Halcyon Overhead Door

I purchased a special from Angie's List and called to set up an appointment. I talked to Jennifer, who was very courteous on the phone. She scheduled an appointment for me the same day. Armando (the repairman) called ahead and was waiting for me at my house when I arrived. I work just 10 minutes from my house. He surveyed the problem and quickly went to work replacing the springs on my garage door. He was knowledgeable, efficient, courteous and fast. Overall I am very satisfied.

It was very good. The owner came and did the replacements. He works at his home but i found him to be very personable and his service was fantastic. The work he did was impeccable.

The service guy was here on time. He introduced himself and gave me his business card. He was called in for 1 double garage door that wasn't working. He replaced the spring that was broken and proceed to inspect the other 2 doors. He also inspected and serviced the other 2 doors upon my request. He advised me on future maintenance and potential replacement options for the large sized doors. He took time to inspect the exterior where I have issues with a particular panel on which the paint keeps pealing. He advised me on what to do to take care of the issue. He left full written information on future replacement products that would give us the correct power for the oversized doors.

The service turned out very well. There was an additional fee to have all of the rollers replaced and to have the actual controller changed. The technicians were great at explaining the problem clearly and giving me options. They were punctual and finished on time. I was able to pay over the phone and was very happy.

Halcyon is extremely courteous and professional. They did their best to make the earliest appointment available. Serviceman actually called to ask if he could come earlier which was great for me. He tried the door once and knew exactly what was wrong, replaced the part, and then found that the garage door was not stopping at the top where it should which he also fixed. He was explaining to me how the garage door works (I had no idea) as he was checking the track, motor, hinges, and other parts. He gave me suggestions/advice on how to check the motor (original that came with house) to see if it is on its last legs (he said it looks okay so far). Very friendly and fast service. And the door works again. I had wanted to get a keyless remote opener, but my motor is too old (doesn't have the pin things) so I couldn't get that installed. Finished in about half an hour. Will definitely use them from now on and as soon as this one burns out, I want them to install the keyless remote! Great company and service!

They were responsive, showed up on time, and took care of the problems quickly. It was painless! Would definitely recommend.

It turned out good. They did a great job. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. They were very friendly and very prompt. We've used them again since. I have nothing to compare their price to.

Did a great job. He also programmed the remotes in both of our cars. I would recommend them to anyone.

We have a 20 year old garage door which was a cheap model put in by the developer who built our home. These last 5 years we've had 3 different companies come out to repair various things on it, and by far Halcyon has been the best. I was convinced there was no way someone was going to be able to make the door functional again since this time a bolt and hinge had torn off the flimsy door. But Halcyon did it! They also replaced a worn out sensor for free with a used part they had with them. The price was great and I really liked the checklist they use as part of their overall inspection of the garage door. We will definitely be using them the next time our garage door breaks down (although I'm hoping they are not able to repair the garage door next time to finally persuade my cheapo husband that the time has finally come to replace the darn thing!)

We had scheduled the original appointment two days earlier than the date when the service was actually performed. The vendor never showed up and upon calling after the appointment window had come and gone, we learned that, for some reason the original appointment was never recorded at Halcyon Overhead Door. Due to this oversight, they offered us a discount for the actual scope of work performed. The "B" rating for punctuality reflects the initial appointment snafu as I had to leave work early only to wait for no one to show up. However, the quality of the work done, the attempt to correct the missing appointment with the discount merited an "A" rating for the rest of the Ratings criteria, especially the responsiveness to address the problem with the original appointment. The entire project was completed in 3 hours and our garage doors are much quieter when we open and close them. Despite the problem with the original appointment, we would be happy to use Halcyon Overhead Door again.

My car was stuck in my garage and they came that afternoon, on time and replaced the springs. Fast and efficient. Very professional too.

The fix didn't last and I still have the problem with my garage door.

We used Halcyon for a new garage door opener installation last year, and were so impressed that we called them again to replace our other, older opener. Their prices were competitive, and the information they provided regarding specific selection and installation details (Belt drive or chain drive? How much horsepower is needed?) was greatly appreciated. They were able to schedule our installation for the same day (!) - but as it turns out, their previous job ran long, so they weren't able to make the originally scheduled appointment time. However, Jennifer kept me well-informed, and worked with me to define a mutually-acceptable alternative. Jon arrived and was incredibly personable, informative, and - most of all - capable. We had a few challenges with the installation, but he and his assistant were able to resolve them all without difficulty. They also installed a MyQ gateway to allow for internet control of our openers ( awesome, BTW), as well as diagnosed difficulties with HomeLink commands from our vehicles, and installed a repeater to ensure reliable functionality from them. They even went the extra mile to ensure all controllers were programmed as needed, and verified full functionality. A perfectly-implemented installation effort, which we couldn't be happier with. If you have a need for any garage door services, you should go with Halcyon. It's as simple as that.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased for my brother. They were really good and did a really good job. They double checked everything after the installation. They came in and adjusted everything. We would give them 5 stars. We were very happy. I didn't spend any additional. The pricing and quality were excellent. It took a little longer to get the appointment but it was reasonable. They were on time.

Called to get a quote on a new garage door including installation. Everyone was very responsive and showed up on time for each of the appointments. The installation had some "challenges" to it due to a beam in the center of my garage. A Liftmaster Elite 3800 was installed and some minor adjustments to the garage door opening frame was done. Everything went smooth and it continues to look great and operate as expected. Much quieter than the previous door I had!

It went well. Once they oiled it up; I haven’t had any issues with it since. They solved my problem. It was a big deal purchase. They seemed to be professional. They lubricated the door. They did a bunch of things and whatever they did; I haven’t had that recurring problem.
