Very positive, very professional. Jodi came out and showed color samples and made a number of helpful design and related suggestions. Ken is very personable, professional, and easy to deal with. I did my own tear-out and replacement of the old tile counter, plywood underlayment and faucet. Ken was quite tolerant of things having been done not quite how he would have approached the problem. Overall, the work was a bit more expensive than I was expecting, but I'm very happy with it and with the fact that there was *no* re-work, clean-up, patching, or other half-assery at all.

The price was a little high, but it was worth it because the job was very well done. Jodie helped me with picking out an edge for the countertop. She was very accommodating. Her husband, Ken, was also very helpful and nice. He came out to install the countertops. He even noticed that the cabinets did not line up right and facilitated the fixing of that. He was very meticulous and did a great job. He even made sure all the seams were placed so they are aesthetically pleasing. I would definitely use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.

I thought it went very well, although it took more visits then I had anticipated. On the first visit, they brought samples to my place and helped me make a selection, and they also took preliminary measurements. On the next visit they lifted the existing counter tops to make exact measurements. This was important because there are no straight lines in my 35-year old townhouse; every wall and surface is a little bit off center. It took a few more days for them to fabricate the new counter tops. They made two more visits to actually install the new counter tops because they wanted to make sure I had access to running water every night. So, they installed the upstairs bath counter tops first. Then I had the plumber come the next day to reconnect those faucets and pipes. After that, the kitchen and downstairs vanity were installed, and I had the plumber reconnect those faucets and pipes too. The only unexpected event was when they removed the old kitchen counter top and discovered there was no support framing for the new counter top, so they had to fabricate some framing, which affected the schedule. I also want to point out that they were very particular with the caulking, which matched the new colors and was applied in very uniform beads. It just makes the new counter tops look even better. Also, Monarch is a Diamond Certified company.

Monarch has excellent customer service. Jodi came out to my house and explained the options for my counters as well as helped give me some ideas on sinks to look at. Ken took out the old countertops and did a template. Ken and his crew were very neat in taking out the old tile. When I had a concern over a mark on my cabinets (done when the original tile went it) that may necessitate a different edge, Ken went above and beyond and came back to my house with a couple of different sample edges for me to verify that the mark wouldn't be noticeable. The quality of the work is excellent; you can't see the seams, the full height back splash looks awesome. They worked out the template so that my island is a full slab. It was many months from the time Jodi first came out until I made the decision to proceed, I never felt any pressure to make up my mind; Jodi was always helpful in addressing any of my concerns. I highly recommend using Monarch Solid Surface.

The entire project was a positive experience from beginning to end. I initially met with Jodi Wallace in the Monarch office/showroom to go over the various countertop options available; she then came to my home to compare material samples/colors with my cabinets and made helpful suggestions that enabled me to make the decision to go with granite. She was very patient with me and answered all of my questions via the in-person meetings and subsequent phone call. Once I picked the granite style/color that I wanted as well as the placement on the slabs, the countertops were ready to be installed in approximately two weeks. Ken managed the entire installation and trouble-shot any minor glitches that occurred. Ken returned to my home on three different occasions to put the finishing touches on the granite and sink/range installation. The process exceeded my expectations and I am so glad that I relied on Angie's List to locate and choose Monarch.

Jodi and Ken did an absolutely fabulous job - we feel so fortunate to have found them through Angie's List. Jodi did a great job helping us select the right surface and look for our countertop and Ken measured and installed it perfectly. Even better, he was able to measure and template the countertop without removing it, so we had a fully functioning kitchen the entire time, except for about a day when the old counter was removed and new one put in. Also, while we were waiting for the counter to be completed, the new stone shop they were using dropped the price by $1,000 (to secure the business), a savings that Jodi and Ken passed straight to us!! Altogether, they were professional, helpful, timely, competitively priced and a real pleasure to work with. Our new countertop looks great. We would highly recommend them to anyone.

Jodi was amazing. She patiently and thoroughly explained the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of surfaces, both in extensive emails and in person. She helped me compare samples of our cabinetry and the slate floor (for the bathroom) to choose colors. She even brought out a case of old samples for my 4-year-old daughter to play with while we talked. Even though my husband and I were very slow to make a decision, she was very patient, kept in touch, but it never felt like she was trying hard-sell us. She convinced us to do the slightly more expensive option of an undermount sink - but I love it; it was well worth it. When I chose less-expensive edges she did not try to push for more. Ken and his installation partner (also named Ken!) were efficient, cheerful, careful and friendly, and they cleaned up after themselves nicely. The countertops look beautiful, we're very happy with them and we'd recommend them to anyone.

Jodi gave us lots of ideas and choices for countertop materials, edge treatments, and kitchen designs. She gave us so many we took a lot of time considering them. She was always patient and available to answer questions and give additional quotes. Their quote was not the lowest but we really felt good about working with her and her husband, Ken. They took us to a reference client and both the customer and the work convinced us to go with Monarch. When I raised a question about what seemed like the high cost to take out the old countertop tile, Ken said he has to estimate on the high side since he just didn't know what he might run it. The removal went well and he reduced the cost to us significantly. The installation is first rate and the work area was protected and clean when they finished. These are great people to work with. They know their products and how to satisfy their customers. We recommend them highly.

Excellent work! From the beginning Jodi and Ken were a pleasure to deal with. Jodi came late one evening so my husband could be there to help select the material. They were very quick and professional, start to finish. We are 100% pleased with the Corian countertop/sink installed in our boys' bathroom. Ken went the extra mile to shop for parts and hook-up the plumbing at my request for a very reasonable rate. Highly recommend them!

Monarch tore out our old tile countertops and installed Corian countertops. We were extremely pleased with the service and the quality of work. We had our cabinets refaced at the same time and Ken coordinated with our cabinet guy to make sure the project went smoothly and that our kitchen was operational the entire time. Jodi and Ken communicated with us in regard to the status of our project and were always on time. I would definitely use them again.

They were very professional and courteous. They kept in good contact about the status of my project. There was never any pressure to go with them for the countertops. No special price, if you sign today kind of thing.

The project was easier than we had ever imagined. We had gotten 4 other bids, but just talking to Jodi the first time made it obvious that they were the company to go with. The fact they are small and emphasize personalized services was important to us. Their bid was in the same ballpark as the others, but was the lowest by about 10%. When Jodi promised to have a bid to me within 48 hours, I assumed she didn't count the weekend, but there it was on a Sunday! Very cool. We had our own sink that was a weird shape, but they took the template that came with it when they did the measurements and never complained about the out of the ordinary. The templates were made quickly and the counters installed in 10 days right before Christmas. Our kitchen was kept in pristine condition and we were able to use it for all but the 48 hours between the old sink coming out and the new one being connected. Working with them was an absolute joy & I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Great. Work was done promptly. Disposed of old materials and cleaned up. Monarch made sure kitchen was not "down" for any length of time(3 days for us). We were told what we could do to cut costs and some problems that we might come across. Looked at the job site several times when we had questions while doing the kitchen.

Very professional from beginning to end. Visited home to discuss work, offered suggestions on make and color, but let us make the final decision. Received bid in the time promised. Work began and was completed in the time promised. Kept us updated on all steps and decisions. Always notified us if they could not arrive as promised which was not a problem for us. The estimate was higher from the original because we changed design during the process.

Overall, my husband and I are very pleased. It took us about two months to finally decide on a counter top. I must have called and emailed Monarch several times with questions on granite, wilson art, corian, and slystone. Jodi was very patient and very knowledgeable on the different products and the durability and warranty options on each. Once we decided on slystone, it took about 3 weeks for the product to arrive and took Ken two days to install. The counters look great, and we are very happy with our choice.

Ken & Jodi were such a joy to work with. Ken was meticulous. He used a drop cloth and even had a hand brush to make sure that everything was kept clean. The breakfast bar that he installed looks GREAT!

The counter tops took a little longer to install. But this was due to uneven counters, and I had them remove my pony wall after they quoted the job. They were very good at keeping my place clean during the tear down and installation. The window sill was cut incorrectly, and they had to rerun this section of the job. They suggested not gluing down the sill in case the window had to be replaced. The window sill fits very snugly in place. Very professional and meticulous about the job. My kitchen looks brand new, and I love to look at it.

In my opinion, this is the best contractor for countertops. Jodi & Ken Wallace are a great team. I had a lot of questions and had a tough time with the decision for countertops. Jodi was very patient and assisted with colors, styles and options, brought out lots of samples and worked till we got it right (and of course I was in a hurry). Ken is a master at the craft! I have a lot of counter top space and I have one seam in the entire kitchen. He is extremely meticulous. I compare my kitchen to new homes now and I can see the difference in the quality and care of their work (mine is superior). Ken takes a lot of pride in his work. They are easy to work with and are very accommodating. Their prices were very competitive, beating out the competition. I highly recommend them!
