The customer service was horrible and people made excuses. They did not know what was going on and failed to show up twice with the right person to do my job.

It went fantastic. I called the company in Long Beach to see if they knew a reputable company in San Diego that could replace the water heater. The company told me that they had a branch in San Diego that could do the job. The cost was feasible. They came out on a Sunday which definitely helped me out. They are company that is definitely willing to go the extra mile.

An old white van arrived with two people, Manny came to the door and I showed him the two outdoor outlets. He wrote a quick estimate for $219 each outlet and $119 for each outlet cover. I asked why it was so expensive and he shrugged his shoulders and said "San Diego"? I then declined the service and want a refund. This is a scam they had no intention of doing the work, they are using Angie's List to phish for victims. Shame on Angie's list for supporting their criminal activity looking for victims. Refund please

If I could possibly give something lower than an F, I would. I have a single bulb in my garage for lighting. It stopped working so I purchased at $49.00 deal for $150.00 worth of electrical services. I let Comfort electric know exactly what was going on. I asked if the existing single bulb outlet could be replaced with an LED flourescent or something similar. the response was - yes, you can definitely use your coupon towards any work that you would like done by us. Long story short, the technician told me that he couldn't provide a fixture and that I needed to go buy one. He then said it would be $499.00 to trouble shoot the problem. Plus $240.00 to install if I bought a fixture. $739.00 plus a fixture cost?! For a simple single bulb?! The technician seemed less than concerned about my about my response. He barely wrote five lines on a quote and left. I emailed the contact that I was given (no phone numbers) and asked what kind of bait and switch is this No response from them.. I am a subcontractor and I would never pull this kind of crap. I have purchased plumbing work from Angie's list and have always had a very positive experience. Really disgusted by this.

I needed to have the electrical system of my 1950s era home updated. I chose Comfort Electric through Angie's List service, and am so glad I did. They updated the breakers at the main panel, replaced my subpanel, replaced every single outdated outlet and switch, added grounds to every single outlet that needed one, and added circuits to support air conditioners. Ed and Justin (the dynamic duo) showed up on time every day of the job and had a great sense of humor. They tolerated the presence of three dogs who all wanted to "help". They cleaned up their mess at the end of the day so I didn't have to worry about little bits of wire getting stuck in my pets' paws. They also made sure to save the pieces of the walls they had to cut out which made it easier for me to patch after the job was done. The job itself took 3 days, and the house runs great now. I can't recommend them enough, in fact, I already told all of my family in the San Diego area that if they ever need electrical work, they should contact this company.

The guy was great. He explained a lot to me, and I felt really comfortable with all the work Todd did. Will definitely continue to use for our future electrical needs!

Company reps I spoke to were uncaring and refused to reschedule another appointment. Only advice was to ask for a refund. Which I did. Angies List processed the refund immediately.

They did a very good job on the installation. They were very timely and scheduled me right away. I have a high ceiling so it took a bit of work. The original price quoted was around $350, and I had an add on for a dimmer at an additional price, which added more to the final bill. Overall the service was very good but I felt the extra add on cost could have been better clarified ahead of time. I wasn't too fond of the survey they presented me to fill out while they were still there finishing up but overall the quality was good.

I waited 3 hours on the scheduled date. Provider called and showed up and said he had a busy day and could not complete my job. We rescheduled for two days later at 8:00 am. Installer was a no show on the rescheduled date and time. I called company at 8:30 am and was told I wasn't on the schedule. I had paperwork contrary to that information and I have to assume he never turned it in or contacted the scheduler; so I was not on the calendar. I found a cell phone for the installer as he had called me the first date to say he was running behind and would be at my house in an hour. He answered and stated he had 6 calls this morning. I stated I was left over from two days ago and I wanted my project completed today and that he needed to figure it out. He called me back and said his brother would be doing the job. I questioned his skill and licensure. Eventually he and his brother showed up at 9:45 am. I was watching from a distance in my garage to the outside. I needed to see where he had measured the light to be and if in deed he was adding the J box component he said he needed to charge me extra for. He asked me if I was going to watch the whole time and I noted I usually watched the installers ( noting from a distance of 10-15 ft. and not any way in his way ) he got nervous and was very unprofessional and with a stern comment stated he would charge me more if I was watching. I asked if he was joking, and he replied rapidly, NO! I left the garage area. I resumed watching/listening from a further distance away ( as I felt his brother did not appear to know what to do and I was fearful of an accident, or electrical damage to my property). He kept looking around especially when the brother made errors; eventually raising his voice for me to just leave him to be alone. He started the job but left telling his brother, he could finish; so he could get to their next job. I'm sorry he had overextended himself but his customers should not suffer the result. I stuck it out only because I had already taken off a day of work to be home for the first install and had to now do it again (loosing pay!) . I was not available for a third reschedule. I was extremely I really tried to think of this situation any other way possible. My intention is to never get someone in trouble, but it comes down to... I would not recommend this provider to anyone ! - Deborah

As stated above. They were very thorough and did not cut any corners, paying attention to every detail. At the end of work they tested the system and found a few minor things that needed correcting and did not leave untill they were corrected. They cleaned up afterwards and the garage area was actually cleaner than when they started. We have another project in the near future that we will definitely use Comfort Electric to do. VERY impressed with their work ethic. I wish all businesses could follow their example.

They were prompt and arrived when expected. They electrician trouble shooted the issue for 2-3 hours before determining that it was probably a spa failure versus electric supply. He charged us nothing for the call or assessment. Highly professional and honest. We would use them again. We hired a spa service that was able to correct the problem.

The promotion was $299 worth of electric work for $99. What I wanted them to do was replace a part. I bought a fixture at the hardware store. I wanted him to install a fixture in the kitchen. I wanted him to replace a socket. I figured that $299 is probably about 2-3 hours of work. They didn't work that way. They said the installation of light would cost $315 and I didn't like that at all. Their pricing is exceeding. They came out and assigned values to the projects. The guy was very nice. His ability was very good. I was very disappointed in the way he presented it.

It was fine but in the end, he didn't really fix the problem. He was here for not more than about 15 minutes.

They sent the electrician over, and he seemed like a very freshman and didn't know anything. He didn't even open anything, and just said I guess and maybe, and then he gave a huge price. I asked him how he opened the cover, and he can't see through the wire. They gave me an estimate of $400. The price was ridiculous. I got another handyman, who came and opened the cover and diagnosed it and only charged me $99. The comfort electric guy didn't diagnose anything and wanted to charge me $400. They came out pretty quickly. I think the guy didn't even know what was wrong. Electric is above my knowledge but common sense is that it can't cost so much, maybe it is just a switch or a wire that is not connected. The other one just opened the box and showed me a wire that had come off and he just pushed it in. This guy didn't even open the cover, I felt that he is not a professional and maybe he was new in the company. The price was ridiculous. They didn't respond to me. I told them the price is too expensive, but I already bought the deal so if we could cancel the voucher, and they didn't even tell me yes or no.

I got a much larger bid for more work than I was asking for, but only had the work done I had requested. Technician was friendly and professional.

It went OK, they got the job done. It was a little more than what I expected for what he ended up doing. How it was officially described is not what was done. It wasn't outrageously over the cost. I thought it was going to be around $150, but not over $200. The Big Deal was for $500 worth of straight wiring. There were no issues. At the start, he asked if I had ever had my electrical box looked at. I told him if he wanted to look at it, he could. He wanted to charge me $70 for an inspection, I said no. They were on time. I would use them again if I need too and if I was completely clear on what I needed.

I had purchased $300 worth of work for $99 on the specials. When they arrived I made it clear that I did not want to exceed that purchased amount and that he should tell me if I was asking for more work. I showed him the work to be done and he said fine and sent a helper to change the light fixtures. I thought everything was OK and went into kitchen. Several minutes later he comes to me with a bill for over $600 to me to sign. I repeated that I did not want to go over the $300 of service and that he better stop his helper if they were going to do more than that amount. Then he started negotiating the amount saying he would do it for $400, I was exasperated over this, but I wanted the work done so we settled for $300 with me paying an additional $200. They were pleasant and got the work done: however, I believe that this was a bait and switch scheme that they have done over and over. Thank God I didn't agree to the $600 bill, but I am sure others may have fallen for this way of doing business. It turned out that the $99 I paid for only covered "consulting". If all of the Angies' list specials are like this why would anyone use them?

Todd called before he arrived and I told him the new light needed to be installed on a 14 foot ceiling. The two tall extension ladders Comfort had were in use, so he picked up his personal ladder on the way over and used it. He arrived on time, really knew what he was doing, and quickly installed the new light. Also checked out our electrical box to make sure it was up to code (it was). I chose them because of high ratings on Angie's list and they did not disapoint.

Adam was on time and called to let me know he was on his way. He diagnosed our lighting problems and fixed them as we wanted. Very polite and friendly person. Professional all the way.

I purchased a deal of $99.00 for $300.00 worth of services. I knew I'd likely be spending a little extra to get the two fixtures installed, and my total cost including the deal was $258.00. Initially the response was fine, and I was offered one of the three dates I chose for the service call. I asked for an estimate for the installations and provided photos of the vaulted ceiling as well as a detailed description of what I needed. I had to wait a for 5 days and had to prod a little to get an actual reply, but eventually spoke with Heron, who gave me a quote. After looking a the various deals offered for similar installations I was satisfied that they were fair prices. He even gave me a price for hanging the chandelier that was the same as another deal Comfort Electric was currently offering, so I really appreciated that. Beau was the installer, and he called me in advance to let me know when he would arrive. He was extremely pleasant, polite and professional, and listened to my wishes about the height and location of the fixtures. He was able to access my attic space without any problem, and fished a line to connect with a constant power source. I have a remote control with my ceiling fan so there was no real need to cut into the drywall other than to hang the fan. He installed everything beautifully and without any damage. He cleaned up any debris as he was leaving, and had completed the job in just a little over two hours. I'm very pleased and I will definitely call them in the future to install another ceiling fan in my bedroom.

My experience with them went okay. The pricing is too expensive. I was supposed to get $300 worth of electrical service but only got like $100. I wanted them to put a switch in and they wanted $300 for that. The work is okay, but the pricing is too high when you go to use your credit.
