Halcyon Overhead Door

The person from Halcyon was very professional and did great work. I'd called them to replace our garage door spring which had been previously recommended for replacement. The Halcyon repair person noted that the wheels on the door itself were worn and causing a lot of drag on the motor. He recommended replacing them and I had him do that work as well. The whole thing took maybe one hour. I'd definitely recommend them for this type of work.

They did a great job. I wasn't there when they came, but my son was, and the door has been working much better ever since.

Upon first contact, they were responsive and professional. We had them quote several different door types and they provided addresses so we could see the various types of doors were were considering in actual homes vs. just a sample board or photo. When John came out to do the measuring and take the order, he was very professional and answered all of our questions. When they came to do the install, again they were very professional and did a great job. We are very happy with the doors.

I do not remember the serviceman's name, but he was quite friendly. He showed up promptly, did excellent work and cleaned up perfectly. I would most likely use the company again, should the need arise.

They came out when they said they would and did a good job. The rollers they replaced have held up well.

Great deal of $75 for installation of exterior keypad (very cheap, did not take 5 minutes in the outside frame of door), technician was ready to leave even though it included safety inspection. When reminded, he said oh yes... and I reminded him that we had a problem with the alignment. So he worked on it and found out that he needed to change both sensors ($80).. did not tell us how much it would cost or just ($49) and then adjusted the price at the end... He finally did the safety check in 2 minutes and did not adjust anything... We were really disappointed regarding the adjustment of price for the service. He also took the notice of the keypad (how to use it and warranty if any) with him and our 2 sensors (one was a new one). Had a terrible contact with Rose, the receptionist, on the phone, who did not respond within the time frame and it took almost a month to have a technician come over. Rose has told me that the deal was only for one service so either the keypad (battery operated) or the safety inspection. I had to contact Angie's list to have the complete deal because she made me doubt. I had the deal printed when the technician came. It is really a joke and turns out to cost us more than full price, I understand that for the sensors we should have paid extra, but the price kept changing and then he added 30 minutes of work ($43 just to make it even $80)... I don't know, be aware.

Hector worked diligently and quickly in the cold night. In a little over an hour and a half, I had two properly functioning garage doors. As requested, he replaced the rollers on one door and the cables on the other. Hector answered all my questions about the general maintenance of our roll-up garage doors and showed me his method of replacing the rollers if I decided to try it myself. We are happy. The local feral cats and possums aren't happy because they can't sneak into the garage any more.

Hector came on time and he was very professional and he did what he was supposed to do and that was to replaced worn out rollers with new ball rollers. I couldn't be any happier with his service. Y

Halcyon arrived on time, they were friendly and professional. They greased and oiled both garage doors so that they opened without noise. They also helped us reprogram our 4 garage door openers without charging us extra.

Although I was not there, the contractor came and replaced our old garage door opener with a more modern, quieter version and installed a remote pad so we can access our garage with a code. Everything went smoothly!

The associated work was performed on November 1st. On November 4th, I found that the garage door would not open except manually. I immediately telephoned Halcyon Overhead Door for a return service call at no expense. After some delay, such a service appointment was confirmed for November 14th. On November 11th, I received a call indicating that I would be charged a fee for the service call. I responded by indicating that it appeared that the company was not taking responsibility for the work performed on November 1st. I was asked to speak by phone with the technician who performed the work. While our first appointment to speak was missed by the technician, after a second appointment was made I spoke with the technician. To resolve the situation, I offered the option of receiving a no-cost service call or of me returning the exterior keypad in exchange for a refund of the $75.00 service fee. An agreement was reached for my return of the exterior keypad for a refund. On November 18th I returned the exterior keypad to Halcyon Overhead Door. On November 23rd and again on November 29th I sent e-mails to the company indicating that I had not received my refund.

The repair person was very professional. Also worked quietly and fast. He pointed out one of the spring was broken so we replaced that too (~extra $150 cost I think). The garage is now operating very quietly and smooth, no bouncing at the end of the rolls. I plan to use them again.

I was not home, my roommate was to deal with the contractor. Had to have a phone conversation to clarify things. Although I paid for a keypad to be provided, I already had one as part of the new door opener I had purchased. I was kind of surprised I didn't get any credit for that nor for a large array of spare parts I also provided, including almost an entire garage door opener. Ultimately, the job got done fine.

The dispatcher was very personable and clearly an effort was made to prioritize taking care of my problem.
