My garage door was installed 20 years ago and the chain operated door opener is becoming erratic and noisy. I could have just replace the chain drive, but decided to replace the old door opener with a newer and more powerful belt driven one. The job was done quickly, everything was cleaned up after the job was done. The technician was very pleasant, answered all my question in a clear ad professional manner.I forgot the first appointment date and called the office to apologize and set up another date. The person who handled my call was very pleasant about the whole deal, and so was the technician by the way. I wasn't even charged for the wasted time I caused!

MAKING THE APPOINTMENT WAS VERY EASY. VERY COURTEOUS OFFICE PERSON CALLED BACK WITHIN 24 HOURS AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT THAT SUITED MY CONVENIENCE. I WAS GIVEN A 2-HOUR WINDOW OF ARRIVAL, 11 - 1:00. AT ABOUT 12:20, THE OFFICE CALLED TO TELL ME MR. SPUNG WOULD E THERE SORTLY. HE ARRIVE TEN MINUTES LATER. MR. SPUNG FIRST INSPECTED ANDA PERFORMED ALL THE WORK INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL OFFER. IT TOOK ALMOST AN HOUR. AFTER THAT WORK WAS COMPLETED, HE CALLED MY ATTENTION TO FRAYED CABLES AND A POORLY OPERATING DRUM THAT WAS FRAYING THEM. HE WAS VERY CLEAR AS TO PRICE OF REPLACEMENT, $125. PARTS AND THE LABOR WAS $120.I TWAS A BIG JOB AND TOOK ALMOST TWO HOURS SO I FELT IT QUITE FAIR. HE WAS COURTEOUS AND CLEAR. I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

They were professional, good, quick, and I am very satisfied with them.

Vendor is very professional. He came on time. He recommended additional work, which I definitely needed. The price for the additional work was very reasonable. Without this work, I think I would have ended up paying a lot more when the garage door motor died or when the other spring gave out and ruined my garage door. He must have saved me about $5,000. Halcyon is very experienced. They will save you money and make your garage door work better and quieter. He will extend the life of your garage door!

.Service was prompt and professional. The technician did a good job. The original deal was $189 for changing garage door spring. He talked me into changing the bearing for additional $70. He claimed the bearing were damaged. I'm having second thought about doing this. I should have asked him how he figure out it was damaged since it was not obvious to me and the price is very steep at $35 each. The deal specified $189 for changing spring and garage door maintenance. He was ready to leave right after the spring change. He only did the maintenance part after I ask him about it.

Though what I needed done was pretty straightforward, I appreciated that John was on-time and was able to complete the job very quickly. He also made sure to double check that the new garage door opener worked properly and that the sensors on the door were working properly. The only thing that I was a little disappointed about initially was the amount of time it took to hear back from them to set up an appointment. Otherwise, everyone I spoke with was very nice and I'd definitely recommend this company to others.

Mr. Spung is on time, fast, and efficient. Excellent service. In addition to that, the recieptionist is quick to respond to my email.

He came, I worked in the back yard, he finished and it was like I had a brand new garage door.

Used Angie's list 'spring replacement' Big Deal offer for $189. Tech replaced the springs with no change as the motor was really the problem. He re-installed the old but still-good garage door springs, and then replaced the entire drive motor unit and electronics.

Wanted to have new remotes programmed and have a combo code garage door opener installed. When the service tech came out he discovered that a spring on my garage door had broke. He replaced all the springs on the garage door as well as reprogrammed my remote for just under $700, not sure if that is a good price, but the service I received was top notch and I feel comfortable that he did a good job. I would recommend them to someone else.

Repairman did an excellent job. Replaced and tuned spring so door worked well. Went above and beyond by also cleaning tracks and let me know that we need to do that more often than every 20 years. I asked him if garage doors needed regular, yearly, preventative maintenance (which would have been a perfect time for him to upsell me) and he said no, the doors are pretty maintenance free - just call when things go wrong. Will definitely be calling them to replace our door when the time comes!

My wife and I purchased a "Big Deal" coupon via Angie's List for garage door service (inspection and cleaning), which also included the installation of either new quiet rollers OR a keyless entry pad, all for $99. Immediately upon purchase, I sent an email to the company reporting that I had purchased the coupon and seeking to set up service. Within the afternoon, someone got back with me and we set up the service call. On the date of service, the tech was 10 minutes late (traffic), but that is the only bad thing I have to say. Otherwise he was courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. He quickly and efficiently examined our whole system, reported that we did not need new rollers (as ours still seemed to be in good shape after a good cleaning), and suggested we might want to use the coupon for the keyless entry. He cleaned and lubricated the entire system, as well as making a small repair to a single roller that had come out of its track and which my wife and I were clueless to fix on our own. Further, he discovered that the motor was poorly secured to the ceiling, which was causing a lot of extra noice when the door was raised or lowered, so he secured it good and tight. Now it opens smooth as butter, and sounds SO much quieter! Lastly, since he judged our rollers to be in good shape, he installed and programmed a keyless entry pad according to the specifications and location desired by my wife. And he did all of this pursuant to the single $99 coupon we purcahsed via Angie's List. My wife and I are very pleased by Halcyon's service, would recommend them, and will definitely make them our first call for any garage door-related service we require in the future.

This was a wonderful experience! Arrived early, very professional did job quickly and our garage door now works like a dream.

We have an angled set up which I went over for quite a while with the estimator over the phone. I wanted to make sure they understood the way it was. We set up an appointment one week out.The technician was able to replace the openers without issue. He also replaced the springs which he said needed to be done, but gave me the impression the ones he put on would work, but were not the right ones. The door sensors stick out further than I was anticipating, but we did not have them before so that just may be the way they have to be. Although the technician was there longer than anticipated, the price did not change. His cleanup was overall good, but I found two screws left behind that certainly could have lead to at least one tire issue.

Called Halcyon to request estimate of torsion spring replacement. Was quoted the going rate for the valley. What made the difference was the responsiveness of the customer support person and her knowledge of warranty information. She scheduled the appointment for the repair the next day.JT arrived during the window given by the customer support desk. He was professional, polite and completed the service in a very quick time frame(Start to finish--30 minutes.) He advised me that I needed to replace the bearings for the torsion bar and quoted a fair price. He did so and the door is now much quieter when opening.JT was great, courteous, professional and efficient. Would use Halcyon again and would ask for JT.

I got an Angie's List Big Deal for a garage door tune-up and motor replacement. The office staff was extremely helpful, even when I had to do a last-minute reschedule because of a very sick child. The work was scheduled for 12-2, and I got a call this morning saying the technician would be available earlier, and asking if it would be convenient to change my time window (I changed the time, but felt no pressure to do so.) The technician (John) was incredibly friendly and helpful (he helped me move some boxes out of the way.) He was efficient and very neat in his work. He removed and replaced the old, broken opener with the new one; he then replaced the automatic buttons and the wires leading to them, and the sensors. He oiled the wheels and checked the springs. I am thrilled to have my garage door working again after quite an extended period without. I would unhesitatingly recommend this company!

Our garage door opener finally failed on the evening of Sunday Nov 27 after at least 25 years of operation. First thing Monday morning, my wife contacted the person who had done some maintenance on our garage door opener over the years but she found out that he was essentially now retired and only did repair work. I provided my wife with the information that I had gotten from Angie's List to contact Halcyon. She called Halcyon and they said that someone would be out anytime before 10 am. The person from Halcyon arrived around 9:35 am. He replaced the garage door opener and programmed new remote transmitters. He also installed a new control switch for inside the garage and located it in a more convenient location. All this was accomplished by 10:35 am. The technician was couteous, knowledgeable, and very professional. He also explained all of the unit's new features. The new Liftmaster unit is working great and is much quieter than the previous equipment. We also received a 10% discount by using one of their Angie's List coupons. We also got another 20% discount due to the manufacturer's rebate.

Called Jennifer on Friday. I asked her somewhat technical questions which she answered well, confirmed price and scheduled appointment. John arrived on time Monday afternoon. He was thorough, knowledgeable and efficient. He cleaned up very well afterwards. He did an excellent job!

Jon showed up on time and was polite and helpful. He finished quickly and the outdoor key pad works great. No problems here!

When making the appointment I was put on hold 4 times. Once we decided on a date, I received a call a week later to say they had a scheduling conflict and I would need to reschedule. The technician left without informing me of how to use my new keypad or leave an instruction manual so I could change my code etc. in the future. He did however let me know that his wife has a discount travel service where I could get cheap cruises. He gave me his business card from the travel service, but not from the garage door company...very strange. Once he left, I tried the door myself and it didn't work. I called the shop to have the technician dispatched to return to my home for instructions, but apparently the only person in the office who could dispatch him was on her 15 minute break. So apparently it's okay for me to miss a few hours of work waiting for them to arrive and do their work, but Rose had to take her 15 minute break without coverage. Once the technician called me back I mentioned that I could not open the garage door using my code. He forgot to mention that zero is always added to the code. How the heck was I to know this? He asked me for a four digit code, I gave him a four digit code and he turned it into a 5 digit code!
