I really appreciated the service I received. The plumber, Cesar, was pleasant, professional, and worked diligently and quickly. I had cleared a work area at each sink and laid out the parts I needed replaced, but I thought sure he would require close to two hours to accomplish all the work; he did it all in just under one hour. I asked for and received at 10% senior discount. At this company you're encouraged to ask for a specific plumber by name, and I suggest you ask for Cesar. I was most impressed by his service and especially how quickly and efficiently he worked. He even cleaned up after himself. I would have no qualms using his services again; he clearly knew what he was doing.
Description of Work: Plumber fixed three leaking faucets, replacing the cores and seats and springs in two of them and a ball/seats and springs in a third. He also unclogged a bath sink drain.

We had undertaken a kitchen remodeling job. They did some plumbing in the wall to relocate a sink. They came when they said they would come. They did what they were supposed to. They charged me what they basically said it would cost. I did not have any fundamental problems with the work. They did a good job to ensure that there are no leaks over a period of time. Plumbers are always considered to be expensive and nobody likes to pay them but there is no alternative. I am assuming the price was reasonable.

Very good. Fixed it within 30 minutes. Angelo was very professional and friendly. We'd use him again.

The man who came out to help me was very professional and thorough. He also spent a lot of time explaining the problem to me, and what he was doing to fix it. I also appreciate that they called me 15 minutes before they were going to arrive so I could come home from work instead of having me sit at home for a huge window of time. I didn't get other quotes on the job, so don't know exactly how they compare to other companies but the price seemed in-line with what i have heard people charge for the same service. They also gave me a 10% discount for being an Angie's List member.

The engineer that came out was very prompt and polite. We had left a chopping board in the wrong part of the dishwasher. Given the heat and vibration on the cycle that flexible cutting board got stuck against a vent where pressure built up. We were grateful for his expertise for coming across a fairly unusual condition. It could have cost us a lot of money. The second project he installed three separate toilets. We liked him so much we requested him by name. He worked extremely hard, was polite, kept a clean workspace and came across a few installation problems. We can't say nice enough things about them.
Description of Work: There were two separate projects actually. They discovered and fixed a fault on our dishwasher. It was very obscure and creatively solved problem. We were having flooding with a new dishwasher.

We needed a trusted and professional plumber for my mother-in-law since we do not live near. Jason from San Jose Plumbing was just that. The appointment was set up over the phone for a day that we would be visiting. They called before the appointment and arrived on time. The outstanding work for the repairs was performed in a clean and courteous manner. Needing a second day to complete extra work, Jason was able to return the next day so we could be there. Everyone from the person who answered the phone to the individual who came to do the work was excellent. My mother-in-law felt so comfortable with them that she has kept their number on her refrigerator.
Description of Work: Pulled toilet and installed new bolts, wax, seal and reset toilet. Caulked around base of toilet and installed new seat and flapper. Installed new pop-up in bath lavy and new tub spout. Installed new garbage disposal and basket strainer.

I called San Jose Plumbing after I had noticed water pooling under the sink and discovered that there was a hole in the old (approx. 60 yrs) metal pipe. They told me someone could come out this morning. He was here in about 45 minutes. He did a very quick, professional job, was pleasant and courteous. They charged less than I was expecting.

San Jose Plumbing responded to my request for an estimate to repair a leaking shower valve. It was the only company, among the several that I called, that agreed to give me an estimate - despite the fact that almost all the companies I called stated on their pages on Angie's List that they gave free estimates. Apparently my job was not big enough for an estimate. An appointment was scheduled for Noon to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, 6/23. At 11:30AM, Cesar, the technician, called to say that he was on his way. He arrived shortly before noon. He very quickly and clearly gave me an estimate for repairing the valve. At which time I asked him to replace the cartridge in the other bathroom. He added the cost of the additional cartridge, and no increase in labor since both replacements could be done in the time of a minimum one-hour job. He gave me a senior discount for labor. He said he could do the job immediately. I asked him to do so. He then went out to get the parts and complete the job. For the entire job I found Cesar to be a pleasant person who spoke clearly about the work. He always showed respect and consideration for my age and vulnerability. I enjoyed his conversation about himself and his family. I felt comfortable and safe and found, at the completion of the job, that my trust in him was entirely justified.

Very good job. We started with some confusion regarding the type of water heater I requested vs what Kevin brought, but he patiently explained his choice did meet my request. Then he explained that the job was under quoted as the plumber to whom I talked did not know water heater prices went up $150 due to new county regulations, but he said he would honor the quote. (why did I need to know his problems?) Then the job had some unexpected complications and at the end of the job he asked me to pay what I thought was fair (interesting approach).

Thank you to previous Angie's List members for their reviews of this company. The first review I read said that the lady who answered the phone was very friendly (and given an unpleasant encounter with a painter last week) my husband wanted a good experience. We were told someone would be out between 2pm-4pm and sure enough that is exactly when Angelo arrived. Angelo was professional and got right to work, and worked consistently for the entire time he was here. He chatted with my husband and explained what he was doing. Angelo ended up having to snake our two clean out points a total of 7 times. He did manage to dislodge various items. After going 100 ft and realizing that our sewer line is only 70 ft long it became very clear it is a San Jose City problem. We have placed a call to them and have our fingers crossed that they are as responsive and pleasant as Angelo - and that they can fix the problem.

Very well. The plumber was able to fix the pipe without having to open the wall to reach it and he completed all the repairs we needed in under an hour. When he turned on the water again he saw another leak in a coupling near one of his repairs. He spent another 30 minutes repairing this leak for no charge because he felt his working on the pipes had caused the new leak.
Description of Work: We called San Jose Plumbing to get repairs on a broken pipe for an outside fawcet. We had already attempted our own repairs, hence the broken pipe. We had several other leaking valves for outside water that we could not repair due to a leaky valve on the main water cutoff to the house.

Our house plumbing is a mess due to a hodge-podge of work that's been done in our past. We selected San Jose Plumbing based on the list. Jason - a real pro - came to the house, went through the to-do list, helped us update the list based on conditions in one of the bathrooms (we could not see underlying condition of the basin - he showed us real issue - it was rusted through), then Jason went to work. He was quiet, clean, courteous, and fast. He cleaned each work area to better than it was before he started. Jason fixed the shutoff valves, then repaired the kitchen faucet, the leaks in the faucet, and installed the disposal. He also reengineered the water flow and drain flow under the sink so IT MAKES SENSE. (I am an engineer - and have to respect his work!) He gave us detailed information needed to get the downstairs bathroom sink repaired - when we will have San Jose Plumbing and Jason again do the work. He also helped us work out the sequence for the work we need to do at the house.
Description of Work: Repair leaks in kitchen sink drains, install new kitchen faucet, install new disposal, repair drain under kitchen sink, repair shutoff valves. This includes sorting out a number of convoluted effects of projects to repair under the sink (ice maker, previous dishwasher installs, previous leak 'repairs').

I called this company because of its "A" rating on the List, and its "Diamond Certification." Called Monday, but couldn't get them until Wednesday. I was told, "We charge only for the time we are there doing the work, and for materials. There is no charge for showing up." I started a timer running when he got to the porch. At one hour and forty minutes, he went to write up the invoice for the first day. Before he went, I asked about the coupon. He suggested I use it against tomorrow's job. I figured an hour and forty-five minutes should be $201.25 in labor. But he came back six minutes later with charges for the 2 full hours saying, "charges include the time to fill out the paperwork, and we charge in 15 minute intervals." In addition, there was a $25 "equipment charge" I'd never heard of before. Rather than my estimate of slightly over $200, the charge was $255. I paid it because he'd done a decent job cleaning the drain and because I wanted the bath fixtures installed next day. We set the appt. time for 9:15-9:30AM. He showed up at 9:38, but the first thing he said was, "I'm charging you from 9:30 because I had to go pick up some stuff." I had opened the wallboard in the closet behind the tub myself. After sawing out the old manifold and pipes, he installed the new material. But after he finished putting them in, he suggested that I do the caulking myself, after first cleaning the soap scum off the tile. The cold and hot and shower handles are okay, but the caulking will have to fill in the chip that he made, otherwise water will leak into the wall. The tub spout he put in is not the one I bought, but one that looks nearly the same, from his truck. He wanted to use it because it would save him having to put a nipple on the copper pipe he'd put through the wall. As a result of doing it sloppily, the escutcheon is not firmly in place against the tile. Inside the wall, the copper piping connecting the risers to the manifold looks like the body of a trumpet, going up, and over, and then down, and then back over, and then up again. By the time he was finished, I just wanted him gone, and I suspect he felt the same. The final charge for the second day was $490, and I never did get the $10 coupon discount.
Description of Work: The first day, he snaked out the kitchen drainpipe. Did well there, although the charges were more than they should have been. The second day, he installed a newly purchased manifold and fixtures in the bathtub/shower. At first, he said the product I had purchased wouldn't work, and wanted me to go and buy a different one. He didn't even want to open the box. I opened it and showed him it would work. He said, "Oh, that'll take five hours to install." (So, the first day, he only snaked the drain.) He agreed that it would work, but said he'd have to come back the next day. It had to be installed through tile that was original to the house (1951), and no longer replaceable. He seemed to think that we'd be better off replacing it, but went ahead trying to enlarge the holes through the wall so it would fit. To do this, he used a hammer and screwdriver, to chip the edges of the tile around the holes. I asked if he didn't have something more suited to the job, like a Roto-Zip saw, or Dremel tool. He told me he's a plumber, not a carpenter. Needless to say, he chipped the tile enough that he couldn't continue and called for help from someone more experienced. I will replace the portion of the wall stud he removed, and I will patch the wallboard in the closet. I didn't expect him to do those things. But I will also have to re-install the spout so the escutcheon fits firmly against the wall, and then caulk around all the escutcheons, filling in the hole made by the chip he caused.

This was a one-man job. He was a very pleasant young man, and he did fix the leak, but the toilet hasn t been flushing well ever since, and they denied that he had anything to do with that. After he put in the plug to stop it from the leaking, there has been some problem with the water pressure. Even though they guaranteed their work, they are not going to come out and fix that.

Excellent. I needed to call twice in the same week. One I needed someone to replace leaking faucets and diagnois problem with shower. The clogged sink was unexpected. Kevin came the first time; Cesar the second. Both were knowledgeable and efficient. I have been taken advantage of by pervious plumbers and was very cautious. They were great and very profesional. On time; fixed the problems. I am again calling htem to fix a problems with a faucet installation a contractor doing some remodeling cannot fix.
