the clean-out valve and had no useful suggestions for fixing the problem. San Jose plumbing sent out two guys who were helpful and enthusiastic (and really funny). They ran through the options if we couldn't find the clean-out, but they traced the sewer line back from the street and were able to locate it buried a bit under the surface. They sprang into action and augured out a big clump of roots, fixing our drainage problems.

Worker always on time. Presentation clean and courteous. Clean work habits. Neat, orderly placement of plumbing lines. High quality parts used. Estimate on target with charges which were very reasonable. 5 STARS for this company.

I called in the morning and spoke with a very helpful person, who booked an appt. for me later the same day. The plumber actually called me around lunch time to say that he could be here early, which was terrific. The work was done in under 90 minutes and the end result is great. He emphasized their 30-day guarantee.

Caesar the service technician was very organized. He worked fast, the job was done in the 2 hours he had estimated.

They were very good, they showed up when they said they would, they were very professional, they did the work fairly quickly, I felt that their prices were competitive. I was really good that they kept the construction minimal.

Called San Jose plumbing when our toilets started backing up and overflowing. I called in and spoke with a very articulate dispatcher. After getting my description of the problem, she put me on hold for a couple of minutes. Then she came back and said there was a team headed to a job right near my house that she was diverting. They literally got there five minutes after I hung up. The crew that showed up was polite and professional. They advised that sooner or later I would need to put a clean out valve in out by the street (approximately a 2k job) but said it could likely wait until we see how long the clean out job lasted. This is in contrast to the last plumber I had out (2 years ago) who also recommended the clean out but who put on a hard sell to do it immediately or face big consequences. The previous plumber also charged me about $50 more for the same job, so overall I was very satisfied with San Jose plumbing and plan to use them again.

The plumber, however, would not repair the inside shower faucet leak. It wasn't his speciality. He did call the office and they in turn arranged for another plumber to come out as soon as possible. This turned out to be 2 days later which was on a Saturday. There was no premium charge for weekend work.

They were good. They showed up on time most the time. One day I had to call them to see if they were coming over to do the work. They were very courteous when they were there working.

The guy was right on time. He charged the price he quoted. The job was bigger than I thought it was going to be but he did a great job. I have used them before and will use them again.

Excellent. I called for an estimate and they responded quickly. The personnel on the phone was courteous and prompt. The president of the company came and did the estimate himself.
