Tom from Apollo Heating and Ventilation was very professional. They did an outstanding job. The finished work was very nicely done. They were very pleasant to interact with. I think they were very forthright and honest about their products and installation. They are one of the best service companies that I have had experience within San Francisco. I would use them again in the future.

He came in on New Years Eves to fix my heat. He had a very good work ethic.

Our tenants in San Mateo contacted us early Saturday morning saying that they weren't getting enough heat even though the heater was on all night. We got two different places on the Peninsula to come out Saturday and take a look. One said: Bad design with the ductwork by builder (agree on that) and furnace is not powerful enough for that size house (possibly). Options? Big fix (install new furnace for $2,400) or quick fix (install new ductwork for $600). The other business said: It's not the circuits, but can't tell what it is without full diagnosis. Gave us a reference for another guy who wouldn't be available until Tuesday the earliest to diagnose. Since nothing was going to be done before Monday anyway, started scouring the Internet for other well-reviewed places and happened upon Apollo. Even though it seemed that they mainly serviced San Francisco clients, I called anyway first thing Monday morning and I was able to schedule an appointment for later in the afternoon. Manny Jr. came within the one-hour scheduled window , went up into the attic for about 25 minutes, came back down and said problem was resolved. The strap to the cold air duct had come loose and the duct had collapsed into itself thereby trapping the air. He said the screw used to hold the strap down was too short and thus used a longer screw, which should prevent this from happpening again. Did he think we needed a new furnace? No, should last another 10, 15 years.Thank goodness for Apollo. For the price of a service call, saved us from paying hundreds or even thousands for something we didn't need.

It was fine. The guy came, found what was wrong, fixed it and it worked. He was very fast, efficient and very businesslike. He charged me about $100. He didn’t chit chat or anything. He didn’t try to sell us a new furnace. I liked that he just fixed the problem and told me that I don’t have to worry about the other things. They were fair as well. I don’t have anything to compare their price with. When it comes to the quality, the furnace is working fine. The guy called and asked me if it was okay if he came earlier than his appointment. I would surely use them again.

Great service. Prompt. Repaired our heater even though we called last minute on a Friday. Will definitely call them again if we need heater service.

When i mentioned that not all the rooms in the house were being heated evenly, the technician checked the various ducts free of charge and addressed the problem. The professional work and punctuality very appreciated. The cost is very reasonable.

Overall I was very happy with their service. I called in on a Monday to ask about getting my furnace maintained. The call was answered quickly, and we set a Wednesday appointment for 3-4. On Wednesday I called in and left a message since he hadn't arrived. I got a call back quickly (10 minutes or so) and they explained that 3-4 is the arrival window which I should have realized. At about 4:10 they called back to say the tech was running behind, but should arrive shortly, and he was there at around 4:30. A bit later than the window, but good communication and not that bad overall. The tech was very professional, came in and found there was no power at the furnace. He checked in the junction box on the furnace and confirmed it just had not been connected. We flipped breakers to determine which one it was, and he suggested installing a switch to specifically control the furnace (charged me ~$6 in parts). He performed the maintenance, and then hooked up a thermostat that I had purchased. I liked the little things, including setting the time on the thermostat. We ran the furnace, confirmed that fan-only worked, and he recommended that I run it for about 20 minutes to get the smell out. Even though he was late, he made sure to get all the little details handled, rather than rushing the job. Everything was done within the initial hour and the rate was very reasonable. Definitely worth using again.

We recently bought a foreclosure. Heater was working fine, but we disconnected it for three weeks as we painted and did other home repair work. When we hooked it back up, it wouldn't work. We called this morning and they were available in the afternoon - they even showed up an hour early (but they called to make sure it was ok...) They originally quoted us $100 but when the guy saw it was a faulty part, we needed to get a $215 part. I don't know why the part stopped working in that three week period. The work was done in about 30 minutes. It wasn't cheap, but if you need a new part you gotta pay for it. The guy was nice and professional and even left a new free filter for the next time we need to change it (and he showed me how to change it). Wish it hadn't cost over $300, but I am cozy now - which I would happily pay $300 for.

Excellent, honest, hard working family operation. Been in business for many years. Very professional, reasonably priced, efficient. Did a fantastic job, all in one day!!

I called to get an estimate on some fixing of heating ducts, plus figuring out why one room doesn't get heat. The person on the phone assumed immediately that the dampers were not in the right positions. This is not true, as the contractor who did my house inspection checked this, and told me "I don't know why there's no heat, call an HVAC professional." I was very surprised that the person I spoke with thought he could diagnose the problem over the phone, and also disregarded what I was saying. When I mentioned that the ducts from the kitchen fan and bathroom fan needed to be connected to the (already existing) vents in the roof, he told me I needed a sheet metal person. He did not seem to be listening to a word I said, and did not seem to want my business.

Overall I was very impressed with the service. They were informative on the phone and very responsive and flexible with when they could come out. They also gave some great information about the heater that we didn't know - we just bought the house 6 months ago, so that was very helpful.

I left a voicemail saying my furnace would not start during the night. They called back by 8:15 AM; were at my home by 9AM and had the ignitor changed out and were done by 9:30AM.

I called this company with information about the part that needed to be replaced, as described by another vendor who had done an on-site estimate. Apollo assured me it wouldn't cost over $200 to do the work (which was $700 less than my estimate with the other vendor). They sent out a repair man who proceeded to tell me it would be very expensive; groaning that they don't normally work on this type of furnace and wouldn't normally carry the part around in their truck. The estimate that I got over the phone a few days later was $850! Clearly if they had listened to me on the phone, the whole experience would have gone a lot better and I might have hired them to do the job.

Heating companies are unfortunately in high demand when the weather turns cold. We called on Tuesday and made the earliest appointment possible for Friday. (Three other companies were providing similar response times.) There was no fixed fee required for showing up, unlike other companies. An initial inspection and test in the morning determined that the logic board needed to be replaced but the part was only in stock on another service truck. The second repairman with the logic board arrived at the end of his schedule ("sometime after 4") and replaced the part around 7 pm that evening. Both repairmen were efficient and professional. A minor quibble would be that if the necessary part had been on the first truck, we would have saved some cost and our time.

They discovered and fixed a blocked vent, which fixed the problem on the 2nd floor. In addition, on their own initiiative, they discovered another duct on the first floor that was blocked at one end, reducing heat flow to the dining room - they fixed that as well. In my opinion, they went above and beyond to make things right. In addition to that, they're extremely friendly. They charged my mother-in-law $100, which I think is a fair minimum fee for any house call. I found them to be a highly professional company, so I'm giving them my highest recommendation.

I have used them several times a year ago. I spent $400 for fixing the furnace. The guy was very honest. He worked for more an hour, but charged me only for an hour. I had called somebody else. They diagnosed the problem, but couldn?t resolve the problem. So, I called him. He found the problem right away. The part was very expensive. I am not sure about his hourly rate, but he was very reasonable. I have had no problem with my furnace so far. It is a father and son business. I will use this company again in the future.

They are excellent. I have used them numerous times. They are very responsive and honest. They are honest about their pricing. It is the father and son who look after the business and they care about their business.

Came on time, was efficient, and did the work for the price quoted. I would use them again for any other heating problems.

He was very good. We discussed it and we decided not to go ahead with replacing the heater. He recommended that we not replace the heater. If we had gone ahead with the work, I think I would have used him. I thought he was very honest because it could have been a job for them. He talked to us and told us that the only reason we would need to go ahead with it was if we were remodeling the downstairs and really needed the space. Otherwise, the heater we had was very reliable and we wouldn't get any benefit if we removed the old heater. I thought he was very upfront and very honest. Some people would have just wanted the job and would not have told us all that. They came on time and they made an appointment. That was nice. He was very responsive. I called and I had them come out in a couple of days. He was on time. He was an older guy and obviously very experienced. He knew what he was talking about. He was very professional. If I had a problem with the heater and it broke or something, I would call them. He was able to come out sooner than the other company I had called. I was rather surprised that he recommended that we not replace the heater. My husband had doubts anyway because the heater is old, but it does work and it's a pretty simple thing.

It went pretty good. The price was okay.

Installation performed exactly as stipulated and according to prelim cost estimate.

Arrived on time, quickly confirmed my diagnosis of a bad furnace controller board, retrieved a new one from the truck, replaced it, and we had heat in under thirty minutes. The price seemed reasonable for a service call. Would certainly call again.

They were very good overall. They were reliable, punctual and amiable. They worked with the tenant's schedule to do the work.
