I purchased a Big Deal from Angie's List--$200 to install a new outlet. I received a response email within a day, offering an appointment for two weeks later. I was a little surprised at the delay but fortunately it was not something that needed immediate attention. Red arrived just a few minutes after his window. He was very professional and personable. He got right to work and was finished within an hour, running a conduit between two new outlet boxes. I was pleased there was a solution that didn't involve making holes in the drywall or ceiling. Red was so efficient, I had to wonder if I hadn't actually overpaid with my voucher! (Actually, Red said it was probably just about even.)

Responded to my texts very quickly. But, he was on vacation. He stated when he would be back and we set a date and time for the work to be done. He was on time on the project date, gave me some good advise and this and some other projects. Did the work he was contracted to do, cleaned up his mess and restored all areas to their previous state. Left within the time frame agreed upon. A good experience.

This is the second time I used Affordable and I will use them again if needed. JR went on the job at 8 am buying supplies and arrived right after that. By 1:30 he had 3 LED can lights installed and working in the kitchen and 4 more in the dining room. He also installed a dimmer in the DR. I was concerned that only 4 in the DR would be inadequate. JR?s assessment of them was spot on ? good thing we went with a dimmer. Before beginning work, JR placed tarps and sheet plastic entirely covering the 2 rooms. He then spent a considerable amount of time locating the lights so that they would be functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. One of the light positions in the kitchen hit a joist in the ceiling. Instead of just moving the light over a few inches, he measured the layout all over again and moved both lights in the row so they are the same distance from the cabinet ends and look like they belong. Even though I bombarded him with questions about possible future jobs, he got the work done as quickly as humanly possible. He thoroughly cleaned up after himself. It?s important to note that all electronics can fail in the early part of their life: LED lights are no exception. Affordable warranties the lights and will replace them if needed while in the warranty period of the light. I had affordable install a ceiling fan some weeks ago and it coincidentally quit working the same day the can lights went in. JR returned later that same day to trouble shoot the fan. His install was good and it was a problem with the fan receiver module (remote controlled fan). Because I had supplied the fan, it was up to me to go back to Home Depot and get it resolved. JR did not charge for the second visit that day. Affordable?s prices are fair. Each can light installed was $150 per which included the LED lights and the can that goes in the ceiling above the drywall. The dimmer switch was $95 ? all parts and labor included. I think that is very reasonable. Everything is done to code. For the record, I am not affiliated with Affordable in any way. I just like to see a great father and son business flourish ? they deserve it.

My son called Affordable Electric to inspect the electric panel at our house. Red came out, found and replaced hree broken breakers (original ones from 1947), and replaced a faulty wall outlet, as well. The price for replacing 3 breakers and an outlet installation for $215, including a senior discount was very fair. We were very pleased with Red's work, service, and honesty. My husband and I are both seniors and had been taken advantage of before by Powell Electric, who tried to charge us over $400 for replacing ONE breaker. It was so nice to know there are still honest, good electricians out there, in spite of big companies like Powell giving the trade a bad name.

These guys really know what they are doing. Very professional and truly affordable. Will always use them in the future.

This time I called to upgrade circuit breaker and install new outlets in a home office. Called three times to set appointment to come out, left messages twice, spoke to him once and never got a return phone call to set up appointment. Very disappointed.

Red and JR are the best. After we learned that we did have active knob and tube wiring in our old home (contrary to our home inspection), I set about collecting bids. I interviewed ten electricians. Red was the first electrician I called and ended up being the last bid I received, due to how busy he is. It was well worth the wait. Red is extremely knowledgeable and competent. His inspection of our home to create the bid was very thorough, and the estimate was clear with each item delineated and cost noted. Once work began, Red showed up on time every morning, worked straight through until the end of the day, then gave me a synopsis of the work that had been done and the plan for the next day. He was happy to offer detailed explanations of what he and JR were doing if I asked, but otherwise was too busy working to talk much. I appreciated this, having had contractors who want to hang out all day. It's worth noting that his bid was 30% lower than my highest bid (!) and he could probably charge more for his services, but is a fair and reasonable guy. At thus point, I don't think we'll need any electrical work in the near future as everything is done, but if I do, he is hands down the one I will call.

It went great! Prompt, explained things well, worked hard and quickly. Problem fixed!

I've used Affordable Electric on 2 occasions. Most recently, on a sprinkler wiring repair in April 2015 and before that 4 ceiling fans installed in Fall of 2014. JR (son) did the fans and Red (father) did the sprinkler system repair. They were both professional, prompt, sharp and courteous. They get the job done right the first time and live up to their name by providing no nonsense pricing at extremely competitive rates. This is who you want for your electrical service. (Fans 3 @ $150 per new instl. & 1 @ $100 for replacement/ sprinkler wiring @ $100 )

JR was super efficient and has a great personality. Gave me a great idea for my formal living area too! Thanks for the excellent service. Estimated price was even better. Definitely will use and refer this company.

I highly recommend Affordable Electric. We had several light switch that needed to be two-ways which they did for us. We were so pleased with them that we had them do other electrical work around the house. They installed a fan in the laundry room, repaired some faulty wiring they found that could have started a fire and we did not know about and a number of other electrical issues. They were very reasonable for the work performed.

The installation of my level 2 EV charger was pretty neat. Turns out that Red has been doing this type of installs before but not mentioned under his company profile. Very professional and friendly.

Affordable Electrical Service in San Dimas is fantastic. Red Weinert and his son J.R. provide quick and effective electrical service in a straight-ahead, no-nonsense manner, and for a very fair price. They came to my home the day after I called, diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes, and finished the repair within 45. They also made a follow-up visit when a florescent ceiling light in the same room needed a new ballast. For both service calls, Red kept in touch with me by phone, which I really appreciated. Also, while at the house, they don't stand around a chat -- they're polite and courteous, but get on with the job and finish the work efficiently, allowing me to get on with my own work. I like these guys, and I'll hire them from now on for all my electrical needs.

Had an issue with my fuse box where I could not get a fuse to reset. Red stopped by the house 1 hour after I called and showed me how to reset the fuse properly. He also explained the issues with my current system to me but said I should wait until I do the home remodeling I am planning on and that I should explain the issue to the contractor at that time. He spent about 1 hour with me and charged me nothing. This is an honest man.

We have a flat roof house, so every site where new wires had to be located were fished through the walls or ceiling. A very tedious and difficult job. Red replaced and added LED lighting, counter and undercounted lighting, all new outlets and switches (all brought up to current code), ran 240 and 120 volt lines, did the same for the low voltage ethernet lines, and ran all communication cables for our surround sound system in the family room. On time, professional, knowledgable, knows other trades well enough to advise, cleans up daily after the job, etc. I have been associated with the electrical industry for years, worked with many electricians, and Red is the complete deal. We not only recommend him, but will use him on any upcoming project.

The technician was very knowledgeable and efficient. The electricity in two parts of my home suddenly stopped working and he fixed both in very little time. We will be hiring them again and hope to write another raving review after those jobs are completed!

I believe the technician is the son of the owner. The fixtures had been replaced in 2011 and the electronic switch was less than a year old. He figured out that one of the ballasts was bad, so he replaced it. He said it was probably defective from the factory. He also determined that the electronic switch was not working correctly, so he replaced it with a new electronic timer switch. I am happy with the quality of the work and with the reasonable cost.

Red (technician) did an outstanding job on troubleshooting our electrical problem and ultimately solving it. Red provided an estimate of various tasks, such as repairing a light switch in our bathroom including the fan. He repaired a wall plug that needed replacing. He installed (2) vanity light fixtures and replaced the associated wall switch that was not compatible with the newly installed light LED fixtures in a separate bathroom. Finally he replaced a dimmer switch in our living room overhead. He was very thorough and cleaned up after the repairs and installs were complete in every section of our home. I would definitely use Affordable Electric again.
