Halcyon Overhead Door is based in San Jose. We are locally owned and operated, and have over 20 years experience serving the South Bay, Peninsula and East Bay installing and servicing residential and commercial doors and openers for thousands of satisfied customers. We carry all the major brands (NorthWest, Amarr, Clopay, Holmes, Genie, Linear and LiftMaster) and offer a wide range of models and styles of both garage doors and openers to suit your individual needs. In addition to our quality garage door products, we also offer and install RaceDeck garage floor tiles. These rubberized tiles are a great way to “finish” your garage. As well as being attractive, the tiles add warmth and safety, and are durable and easy to clean. Yet with all the quality products we offer at Halcyon, our #1 product is our SERVICE -- fast, friendly, and affordable. Since we’re locally based and have focused our service on the South Bay, Peninsula and East Bay we’re able to offer you an outstanding level of individualized customer service. Our owners are very hands-on and are an integral part of the day-to-day operation of the business. In addition, our well-trained, courteous, and professional technicians are ready to serve you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, rain or shine, and we guarantee our service. Description of Work: Overall, it went very well. They were on time, had called ahead to see if they could come earlier, and the installer was polite and courteous. My only complaint is that he left some garbage in the garage as well as several of the small metal fasteners on the ground in and outside of the garage (I have two dogs and this could cause a problem). He also left the old outside keypad that we had replaced laying in the driveway. Better cleanup would be my recommendation. My overall price was higher because I had the keypad replaced and a belt drive instead of a chain drive.

Description of Work: Showed up a little late. Installed the garage door mechanics and electrics in timely fashion and cleaned up after. |There was a misunderstanding by the installer about payment, but the company corrected it before I could. All in all, quite well done.

Description of Work: Bought house with old heavy door that didn't work. |John did a lot of work to get it running & advised motor was on it's last legs. |The motor subsequently failed & a neighbor gave us a door he had recently replaced. (same builder, identical house) |John installed new jack-screw motor but the door wouldn't fit. |Ordered new door & now all is good. He reused newly installed hardware on new door, saving us some expense. John went above & beyond to accommodate our wishes... ...even if that meant extra work for himself. He is a fastidious, no BS guy that does great work. | |

Description of Work: The main spring on my garage door snapped a couple of weeks ago, and I found Halcyon Overhead Door on Angie's List. They came out the same day I called and the service technician did an excellent and fast job replacing the main spring, and replaced all of the rollers and door seal, plus "tuned up" the other moving parts, all for only $350. Excellent service, excellent work - I would highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Thanks to Angie's list I received a great deal on a garage door motor replacement and garage door tune-up from a service provider that I never would have called on my own. Everything went well from my first contact with Jennifer at Halcyon Overhead Door to the expert motor installation and door tune-up by Jon. The only surprise was a pleasant one when the opener model called for in the "Deal" was no longer available and replaced by a newer model.
