After trying to install the ceiling fan we provided (that does not even have an integrated light fixture) for over two days, seriously damaging our ceiling in the process, the first electrician abandoned the project and sent in his supervisor. The supervisor finally finished the job efficiently in the time the entire project should have taken in the first place, and attempted to cosmetically repair the damage caused by the first guy. Rather than plan the job before starting work -- and using house wiring assumptions that were incorrect and that caused him to cast around and mess with breakers, light switches, and the like -- we finally told the first guy he simply could not continue on the job when he proposed to cut a big hole around a switch plate on a wallpapered wall in order to get a power source to the fan. That turned out not to be necessary. Our "$99 for $299 worth of electrical services" ended up costing us about twice that, plus three days of anxiety and damages.

James Evans did a great job installing the ceiling fan I bought at Costco. He was Professional, informative, helpful, and polite; he protected my furniture with a drop cloth; tested the ceiling fan before he left and made sure everything worked perfectly. Well Done!

It went okay. It took an hour to do the inspection. I had some electrical projects in mind so I wanted to establish a baseline. He found a couple of burnt circuit breaker positions on the busbar, so he replaced a few breakers, and shuffled the burnt ones around. I did ask him about other work, but his prices seemed quite high.

My experience was average. The technician that came out was nice. Their prices outside the deal are very high.

The end cost was more than I had anticipated. The installation was a little more challenging because of the altitude of the ceiling fan and how heavy it was. I also had to help and assist with the installation. Everything turned out fine. The installer was a great guy to work with and I had no issues with the work he did.

The electrician was polite. He arrived quite late but did call to let us know. We did not feel like the inspection was very thorough and did not feel satisfied that all our concerns were addressed when he left. He discussed some recommendations and we discussed some seemingly minor to moderate requests. The estimate arrived a week or so later and was quite expensive compared to other quotes we have received for similar services.

The work was mostly completed in one very long day, going well into the night, with a second shorter visit to finish a few things. The electricians took great pride in their work and worked quickly and efficiently. It was a huge job and we didn't know how bad it was going to be until the can lights were taken down. Heron was my contact person on the project and he was easy to get hold of and he took responsibility for making sure that the project was finished. They cleaned up the mess afterward.

The total cost of the whole job was close to $600, which I thought was ridiculous as he spent less than an hour here. We continued to have problems and called the company. They said they'd have to speak with a supervisor and call us back and they have yet to contact us.

The electrician was professional, arrived within the timeframe previously set up, and seemed to know his craft. My issue is that I felt the quotes for four items of work in my house were MORE THAN DOUBLE what they should have been. I say this because, to get a feel for his quotes, I asked him to provide me an additional quote for labor just to put in a ceiling fan, which I had paid $200 for just 1 month before. He quoted me $550 for the same job. Additionally, one of his quotes was $200 to change a ballast in my garage light (not including parts)...I know from experience that job takes all of 20 minutes and should not cost that much. I always get more than one estimate for repairs in my home...I really felt his prices were way out of line.

It was a good deal, but just to replace a fire alarm he was quoting me $390. The extra charges were outrageous. I tried contacting him via email. He never responded.

The service went fine. The technician identified some things that needed work but nothing was urgent enough to need done right away. One technician came out and completed the job in a timely manner. He was pleasant to work with and answered my questions. He was happy to explain everything to me and gave good information. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

It seemed to me that the other day the air conditioner stopped working but it was probably just the new thermostat I put in a couple of months ago. Anyway, they're really busy but they squeezed me in on a Saturday and came out without requiring a deposit. They spent about an hour crawling up in my hot attic and thoroughly checking the entire system. They clearly knew what they were doing and were professional and courteous. Couldn't ask for more.

I generally wasn't very happy with the service. I bought one of the Angies list deals - $79 for $249 worth of electrical work. I had checked online for estimates of the cost of fan installation for my situation, i.e. no existing box, install wall control, etc., and saw that it should cost between $250 and $350, so I assumed that I would be paying an additional $50 to $100 to complete the work. However, I was given no estimate when I set up the appointment, even though I described in detail what had to be done. When the electrician came, I found that the company actually had generated the bill in advance (so no reason not to let me know) and that my additional payment would be about $230, my first unpleasant surprise. So then he installed the fan and it looked good and worked well. That night, I went to turn on my whole house fan and it didn't work, although it had worked the night before. I called the electrician who did the job to let him know there was a problem. He basically had the attitude that it was not related at all to what he had done, even though it worked just before he was there and didn't work immediately after he was there, but still promised to call back to set up a time to come back and look. He never called back. So I called the company that originally installed the whole house fan to come and try to figure out what was wrong. It took the guy a long time to finally trace it down. It turned out to be a bad connection behind the upstairs smoke detector, exactly where the guy from Comfort Electric was working and where he told me at the time that he was tapping into the circuit. Apparently, he had tried to stuff way too many wires into a single connector. The fix was simple, but because it took so long, it cost me another $200. The guy who fixed it suggested that I call the owner of Comfort Electric and ask him to pay the $200, because they had caused the problem, so I did. The owner said to send him a copy of the bill for fixing it and a few weeks later, I got a check in the mail for $200, so it seems that the company does stand behind their work, even though that particular electrician did not. Other problems I found later were: (1) a hole punched in the wall opposite to the room where the fan control had been installed, which I had to repair, (2) insulation in the attic that had been pulled up to do the install was not put back down, (3) the wiring in the attic was left hanging over pipes and attic bracing so as to create a trip hazard, which I'll need to get cleaned up.
