I had a wonderful experience with this company. I was able to call and receive same day service even though it was not an emergency. The technician (I believe his name was Julian) was friendly and thorough. He listened to all of my concerns, recommended solutions, and executed on them within 24 hours. I also felt the price charged was very fair and reasonable. I will use this company again for any future electrical or plumbing needs.

I am absolutely thrilled to write this 5-star review for the exceptional service I received from Austin at United Plumbing Heating Air Electric. After dealing with the frustration of two previous estimates that seemed grossly inflated, I was fortunate to have found Austin, who not only fixed my furnace but did so at an incredibly reasonable price.

Paid $490 for a diagnosis and $30 breaker replacement. Used breaker still worked after the "repair". Got a second opinion from another company as the problem was not fixed by the breaker replacement. Turned out to be loose wiring/corrosion into the panel. Their pricing was upfront, but the quality of the diagnosis left a LOT to be desired. That's a very expensive cost for a very quick "repair" and inexpensive part.

Tune up went fine but we had additional work done as there was an "odor" we could not get rid of.

I recently purchased an $89.00 Coupon on Angies list for the above company to perform a whole house electrical inspection. That inspection noted on the coupon also included 1 additional hour of electrical labor to address other electrical issues such as installing new lighting or new lighting, dimmer, etc., which is what I really needed and purchased the coupon for. After buying the coupon I called United to make an appointment for one of their technicians to come to my house. The Technician showed up at the date and time promised. I told the technician I wanted him to look at a problem I was be having in one of my bathrooms first. There was either a wall switch that was bad or the LED cannister lights had to be replaced. On the way to get to the bathroom the tech spotted the electrical panel in the garage and said he would like to check that first. I said OK. He opened the panel took a 3 second look and immediately said; “you have a problem the breakers are over 10 years old and that can cause a fire., you need to replace them, and we would be happy to do the work (estimate $700) + dollars, plus any changes needed to an outside panel, let me show you a video on why they should be replaced”. I told him that if every house in San Diego with breakers older than 10 years needed replacing, even though they are working fine that would probably mean at least 95% of breakers in all homes in San Diego would need to be replaced. I also told him an electrician who did work in my house 2 years ago replaced one of the breakers that went bad and never said all the others should be replaced. There was nothing wrong with my breakers. I finally got him to look at the problem in my bathroom. It turned out the wall switch, that I thought was bad was fine, but the LED canisters needed to be replaced. He said he could replace the lights for about $150. (parts and labor). I told him I had the parts and labor was included with the coupon. He wasn’t even aware that the call was to perform an hours’ worth of labor work based on the coupon. After giving him the replacement LED canisters I had purchased, he resolved the issue in less than 10 minutes. On the way out, he looked at the panel in the garage again, still trying to sell me on replacing all the breakers. While he may be right that old breakers should be replaced after some period, I was angry because it appeared the entire coupon offering was just geared to sell replacing breakers, whether needed or not. He also never even performed any other of the items noted on the coupon such as check wire insulation, and grounding systems, etc. He was just determined to sell me new breakers, plus who knows how much other unneeded work. If I had to rate them on their high-pressure tactics (it was that overt) I would give them a D rating. However, he did find and correctly fixed the electrical issue in my bathroom. So overall, I will give them a C.

The electrician himself was easy to get along with and really knew his stuff. The company had been bought out a week prior to our appointment so the scheduling staff were not very good at communicating with the electrician or with me about when the services were supposed to be rendered. I would hire the electrician again but not the company itself.

Good job, Wally was on time and replaced the electric panel, upgraded outlets to gfi, and replaced dimmer switches that didn't work. He also was able to diagnose and fix kitchen lights that didn't work. My house is much brighter now.

I waited 3 hours on the scheduled date. Provider called and showed up and said he had a busy day and could not complete my job. We rescheduled for two days later at 8:00 am. Installer was a no show on the rescheduled date and time. I called company at 8:30 am and was told I wasn't on the schedule. I had paperwork contrary to that information and I have to assume he never turned it in or contacted the scheduler; so I was not on the calendar. I found a cell phone for the installer as he had called me the first date to say he was running behind and would be at my house in an hour. He answered and stated he had 6 calls this morning. I stated I was left over from two days ago and I wanted my project completed today and that he needed to figure it out. He called me back and said his brother would be doing the job. I questioned his skill and licensure. Eventually he and his brother showed up at 9:45 am. I was watching from a distance in my garage to the outside. I needed to see where he had measured the light to be and if in deed he was adding the J box component he said he needed to charge me extra for. He asked me if I was going to watch the whole time and I noted I usually watched the installers ( noting from a distance of 10-15 ft. and not any way in his way ) he got nervous and was very unprofessional and with a stern comment stated he would charge me more if I was watching. I asked if he was joking, and he replied rapidly, NO! I left the garage area. I resumed watching/listening from a further distance away ( as I felt his brother did not appear to know what to do and I was fearful of an accident, or electrical damage to my property). He kept looking around especially when the brother made errors; eventually raising his voice for me to just leave him to be alone. He started the job but left telling his brother, he could finish; so he could get to their next job. I'm sorry he had overextended himself but his customers should not suffer the result. I stuck it out only because I had already taken off a day of work to be home for the first install and had to now do it again (loosing pay!) . I was not available for a third reschedule. I was extremely I really tried to think of this situation any other way possible. My intention is to never get someone in trouble, but it comes down to... I would not recommend this provider to anyone ! - Deborah

Great. They recommended a plastic outlet cover which I paid for separately. Glad they recommended this and had it on hand.

diagnosed the problem wrong and went on to charge for changes which were not needed. had to call a different electrician to fix the problem correctly..

Everything went great, smooth, good communication, great service. Loved all the techs I worked with - would highly recommend this company.

I found them on the website where you meet up with groups in your neighborhood. I was looking for an electrician and they were fabulous. They came over and figured out my problem, but I felt really stupid for not figuring out myself. They didn't treat me like an idiot, so I called them back. They didn't charge me anything. They call you before and everything. They are very good. They are coming back with an estimate of cost and labor for another job in about a week or so.

Jessie from United came out to troubleshoot my AC system and was knowledgable, professional and courteous. He walked me through each part of the system and worked through multiple issues to get the system blowing cold air again. Highly recommend.

Great. Jeremy came out and discovered it was one breaker in my breaker box that wasn't turned on. He fixed it and didn't charge me. He asked if he could give me a quote for some work, and I agreed. He carefully explained what work he suggested, and gave me four different combinations of the work, each with a different cost so I could choose. We'll definitely hire United when we decide to do the work. Most important to me is that Jeremy assured me that the work that needed to be done was not because my current electrical set up is unsafe, which is what an unethical service tech might have done to push me to do the work. Jeremy was professional and very kind to me because my husband had just had a stroke.

It went well. It was an easy fix and Brad just charged me the service call. He was very professional and if I could would ask for Brad again. I was impressed that he used shoe covers when coming in to your home! The company also called to tell me he was on his way.

Service man was friendly and professional. He did not try to sell anything not needed. I requested that the thermostat be replaced. He was here for about a hour and a half.

I was so tired of being cold! We had just moved into a new home around Christmas. Initially it was hard to get anyone to come out during the holidays for what I intended to be a repair on my existing wall furnace, and then I found United, who offered to come out the very next day if I wanted. I chose the following day for a Saturday service call (which is a very nice option). Technician Jesse from United arrived at the appointed time and immediately set to work taking the cover off the old furnace. I admit I had a rude awakening at that point: It was not only encrusted with about 2 inches of dirt from years of disuse, but also had a large black spot in the middle that is a sign of imminent cracking. While Jesse said he'd be willing to try fixing it, he couldn't guarantee it wouldn't crack (or even explode) soon and recommended a full replacement. Having seen the inside of the old unit myself, I didn't argue. Jesse immediately went and got us a shiny new unit and installed it that morning with a new thermostat. My home has been toasty and warm through the recent cold snap and I have United Plumbing's excellent customer service to thank for it. I admit I have no idea how what I paid compares to other companies, as I did not want to wait even one more day to be warm.

The electrician that did our work, Ryan, was very professional and did an outstanding job of installing an entire new electrical panel. When one of his fellow workers injured himself doing the carpentry work for the panel installation, Ryan took over and completed the installation himself, not leaving our house until everything was completed, tested and the work area cleaned up - this was well into the evening and he was working by flashlight to complete the job. United allowed us to take advantage of a coupon special they had that, although it was not exactly related to our problem, they honored it saving us hundreds of dollars.

First, I purchased a deal (Transaction ID: 573879) that your site said was “$39.00 for an electrical service call”. This was from a company called United Plumbing Heating, Air Electric. I set up an appointment with them and their representative, Manual Espino, came to my home. When he arrived I showed him the work to be done, but he informed me that he was just there to provide an estimate, not to do any work. He then quoted me a price of $300 for installing the switch and $250 to repair the outdoor electrical box. I thought this was completely outrageous and told him to leave. I then purchased a second deal from Angie’s List. This one was for $99 for two hours of electrical labor from C&H Handyman and Remodeling (Transaction ID: 665481). I got in touch with John Bennett from that company and he came out to my home. He successfully installed the switch in less than one hour but said that he needed some parts to install the outdoor box. That was more than two weeks ago. Since then, he has been completely unresponsive to my attempts to contact him. Clearly, I would not deal with either of these companies again. Angie’s list is supposed to carefully vet the companies that sell their services through your site. Unfortunately, that quality control seems to be lacking.
