My husband and I received three bids all from Angies List and selected Paintgreen. They were higher than one bid, lower than another. When we called to set up an appointment ,Jon made the appointment and was prompt and friendly. He explained everything he would do and offered us a discount if we chose not to have some of the work done included on the estimate. When I called to accept his bid, he stated that my timing was perfect and they could start that same week as they had had a cancellation. We negotiated a bit on the price of the job and the work crew was set to come the next day. I was also told that his construction manager would be having us sign a contract when they came out. No contract was provided, although we did have our estimate and an unsigned contract on the back of the estimate form. The work was done in 4 days, not 3 and it is still, in my opinion, not competed to this day. My husband met with Jon after the work was done over a week later to discuss what we felt the work crew had missed. Jons attitude at the beginning was great and not so great after the job was done and he had his money. The work done looks okay but I would choose a more professional company for my future painting needs. Items of concern for us 1. We were promised a contract, no contract and Jon said he never provides one, just the agreement on the back of the estimate and he said it has not been an issue with him before. I am not sure how that will work for warranty work in the future. 2. We were promised two coats of paint on all surfaces when in fact, only one coat of paint was done on some areas and when my husband brought it to Jons attention he said some areas only need one coat. 3. The work crew left all the paint scraping on the roof and around the house, so did not clean up after themselves as promised. 4. The work crew broke a sprinkler head and did not report it, we found it after the work was done. Jon did take care of this item. 5. There was an accident involving a paint spill during the job and the work crew was not prepared for it so they took a shovel from our garage without asking and then dug up our back yard, again without permission to get to some dirt to stop the paint spill from going into the street drain. On the plus side, he did paint the house trim as we had requested and he referred us to someone who could fix our shutters at the same time the painting was being done.
Description of Work: My husband and I hired the company to paint all the exterior trim on our two story home. The owner Jon came out and gave us an estimate which included power washing the entire house and fixing one of the front porch steps. He estimated the work would take 3 days total.

They did a good job, however they didn't respond to my emails and calls asking for touch up work to be done. This was important because the warranty on the work was only for a couple of years.

They arrived on time and knew what to do. They answered all questions and explained their procedure. They finished the job sooner than they had projected so they reduced the price accordingly. They protected everything that wasn't being painted like windows and shutters and furniture very well. They did some extra things like replacing some ceiling lights using their tall ladder and touching up the front door on the inside. I was very pleased with their work.
Description of Work: Repaired vaulted ceiling damaged by roof leaks which had been fixed by roofer. Painted ceiling and walls for Living room, dining room, double stairwell all vaulted, as well as hallways upstairs and down, Master bedroom, and touch up areas in other areas.

Ryan Gutman came to our house for an estimate, and we were thrilled with his professionalism, kindness and overall great attitude. On top of being professional, he was respectful of our dogs ? something that is really important to me when a contractor will be working in the house. The cost ultimately was out of our price range, so we cannot speak to the final product.

We received the original quote from Paintgreen in the fall of 2012 for $825.00, but that did not include priming. We received one other quote at that time of $1500.00 for the job. We did not have the work done because the timing was not right for us. In April of this year we were ready to have the work done. We put out requests for quotes to 5 or 6 painting contractors, but only got a quote back from Paintgreen for $925.00 plus $300.00 for priming if we wanted it. We accepted their quote and arranged to get the work done on April 17 & 18. It took one additional day to complete the job.
Description of Work: Painters scraped, primed and painted 108 feet of a badly weathered picket fence. It took three days rather than two days because the fence needed extensive prep work. While we received only one other bid, the price quoted seemed high but reasonable given the work required. I would like to have received additional quotes from other paint companies, but received only one other response to our request for quotes. The painters were professional and thorough given the time frame they had to work in.

This was the second time I've used this company and am planning on having them back soon for the living room. It was a great experience. They are very nice people and do a great job. They painted the dining room and kitchen the previous month and are willing to come back to do touch ups when the countertop is installed. This time they did bedrooms and they look amazing and I'm very happy.
Description of Work: They painted two bedrooms, using 3 different colors. The holes in the closet were patched up too and you can't even tell there were gashes and holes there!

Ryan came out to the house, helped us pick colors and got a good idea of what we wanted to do. A few hours later I had a very competitive quote in my email. Time line: The interior painting only took 3 days. The IdeaPaint Clear took extra time, as the walls had to be sanded smooth and re finished first. Another ½ day of painting was just for the IdeaPaint product. At 8 am promptly 3 smartly dressed painters (All in white, paint marked clothing) showed up and got to work. There was a clear foreman, but they worked quickly and quietly the whole time. I barely heard the painters, the only disturbance was from moving the furniture ? completely understandable. Around 4:30 they started to pick up and clean. Everything was moved out of the way ?all the paint lived in my garage or stacked neatly on a piece of canvas. Every day they swept and cleared any trace of the day?s work. What little paper and plastic covering they used was reused from day to day ? unless it was torn or unusable (part of their commitment is executing in an environmentally conscious manor, and it was evident in the attention to detail shown by the painters.). Final Impressions: My walls looks great, the IdeaPaint looks amazing (I have to wait 2 weeks for the paint to ?cure?). Not a single drop of paint is on my floor, carpet, or furniture. Their disturbance was minimal, and they even worked around my ridiculous Internet wiring. I will hire them again for my next painting project.
Description of Work: Almost 70% of my interior walls needed repainting. Three walls were also painted in IdeaPaint Clear – turning them into dry erase walls. All the window sills were also painted and some minor wall damage was repaired (caulking, some dry wall screws removed, etc).

We hired PaintGreen when we moved into our new place because we wanted all our kitchen cabinets and entertainment center painted white. Ryan came out to give us an estimate and was very professional and courteous. He suggested we use laquer instead of paint for our cabinets for the best quality look. Because we had not yet closed on our house when we got the estimate, I was unable to schedule a time for the work to be performed right away. Ryan worked with me to fit us into the schedule as immediately as possible when we did close escrow so that we could have the cabinets done by the time we moved in. Even though it was very last minute, Ryan was able to get us into the schedule right away. The crew arrived exactly on time and did excellent work. They were able to complete the project in three days, which is impressive considering the scope of the project. The cabinets look amazing and very professional. They look like brand new cabinets rather than painted cabinets. I would definitely recommend and use PaintGreen again!

Ryan and his team did an excellent job. He was very professional and thorough in providing me an estimate on the spot after a walk thru of the house, and he followed up PROMTLY with a written estimate by e-mail. He was able to schedule the job quickly. His painters, Oscar, Pablo and Julian were great. Treated my house well and cleaned everything up after, and at night during the job. They did great work and did a couple of extra repair jobs around the door frames as they were working. Wouldn't hesitate to use PaintGreen again for future work. .

The job was done very well. The job itself took two working days and was started the day after the estimate, much faster than I'd anticipated. The texturing job was done perfectly, and the painting was done quickly and well. Chad's people are polite, efficient and clean; they didn't object when I asked them to wear shoe covers, and the work was done quietly enough that I was able to put the kids down for a nap while it was still going on. I'd hire them again, and recommend them highly. If you're looking for painters in Orange County, PaintGreen's a good choice.

These guys did an outstanding job. Ryan provided us with the estimate and he is a professional with really good people skills. We corresponded several times using email and telephone for the scope of the project. He always responded in a very timely manner for emails and if he wasn?t available to answer the telephone. They work with both Dunn Edwards and Sherwin Williams paints which is a plus because I consider both to be high quality paint. I didn?t need to talk them into using quality paint. Ryan worked with us to select a paint color which ultimately was perfect for the house. He arranged for us to have a paint sampler from Sherwin Williams. He explained how different sheens would work on our house in terms of maintenance and longevity. We chose a satin sheen because we thought it would look better than a matte finish and be easier to clean. The latter was one of the benefits indicated by Ryan. The crew was punctual, professional, helpful and hard working. When anyone of the crew noticed me, I was greeted and asked if I had any questions. If I did have a question or comment, it was addressed to my satisfaction and then the worker went back to work. The job was supposed to take a week and it did. Bill, a Production Manager was on site the first day and the last day of the job to ensure that I got a quality product. He also is very knowledgeable with great people skills. There were a few areas of repair work which they performed prior to painting. All of which was done in a good workman like manner. One repair which I indicated to Ryan was patching holes in the stucco on the chimney. Another repair which I didn?t notice, but was noticed by Bill, the Production Manager, was a small section on the concrete slab which could use some filling. The crew did a really good job on this one too. They refinished our wood double entry door at the front of the house. I felt that I would do this one myself when I had the time. Well, I am really glad that I spent the extra $300 to have them do it. It turned out remarkably well. Now the entire outside of the house is stunning to look at. One item which surprised me, but attests to the crew?s work ethic, was an irrigation sprinkler riser that someone had stepped on and broken. It was on the side of the house in a small 2 foot by 6 foot planting area adjoining the house. I noticed this the day before the last day of the project. I didn?t say anything because I stomp on these things myself occasionally, and I should know where they are as I live here. I know how easy it is to do. The day after they had finished, I went to make the repairs. I could not believe that it was fixed. No one said anything. They just did it. I was very impressed with this. The work area was cleaned up thoroughly at the end of every day.

The whole process was timely and straightforward with good communication throughout.
Description of Work: I have used Paint Green for my own home as well as for my rental property. The rental property is a 1940's cottage on a canyon property with sloping grade around 3/4 of the home, from about 10 foot elevation on one end to about 25 foot elevation with cantilevered wood and composite deck attached to the house. Paint Green's Chad Flood met me at the property, discussed job parameters and did a walk-through of the areas around the house to assess accessibility. He delivered a reasonable bid within days and started within a week of our initial meeting. His crew power-washed the exterior of the wood-siding on the house, under the eaves and rain gutters, and exterior stucco walls and fences surrounding the property. At this point, the foreman, Bill, met me on site and presented clear and well-informed solutions to issues which had been discovered with an area of the eaves needing attention, impacted rain gutters that hadn't been cleaned in decades, and crumbling lattice covering a structurally sound fence. Bill took care of every single issue we discussed, following through on schedules and time constraints due to the property tenants returning to the house and generally saved the day with solutions that were both functionally necessary and reasonably priced. The extra work was of course not included in the original painting bid as discussed with Chad, but when the costs were figured in to the job, it was a DEAL to get the attention to detail and workmanship that Paint Green provides, even with small handyman projects.

$499.00 for two painters for a day. We have not had the work done yet so we cannot evaluate the quality at this time. However Chad, the owner, has been very responsive and patient. We had had our house re-plumbed, which involved drywall repairs. We had one bathroom that needed to have the repairs painted to match the existing relatively new paint, and one bedroom that we wanted painted fully. Paintgreen did a great job.
Description of Work: We bought the Paintgreen special deal for two painters for a day. Instead we had one painter (Michael) for two days. He did a wonderful job and was a pleasure to have around - very quiet and courteous. He cleaned up very well also. At the end of the job we had 3 man-hours left, which Paintgreen said we could apply to future work. We fully intend to call them back for more painting, inside and out, as soon as we can get our schedule organized.

I know you've probably read several reviews on Paintgreen by now and this one won't be any different. I had a great experience with them from start to finish. I've never hired professional painters before and I'm so glad I did. What would have taken me 3 to 4 weekends to do, they knocked it out in 2 days. It's like I gave myself extra vacation time. They are an extremely polished, professional group to work with and the quality of their work is fantastic. I would definitely use them again in the future and would certainly recommend them to anyone.

After a hiccup with getting my initial bid, and a misunderstanding with Chad, Jon Ray, co-owner of PaintGreen called and really helped to clarify and "clear things up." He offered to come re-evaluate the work I had to be done, and asked for a second chance at my business. Reluctantly, I agreed to meet with him. I was extremely impressed with his forthrightness and willingness to hear my concerns, which he addressed to my complete satisfaction. In fact, I was so impressed with the meeting and Jon himself, that I after careful consideration, I decided to cancel the other painter I had intended to use, and move ahead with PaintGreen instead. I was very impressed with Jon's ability to assess the job as a whole, as well as all its many complex parts, and his evaluation about how to proceed included using a smaller crew, which in turn necessitated a longer job-time. His reasons were very sound, that although the number of days of interruption the household would have would be extended, the day-to-day impact would be minimized as the smaller crew could tackle and complete each piece of the job with consistency, and move on to the next room or area. Just before the job was to begin, I got reminders of the upcoming start date from the friendly and efficient office staff, and Jon visited again with Bill Flowers, the job Superintendent, and we again reviewed each piece of a very complex job, involving multiple colors and various finishes. He impressed my with his thorough experience with high-end finishes and his forthrightness about what would and wouldn't work in each situation. All this was balanced with a genuine desire to manage costs and minimize disruption of the household. The following Monday Bill arrived along with Michael and Omar (the men doing the actual work), and we again, walked through each and every aspect of the work to be performed so that we were clear that everyone understood the complexities and concerns of each individual piece. Michael and Omar were nothing less than spectacular in every regard. They arrived at least 15 minutes early every morning, and were ready to begin work at 8:00 sharp. They worked quietly and diligently, without a shred of fuss and bother at any moment. Their work was absolutely fastidious, with astonishing attention to detail... from the initial masking off they covered every thing neatly and completely to the actual application of paint. (At one point I had to laugh, because of how thorough and perfectly they masked and arranged their drop cloths which never saw a drop of paint due to their careful and skilled use of the tools and materials.) Often, they stayed late in order to maintain the superior quality of work and remain on schedule. Throughout the job, they were punctual, hard-working, impeccably clean & tidy, as well as always being very pleasant and accommodating. I never had to ask them to do something a certain way twice, they listened and got it the first time and followed through consistently. (For much of the job, we had to look after a friends three dogs while she was out of the country, so added to my two, we had five dogs for the majority of the time the work was being done, and despite the unpredictability and chaos that necessarily accompanies five dogs, the guys were seemingly unruffled and there was not a single mishap.) Each and every day Bill would visit the job site, and review with Michael and Omar, and with me, how each aspect of the job was going (great), what could be done to improve (nothing) and whether everything was "up-to-snuff" (which everything always was). At the end of each day, they would clean everything up, leaving only what masking was necessary to not disturb the freshly applied paint, or would be needed the next day. Everyday, Michael reviewed with me what they'd done, what surfaces were wet or still fragile, and what would be done the next day. I cannot emphasize enough how really skilled these guys are... my house is filled with elaborate moldings, surfaces, hardware, & things that need to be handled with care and precision; Michael and Omar are truly craftsmen who take pride in a job well done, and it truly shows in the finished product. The work they delivered was absolutely beautiful and wonderfully executed. Throughout the entire job, they were pleasant, efficient, precise, neat & tidy, well organized and performed at a superior level of accomplishment and expertise. It is with enthusiasm that I highly recommend PaintGreen and each & every member of their team. What started out as a negative experience turned out to be fabulous.

The 2 day job resulted in 3 return trips to fix problems (walls not pre-prepped as set forth in the estimate, paint splatter on counters/cabinets/switch plates, dark paint smeared across light walls, paint sagging and dripping). While I was disappointed with the painters who performed the lackluster work and made incredibly amateur mistakes, the responsiveness of the company to resolve each issue as it arose was good. I do believe from the reaction of the owner that it is rare such mistakes are made. He offered me an acceptable discount for my time and hassle and made sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. While the place looks good now, it was a frustrating process considering how many times they had to come back.
Description of Work: I had the interior of my 1-bedroom condo painted. Light sage in the living areas, deep crimson in the dining room and white/green in the bedroom. This was a purchase of a 2002 condo, so there was also some wall prep needed (holes patched, light sanding, etc.)

Based on the already glowing reviews on Angie's List, I contacted Paintgreen for an estimate. I met with Chad, the Owner/General Manager, and was impressed with his professionalism and enthusiasm. We had a thorough discussion on primary and accent paint schemes and, pending the estimate, I scheduled the painting for the following week. Several days later, I met with Ryan, who walked me through the color selection process. I showed him some samples of paint colors that I liked and he came up with several primary/accent colors that closely approximated what I was looking for. Ryan is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. The next day he brought actual paint samples that I had applied to the walls to look at in differing lighting during the day to make sure they worked for me. The start of the actual painting was rather effortless. I spent about 15 minutes getting everyone in my condo and then left for work. After I came back, I saw that much progress had been made, but I was initially concerned that one of the colors was "off". I phoned Ryan for a discussion and he was very patient in explaining that it really needed a second coat before I could see the full effect....and he was correct. It turned out great. The crew stayed late on the second day to ensure the job was completed as promised and did a commendable job in cleaning up. I was tremendous impressed with the results. I would definitely hire Paintgreen again.

Without realizing it was a holiday, I had scheduled work to start on Monday (Memorial Day) but the painters turned up ready to work promptly at 8 a.m. I was, frankly, amazed. The work was completely finished by Thursday afternoon. They began in the living/dining room, taping off baseboards and patching water damaged walls. Michael is really a master painter -- having patched the walls, he carefully sanded them down before priming -- the finished surfaces were smooth and showed no trace of the earlier damage All the furniture was carefully moved to the middle of the rooms and covered amply with plastic sheeting (which I found out later was later recycled). The work went forward without a hitch -- Wayne stopped by on Tuesday and again on Thursday to see how things were going. Each day they stopped for lunch and returned promptly to work. They cleaned up at the end of every day. There were no horror stories -- no drips, no smudges, no sloppy work anywhere. It was a real pleasure watching professionals work!
Description of Work: I was very pleased with this company's oerformance.. They painted the entire interior of my house and did an excellent job In spite of some early miscommunication with the person who came to do the original estimate, Wayne, the manager, was very helpful in explaining the estimate and stopped by more than once to be sure that the job was going well. We had some water damage that needed patching and Michael did a really careful and professional job with patching, sealing and painting. Michael even pointed out and patched places that I hadn't realized needed work. The kitchen, living/dining room, two bedrooms and bath were all painted, including the cabinet doors and drawer fronts in the kitchen.
