No one showed for the appointment. End of story!

Chad came over to give me a bid on painting the crown molding we had just installed. Once here he pointed out some things that I had noticed on the paint job by a guy who had just painted our home for a very cheap price, but I had not mentioned, so was impressed that he did that without my lead. Turned out that the painter we had hired previously hadn't used the primer that I had paid him to buy so paint was literally peeling off the wall. That painter had also used a thick roller on the refinished interior walls that we had paid a drywaller to have a smooth texture now had a "nappy" texture because of the roller nap thickness. PaintGreen came in and did a great job of giving us color advise an then following up and getting 95% of the job done ahead of schedule so we could enjoy Thanksgiving in our new home. They sanded the walls in a lot of places to get back to the smooth texture finish and did everything we asked of them to get it right at no additional cost. Their follow up has been exemplary as it is tough to get it all right the first time around so taking care of things as we have come across them at later dates has held them in our high esteem and will be welcomed back in the future when needed. We learned the hard way and it turned out costing us more in the long run but turning lemons into lemonade here we ended up with a much more colorful home because of Chad's color experience and now we know of of a great company to hire when we need something painted in the future.

The painters did an excellent job and willingly corrected small spots that they missed painting and cleaning off paint splotches

Jon was quick to respond to my inquiry and gave a competitive estimate. The painters arrived on time and did excellent work. They cleaned up after themselves each day.

Jon showed up on time for the estimate which was importance since we made an appointment with the seller of our home to let us in. He helped with all of the color choices and was knowledgeable about all issues we had. THe painting crews showed up on time every day and were very pleasant and very neat. I would definitely recommend them!

PaintGreen did a great job from start to finish. The workers were extremely neat, very meticulous, and did a great job!

The workers stayed in touch with me most of the time and was very nice. Every time I called him he got in touch with me within a few minutes. Overall they did an excellent job.

This is the second time we used Paintgreen. The first time we got them off Angie's List and we decided to use them again. The reason I first used them was because I was looking for a paint company that would be ecologicially kind. They use non VOC and low VOC paints and they use drop clothes that are canvas so they don't have to throw everything away. The work is excellent and the crew is paid based on the reviews that we give including if they are on time and if they are neat and all those kinds of things.

Jon was very professional with the presentation of the services he offered but was not always prompt at returning calls or emails. We were pleased that they used low-VOC paint and tried to minimize environmental impact. Their price was higher than other quotes we received but we decided to go with them anyway. The paint team was led by Wayne and two other painters. Unfortunately the other two painters were not too experienced, made some mistakes, and did not seem to pay much attention to detail. A few days into the project the inexperienced painter left the company so Wayne was left with finishing the project by himself. Wayne was very professional and was willing to correct the issues caused by the inexperience painters. There was also a stubborn seam in the ceiling that kept showing through the texture and paint. We requested Wayne redo that part of the ceiling-- he had to redo it a few times and finally needed to retape and apply different mud/sealant but was very positive and willing to correct issue and find a solution that worked. Wayne also went above and beyond in cleaning up the site and moving furniture back into place. He was very honest-- for example we requested he buy six different paint samples so we could pick out a color. Wayne told us about how much each sample cost and we gave him cash to buy them. The paint samples ended up being on sale and Wayne refunded us the complete amount as opposed to just pocketing the difference. So basically in summary if you decide to go with Paintgreen we would recommend that you insist Jon assign a large experienced team to your project. For our project Wayne ended up having to do most of the work by himself which caused schedule overrun. This may have been an isolated incident since the other two painters were let go from the company and Wayne did put in a lot of overtime hours and work on Saturday to complete the project; however, we felt that Jon should have provided Wayne with some extra help. Other than that issue Paintgreen was professional and willing to provide a quality product.

It went very well. The painters that were here were very professional and courteous. They cleaned up after each day and kept the mess to a minimum. They did a quality job and were very responsive to my feedback. They were polite and respectful at all times.

Jon Ray was great to work with. This was a very difficult, emotional project. The house was built in 1937 and of course, was painted with lead paint that was the norm back then. Due to inferior prep work on the previous painting job, paint was peeling on all surfaces. The City cited the garage and the old paint had to removed using the new EPA methods for safe lead paint removal practices. Jon was patient and went over and beyond to make sure all work was done to the letter of the law. The work was done quickly and cleanly and passed inspection from the City. Many older houses are going to require safe leadp paint removal services in the future and I would highly recommend PaintGreen to provide that service.

I was really impressed with Paint Green. When he came out to do estimate I was worried his quote was going to be much higher than the other quotes I got. He uses better paint, had a great way to encourage good work from his workers, and was really professional. The quote was exactly the same as several other quotes I received. I also needed to stucco part of the house and do a good amount of drywall patching. I chose a company that could paint and do stucco/drywall. If I didn't have those other jobs, Paint Green would have received the job. I highly recommend them!

We hired paint green to refinish our front door. It is made from good quality wood and has glass windows -- it's a pretty nice door. After 8 years in the sun, it was fading. Jon from Paint Green bid around $700 to refinish it. We picked out a color (dark brown which was close to the original). His guy was prompt and courteous but after the stain was applied, it looked terrible. I called Jon and we discussed it. He thought it was ok and tried to convince me it was my fault for picking the color. I strongly disagree with this. The color was fine. The problem was that the product used to refinish it was not appropriate for this task. He used an opaque outdoor stain that looked like paint. The original door looked like a nice piece of furnature. Now it looks like a cheap door that is painted. After we discussed it, we agreed that I would pay him for his costs up to that point ($360). I am now having the door refinished by someone who specializes in that type of work. My interaction with Jon was professional and as pleasant as it could be given the circumstances. Perhaps his company should stick to painting and avoid fine wood refinishing.

Although hindered by weather, all workers were friendly, professional, and performed high quality work.

Started on time, worked hard, painted well. Accomodated the changes I brought up. They got a little rushed at the end as more coats were needed than anticipated and we had to be done for a birthday party.

They took care of the painting for our rental property. Jon was responsive and very willing to work with us. He painted our home and also cut our neighbor a deal to paint his home as well. Jon provided us with photos to show us the work progress and to show us the color selections that we made for the house. We did have a hitch with the color selections and it ended up costing us more money for the additional paint. We were in a rush to get the house painted but we also wanted to change the color of the home. We made some quick decisions and essentially selected the wrong color. We got a call from Jon and asked us if we really wanted to go with that color. It turns out we didn't like it. The error I can fault PaintGreen with is mixing all 15 gallons of the paint and not offering a test patch. I guess we should have really asked for that but in our rush to get things done we overlooked it. This ended up adding about $550 extra to the final bill (we paid for the additional paint) Again, Jon was very helpful but I would recommend that anytime you change the color of your home you should do some test patches to make sure that is the color you really want before you go the the expense of mixing all 15 gallons of paint. Paint looks very different on the wall in the sunlight than it does in the paint store. This is something we are painfully aware of now. Regardless, Jon and his guys did do a good job. They cleaned up when finished and left the remaining paint in the garage as requested.

Excellent. Jon responded promptly to our request for an estimate. He was extremely professional. He has a great knowledge of colors and design, and helped us tremendously with our color selection. On the date we selected, two painters came out and they were absolutely fantastic. Ron and Joe were always on time, professional, and went the extra mile to make our home look great.

Everything happened on time, it took more time/work than originally estimated but I was not charged more. Helped with colors & ideas and was very nice & friendly.

Arrived on time and completed job in timeframe agreed upon. They did an excellent job and cleaned up after themselves.

This is my first Angie's List review. Although I use Angie's List on a regular basis I haven't felt compelled to submit a review until now. It was the superior quality of service provided by PAINTGREEN that prompted me to write this. In addition to the great reviews on Angie's List what initially compelled me to contact PAINTGREEN was their website and the commitment to an environmentally sensitive approach to home improvement. They also plant a tree for every bid they give which is pretty cool. PAINTGREEN provided great communication from the start. I submitted an inquiry via email and later that same day the owner Jon Ray responded. I set an appointment for a bid and when Jon arrived he took the time to go around the house and carefully assessed what was needed and not needed. I received a detailed quote via email a few hours later. About a year and a half ago I had the exterior of a smaller sized rental property painted by another well known local painting company. PAINTGREEN's bid for both exterior and one interior room came in several hundred dollars less than what I paid with the other company. Derek is PAINTGREEN's project manager. Derek and his team did an excellent job on my home. They were diligent in making sure plants, lighting fixtures, mailbox, door handles, furniture, etc. were protected. The stucco repair work was seamless in blending in with the original stucco. The home's rusted and damaged gutters and downspouts were removed and hauled away. They worked through the weekend to ensure the project was done in a timely manner which I greatly appreciated. Each day the work area/s was tidied up. And there wasn't a single instance where employees mysteriously vanished during the workday. I walked around the house very impressed and thought everything was done. Jon however did a final walkthrough and with his sharp eyes noticed a few areas that needed touching up. Those were completed ASAP and the project was done. Overall I was very impressed with PAINTGREEN. The quality of work and high level of professionalism combined with being proactive in methods which minimize impact on the environment will encourage me to use them again for my next home improvement project, concrete staining for the area in front of my home.
