Halcyon Overhead Door is based in San Jose. We are locally owned and operated, and have over 20 years experience serving the South Bay, Peninsula and East Bay installing and servicing residential and commercial doors and openers for thousands of satisfied customers. We carry all the major brands (NorthWest, Amarr, Clopay, Holmes, Genie, Linear and LiftMaster) and offer a wide range of models and styles of both garage doors and openers to suit your individual needs. In addition to our quality garage door products, we also offer and install RaceDeck garage floor tiles. These rubberized tiles are a great way to “finish” your garage. As well as being attractive, the tiles add warmth and safety, and are durable and easy to clean. Yet with all the quality products we offer at Halcyon, our #1 product is our SERVICE -- fast, friendly, and affordable. Since we’re locally based and have focused our service on the South Bay, Peninsula and East Bay we’re able to offer you an outstanding level of individualized customer service. Our owners are very hands-on and are an integral part of the day-to-day operation of the business. Description of Work: Halcyon replaced garage door springs for me. I had a broken spring and found that they had a big deal for $199 and I purchased it. I scheduled the appointment with them - very easy. The technician was scheduled for 8am-10am slot, and he arrived at the latter part of the time slot, maybe 9:15-9:30'ish in order to pick up some parts before coming in. He was able to complete all his work by the end of the scheduled time slot, and he went through and explained his work to me in detail. I'm happy with the work.

Arrived a little late but CALLED which we appreciate. He was stuck in traffic but as stated did call. Angel was the repair person and very knowledgeable and personable. Will use the company again if needed in the future.

The garage door installer was very punctual. He made an assessment of the problem with my garage door opener and I gave me a couple of options for repair. I chose to get a new opener. Nick installed the new opener and made some other recommendations for future work to be done on the garage door. The reason I gave this company a lower mark for professionalism is because they acted as if they weren't aware of their own coupon on Angie's List. Nick had to call the office and after a long discussion, they insisted that I print the coupon. I did use them for the recommendations by Nick. On the follow-up visit, Nick didn't have the right strut for the garage door and again, there were problems with the use of the Angie's List coupon. I told Nick that the company really should be more organized and responsive in that area and decide it's policy relative to the coupons--accept them or not.

We tracked Halcyon down from a neighbor whose garage door we admired (I am very picky about aesthetics and was hesitant about a steel/plastic door not looking cheap - these doors are substantial and have clean lines and do not look cheap at all). Our neighbor was extremely pleased with his doors and the service he received, so we called Halcyon. They were great from the get-go. Pleasant, willing to work with us as we made decisions about windows, etc. The installation was quick, very clean and we absolutely LOVE our garage doors. We get compliments all the time and have passed on Halcyon's name to friends.
Description of Work: We had our very old, very heavy ranch garage door removed and a new carriage house steel garage door installed. Our doors were installed primed, not painted (we are still deciding on house colors).

We called the toll free number and were instantly satisfied with the customer service given to us. They came right out to our home, gave us a great estimate, and installed the door without a problem. The door works perfectly and we really felt the men that came to install it were neat, punctual and very professional.
Description of Work: They installed a one car garage door with an automatic door opener, sensor and remote control. The job took one full business day to complete and all used material and waste was taken away by the contractor.
