Planet Orange

Very well, the Planet Orange estimator was right on time and very thorough with his inspection and report. The technicians arrived promptly and worked diligently to project completion. They cleaned up the area nicely. I was satisfied with the entire process and would recommend Plant Orange for pest control services. The product is safe for children and pets and does not require residents to be away from the premises during product application.

We are in the middle of a move and things are a little chaotic right now so we will not be needing to have the service performed at this time. However, the company was responsive and professional and we would not hesitate to use them when needed.

I am prompted to join Angie's List becuase I value reviews of companies. I first had Planet Orange about a year ago and they did a very fine job. What prompted me to write a reivew so far after my initial treatment is what happened during my Annual Check-up with Planet Orange. First, no new termites! A very big plus in my book. I think it is common to have the little buggers resist and come back a little here and there, but very happy with the results of the initial treatment. Second, the Planet Orange employee that came to my home took time to answer my questions (I think his name was Andrew). He reviewed all areas treated and even looked in the garage for me. What I enjoyed the most is that he told me what he was going to do so I knew what to expect and provided the opportunity to ask questions. Lastly, I got a call from the Planet Orange office asing if the service recieved was satisfactory and if my expectations were met...I have to say "Yes" to that. They do not have a specific "termite" deal which I wish they would have. Regardless, after a 12 month experience, I think it is time to give the review and share my personal experience. I hope others have a similar experience and this helps.

Great company, very customer service oriented.

They called me for appointment and very flexible in timing. Showed on time. Listened to this issue and explained to us the details of the treatment. He completed the work in about 30 mins. And also offered free follow up treatment if the problem is still exists (within next 30 days). Its been few weeks now. The ants/pests problem seems to be completely gone. I will certainly recommend these folks.. One negative though on the pricing side. they are bit expensive for the services they provide when compare to similar providers.

We are a property management company and needed pest control services for a property in Richmond, California. We scheduled the first appointment online, and they showed up at our billing address rather than the property address (even though we had given them the property address on the phone). So we re-scheduled a couple times, and had a few problems. At the end of our 2 hour window, we would call and find out that either they were running late, or their service technician was sick or not working that day. It was very frustrating wasting so much time! Update: Scott the manager called to find out why we gave a negative review. He apologized for our inconvenience, and sincerely expressed his commitment to improving their customer service. (In fact, he told me that they made changes in personnel involved in scheduling.) He also gave us a full refund of the charges to compensate us for our inconvenience.

it went fine - but there seems to be a full influx of critters everywhere already and it's been only a month.

they came in and completed the work, they never did the 30 day follow up even though it was guaranteed and I was never contacted after their visit. 10/28/14 They came back and did the follow-up. Very friendly and professional. I will use them again. Great Job Planet Orange

They were honest. It would have cost more for us to do the spot cleaning but they were honest and said they didn’t think it would take care of our problem because our house has many angles. They were great. I think the pricing was good. The quality of service was great.

Nick from Planet Orange came into my home and looked around and then went to get the sprayer from his truck and sprayed inside and out of the home! He was here a total of about 20 minutes for $149.00..... Nick was great... He called the day before to confirm which was great!

The termite inspector came and looked over the room in question where the two termites had been found, but was soon suggesting the termites came from outside. I pointed out this was unlikely from our past experience with termites in the house. (Every time we've found termites, the nest was right nearby in the wall.) However, he seemed to have made up his mind that the termites came from some other place. The inspector checked the exterior of the house, the attic and beneath the house and found a few problem areas (later would find out he missed a lot of spots), and insisted the two termites must have come from OUTSIDE the house. I asked if further investigation could be done, like drilling into the walls and looking with a scope, and was told that there wasn't enough evidence of where the termites were coming from to do something like that. It turned into a circular logic argument: you can't look until you know where they are from, even though we won't know where they are from unless we look. He said I could call his supervisor and discuss it with him. I tried calling Planet Orange twice that day, but no one answered. In frustration I scheduled an inspection with a competitor, despite still having several months on our Planet Orange contract remaining. The competitor did a thorough inspection, found WAY more infestations the Planet Orange inspector had missed, and further took me seriously and instructed the treatment crew to look for the source of the two termites. The competitor's treatment crew thoroughly inspected the area and FOUND AN INFESTATION in the wall, just as I knew was the case. They also looked at some of the previous work done by Planet Orange and sort of shook their heads. Finally, they found an active infestation in the garage in a place Planet Orange had just treated for fairly recently (which of course the Planet Orange inspector missed). I think Planet Orange may have grown too quickly for their quality. I'm still keeping it a passing grade because of their past work for us. P.S. Although we got an emailed copy of the inspection, we never heard back from them.

The job was not really great. I called them up for a follow up appointment and they set the time, but they never showed up so I need to call them again. They said they are going to come for the followup but nobody ever came. They were okay, but I am not happy with their service that much, and as for the followup, they confirmed the time with me but they did not show up. They were generally okay but they did not cover more stuff, that was why I called them for the followup. They better improve their service. The pricing was okay.

We just moved into a house and it was filled with spiders. Needless to say my wife wasn't digging the company and wanted them gone yesterday. I'm not crazy about spraying the house with toxic chemicals so the google search began and I landed on the planet orange page. I was hoping we could find a non toxic solution to our arachnid company but must admit I was skeptical. Everything from booking the appointment, to punctuality of the technician, follow up calls after and most importantly eradicating the arachnids went as planned. Planet Orange seems genuinely interested in making sure their clients are satisfied. Highly recommend Planet Orange.

They were fine. They came by and did two treatments at the house and the bugs went away for about 10 months and now they are coming back. It's been almost a year so I can't complain too much. There were no additional fees associated with the deal.

The work was performed in a timely fashion (it took almost a month to complete). All of the technicians and carpenters were very professional, and I am pleased with the result. Since much of the damage was concealed, it was difficult to know the extent of repair that would be needed until the walls and roof area were opened up. Ultimately, in addition to the termite damage, I added in about a 170 sq. ft. area of back yard deck repair, where the sub-framing had rotted due to a leaking hose faucet. So Planet Orange had a pretty big job to do. Everyone was courteous, efficient, and professional, and a pleasure to work with.

I was recently contacted by the manager of the local planet orange as a follow up to my review and Angie's list complaint Scott, the manager was extremely apologetic about what happened and did his best to make things right. As a result of Scott's actions, I have updated the score based on an average of my initial dealings and those with Scott.

This service was excellent! I will use them again and again!

The inspector (Mr. Wescott) was punctual, thorough, patient, and was willing to answer questions. The crew (Robert and Josh) was also punctual, professional, and pleasant to work with. The job site was cleaned up well. This is the first time we use orange oil to treat drywood termite; therefore, we don't know how effective it would be. If we choose not to hire this company again, it would be due to the ineffective treatment method, not because of the personnel.

Planet Orange is a good company and I would use them again for pest control services. I used an Angie's List Big Deal to try them out. Scheduling was easy through e-mail. Unfortunately, I would say that punctuality was not exceptional. It was recommended that my 2 cats not be in the house during the treatment as it could potentially irritate them. So I put my pets into boarding for the day, and agreed to a 2-hour window in the afternoon for Planet Orange to come. The treatment itself was expected to take about an hour. However, I was called near the end of this time window and asked if it was OK if the technician came later in the day. Unfortunately, this window would have conflicted with the time that I needed to pick up my pets. So, I had to reschedule the service and I boarded my cats for no reason. They were as irritated as I was. The second time around, I kept my cats in the house. The technician arrived on time (I scheduled at the beginning of the day instead of end), was very polite and professional, and got to work. I had recently moved into a new house, so there were a few boxes laying around, but the technician just went around them without complaining. The spray itself smelled like root beer, and I didn't mind having that scent in the house! I watched my cats, but they didn't seem to mind the solution that was being sprayed. More importantly, I haven't seen a single insect since the service, and it's been about a month.

The service was excellent. They called and scheduled an appointment the day I purchased the service. Nick was on time for the appointment and discussed the service. He was quick and professional. Within the next couple of days I was contacted to see if my needs were met and they followed that with a letter, including a Planet Orange cloth shopping bag. It was the best customer service I've received in a long time! Thank you Nick!

We had an initial communication issue where I was told I'd be contacted Monday to set up the appointment but I ended up having to contact them that following Friday to find out what happened. From that point forward things went very smoothly. Nick called to confirm the appointment the day before, and arrived promptly. He was gracious and recalibrated after finding out that he had the wrong address (my old address was still listed on Angie's List). He arrived at the new address and clearly explained the process, even down to what the spray would smell like (root beer). He asked what specific types of pests we'd seen so he could make sure to target them. Excellent service and a thorough job. I will definitely be looking into regular service from Planet Orange. They were on time and did the job in a timely fashion. I no longer have an issue with ants around my home.

During demolition for a bedroom remodel, the contractor found termite damage. We called numerous termite exterminators and this company had a cancellation that allowed us to have the inspection done on the same day the termites were found. The inspector was prompt and answered our questions. We had the completed inspection report on the same day. The technicians came on time within 2 days of the inspection. The treatment was completed within the estimated 2 hours. They were careful to clean up after themselves. The technicians were patient and answered my questions, Our contractor was able to resume work within 3 days of finding the termite damage. We appreciate the ability of the company to help minimize the impact of our remodeling schedule. The employees we worked with were professional and we would recommend this company to friends and family.
