Very professional work. All duct work tucked neatly into the joists creating more headroom on lower floor. Everything well insulated. Left job site (my house) clean. We've had other contractors in the house since and several have commented on the high quality of work done on the new heating system. We had a small issue with the city inspector (nothing to do with the quality of Apollo's work). Apollo immediately dealt with the issue at no extra cost. It was a situation where a less ethical contractor could have demanded to be paid more. They were not the lowest cost bidder, but I'm very happy we went with them.

He came out to install a new thermostat for me. I also wanted him to check and clean my furnace. The thermostat he put in does not have an on or off switch, and is continuously blowing out cold air. He also told me that I should just save my money instead of having him clean and check the furnace.

It got replace and the furnance works.. its just very expensive. $235 for the part onto of the $120 for labor. I am not sure what is the MSRP is for the module but online it goes for a cheaper. I cant expect online prices but a customer shouldnt expect to be price gouge on top of their hourly rate. Their busienss model is not to make money off from service but also selling you the product. The man on the phone says, he will not service your home if you bring in your own product.

My thermostat is older and wasn't working. The technician pointed out what the problem was, resolved it and informed us that it was not necessary and we should be fine. I appreciated the candor and the service charge was the lowest one possible for the problem we had. I would use Apollo for future problems.

They were either late, a no-show or would show up with out touching Base first. When they arrived they took a quick look at the job and called me saying that it was not a job that could be dome. I than asked them if they could do an estimate for a necessary repairs. After doing the estimate I was stunned at the cost of the repair. I decided to have another Plumber come out and do an estimate. For the second estimate I again went to "Angie's list" and looked up the #1 Plumbers in the San Francisco area (Heise Plumbing) The second estimate was extremely easy to understand and over $1,500.00 LESS $$$! I have had them (Heise) do the work and I am delighted with the completed job!!!

We had a situation, where one of our tenants had an issue with their heater going into the holidays. I called a couple of other heating companies first, all well rated on Angieslist.list, but they were busy, and also when I explained the situation, they were preparing more for replacing the heater, which was only a couple of years old and that was still days out. Thanks to Angieslist, found Apollo and what I liked first off with them, when I called and explained the situation, they too were ready to replace the heater, if need be, but believed the issue would be more related to the venting and/or needing to clean it. They had a plan, explained it to me and it was clear. Chris came out, even earlier than the window given, and was very detailed on the efforts. He was neat, and clean, especially given that one is taking things apart in the apartment and cleaned out everything outside. Went to the roof top to confirm the flue/ventilation was working as expected. Very impressed, and they have moved up to our first company to call in the future for our heating needs.

They were punctual for the appointment to give me an estimate giving and were punctual for the installation as well. Because I was having two furnaces installed, I had been concerned about how long the installation would take and was pleasantly surprised when a three man crew showed up and completed most of the installation in one day. The second day only involved a little follow up insulation work finished up by one workman in less than two hours. The crew cleaned up after the installation and hauled away all debris and the old furnaces. I would not hesitate to recommend Apollo Heating to any of my friends.

Our furnace stopped working, conveniently, on a Friday night, during the first cold weekend of the year. We called PG&E to come out and see what was wrong, but they couldn't come until Monday, so by then we were really getting annoyed with the problem. The PG&E guy diagnosed the problem: it was just dead batteries in the thermostat (we just bought the house and didn't even know there were batteries in the thermostat). However, as part of his routine safety checks, he sprayed the 20 year old furnace all over with soapy water to see if there were any gas leaks. He found some bubbling under the control valve (the small box on the front of the furnace where the pilot light is). He red-tagged our furnace, disconnected the gas, and said we would have to get the control valve repaired. Great. I called a couple places on Angie's list (including one place that came up under "gas leak repair" that didn't even work on furnaces). The third call was a charm, and I found Manny Sr. & Jr. at Apollo Heating and Ventilation. They were right on Geneva Avenue, just down the hill from my home at the top of South Hill Boulevard. I spoke with the receptionst and explained our situation, but she said they didn't have anyone available until the following day. I pressed a little more and she offered that I could try to call back around noon when Manny, the owner, would be there. Manny Sr. was very straightforward on the phone. He made time for us and he sent his son, Manny Jr. up within an hour or so. Manny Jr. arrived prompt, clean, polite and professional, and most important he was very skilled at his trade. He diagnosed the problem with the leaking control valve and he took the time to explain how they worked (there's a bladder inside and if it gets punctured, the valve needs to be replaced). He miraculously had a replacement control valve in his van, and he had the old one off and replaced with the new one in less than 20 minutes. The heat was back on! Manny cleaned the area around the furnace and gave me a very reasonable bill for $389 (I think the part was around $250, the service call was around $100). We're SO glad we didn't have to replace the furnace. Manny said that if we maintained our furnace it could probably last another 10-20 years. I'm a very happy (and relieved) customer and I can whole-heartedly recommend Manny Jr. and Sr. to anyone in the area who needs help with their furnace. Thanks, Manny & Manny. You guys are great!

Another vendor (listed here on Angie's list) tole me that my furnace was cracked and needed to be replaced. That vendor turned off the furnace for safety and followed up with a written estimate for a new furnace (approx 2,500). I called Apollo. I explained to the woman who answered that I wanted a second opinion. She suggested I call PGE to have them evaluate the situation. PGE came out and said my furnace was fine but my fan wasn't working. I called out Apollo they confirmed the fan wasn't working and took it back to their shop for repair. They reinstalled and all is good. This all started because I had called out the first vendor to "service" my working furnace. Apparently that is not necessary in this climate (San Francisco). That was my lesson - "servicing" a working furnace is bogus.

I called Apollo and my call was promptly answered. I described my problem and the guy said he could come over later that afternoon. He gave me a 1 hour window and showed up during that window. He looked at the furnace for a few minutes, had me turn the power off and then back on. He figured out that it was a "limit switch" and told me that he could fix it and told me the price within about $5. After doing the work to his satisfaction and mine, he wrote me a bill and I gave him a check. He was very professional and efficient. I really like Apollo and will highly recommend them going forward.

Our gas furnace wouldn't light and we weren't sure what the problem was but smelled gas everytime we tried to get it working and thought it best to call the experts. They came quickly, assessed the problem without issue and took care of it without wasting a lot of our time or theirs. They were very professional and nice. I scheduled an estimate to have my asbestos covered ducting replaced. The reason this company gets an "F" is for two reasons: 1) Attitude - I received a call from a gentleman the day before the scheduled estimate who was very gruff on the phone. He wanted to move the scheduled time, and when I couldn't, he bombarded me with questions about the project. I'm all for asking & answering questions, but his demeanor on the phone was quite unappealing and come across as if I'm putting him out. Considering I'd be paying good money for this project, he should be much more pleasant to potential customers. 2) Responsiveness - The individual who came out to write up the estimate did a thorough job. I'm not sure if this is a plus or a minus, but it took over an hour to look things over. Every other vendor I spoke with took half the time, and seemed much more confident in their approach. When he finally left, I provided my contact phone, email and address. I still have not received any contact or estimate from this organization. I expect at least a follow up and/or estimate to be provided in a timely manner.

The estimator came out and immediately said that I needed a new gas valve. The price for both labor and parts he quoted was close to $400. When I suggested that I could probably order the needed valve significantly cheaper myself and have them install it, he said they would refuse to do that because they sell these products at "list price" and do not inflate it in any way. Further, if they weren't selling the part in addition to labor, they'd supposedly have to charge more for labor (which means they do indeed make money on the parts). Luckily, I decided to get second and third opinions about the issue, and in both cases was told it wasn't the valve. One of these other heating companies came out and simply adjusted gas/air mixture ratio on the heater and the noise stopped. No parts replaced! Additionally, I did find many compatible valves sold online for a fraction of the price quoted by Apollo.

I was extremely satisfied with my Apollo heating service experience, They arrived at 1:05, the window was from 1:00-2:00. My heater in my art studio had a short between it and the thermostat. He rewired the heater, drilled a hole, and installed a new thermostat. This took less then an hour! He was friendly and fast. I am now working in my heated studio! I am no longer working in a refrigerator. Thank you Apollo! Job well done.

When the Apollo serviceman checked on our furnace, that wasn't working, and replaced a small part to get it working again, I asked for information about replacing the heat ducts. They had some holes in them, plus they were a tangled mess, apparently from installing new ducts at different times, and the insulation blanket was torn and falling off. Apollo designed a new more efficient duct system, installed two new vents to downstairs rooms that hadn't had heat vents, installed modern, efficient insulation, and modern controls to regulate the heat to each heat vent. They also coordinated with the asbestos removal company so that the asbestos and old ducts were removed one day and the new system put in place the next day. The Apollo workmen were neat, and left the garage clean.
